Bucs Beating Saints Will Serve Two Purposes

October 10th, 2024

So for obvious reasons, every Bucs fan wants Tampa Bay to clobber New Orleans on Sunday.

But what about the not so obvious reason?

Joe would see a Bucs road victory serving two purposes. In addition to pushing the Bucs’ record to 4-2, the slimy Saints would lose their fourth consecutive game and fall to 2-4.

Joe is certain that would set off alarm bells among Saints fans and ownership, and put the Dennis Allen regime on very thin ice. Allen is not a special head coach and he barely survived last season after rallying to finish 9-7, including a pounding of the Bucs in Week 17.

Joe’s goal? Have Allen fired and the Saints tanking when they arrive in Tampa for their Week 18 game against the Bucs.

That should give the Bucs a heck of an edge, and Joe will note that the Saints’ second game this season against the Falcons is on Nov. 10. And there’s a solid chance they’ll have starting quarterback Derek Carr back by then — so they’ll still be going all-in to win.

A loss to the Bucs on Sunday and the Saints will be in chaos and the Bucs will be one step closer to facing a checked out team in January.

    The saints are the worst

Their fans are actually already saying 2-5 because Carr is out. They are basically giving themselves a loss to the Broncos already too.
They have to turn around and play them on a short week next Thursday.
Let’s see what happens 1st, because they still have playmakers and their defense is solid. If we don’t show up offensively or turn the ball over, we could still easily lose this game. Should we win? Absolutely. Will we?
Every Bucs fan truly wonders what we are gonna see, because just when we thought we had an IDENTITY, that blew up in our face.
Right now, I would say our Identity should be scoring points and keeping up with any offense in the league, but apparently Coen didn’t get that memo.
And in a game where Cousins throws for 500+ to boot.

Who is that in the picture, does he still play in the NFL???

Odds on 11 Catches 215 yards 2 TD’s for Chris Olave with the soft, half baked, 3-4 version of the Tampa 2 will make Spencer Rattler look like prime Peyton Manning. Setting at -200 if im Vegas….

i get the premise here joe but whenever we play new orleans, it is a slug fest. throw out the records. even back in the koetter days from 2016 to 2018, those game were brutal and pretty certain we split each of those years. they always come to play vs us and we werent ready last december 31 which ruined my NYE. This game is by no means easy and any time we think we have an advantage vs them, we lose. i would bet our record as favourites vs the saints since the beginning of the 2020 season is 1-4? this week we are 3.5 point favourites, i hate that.

  6. Timbucs2 Says:

It’s also crucial for division impact. The Falcons will beat the Panthers and be 3-0 in the division and 4-0 in the Conference. We need this desperately to keep up after the debacle last Thursday.

  7. Lokog Says:

Personally I just don’t want to clobber them but I wanna end as many careers as possible im talking about career ending injuries I still haven’t forgotten what they did to Chris Godwin and i want revenge

  8. Mike Says:

We want to clobber the Saints because they are the Saints, and we would like to see them lose every game, period.

  9. Pmike Says:

Personally, I’m rooting for Dennis Allen to keep his job as long as possible. Crappy coach and as long as he’s in charge, we stand a chance.

What happens when they fire him and someone like Mike McCarthy or below he’ll make their way into the nfc south? Ya I prefer Allen haha

  10. A Bucs Fan Says:

The Saints were missing 5 OL last game.. not sure if it’s the same this week, but a banged up OL with a rookie QB should mean a relatively easy win for the Bucs.

    Time to eat a W

  12. Anthony Says:

Cant have them checking out before playing the falcons

  13. Matt_PcAfee Says:

Spencer is the only Saint I actually like, it’s not his fault he is a Saint

  14. HC Grover Says:

Bucs losing to Stanks will serve…….This game is the whole Taco on the line. The point of no return.

  15. Leopold Stotch Says:

Honestly, even if they were tanking, the Aints hate us so much that they will go all out to try to win, or just hurt our players out of spite.

  16. Defense Rules Says:

I’m still waiting on news that the Bucs re-signed Devin White Joe. Britt is obviously not the answer at MLB, and I’m not seeing anyone else standing in line to take his spot.

Britt sports a career 77.9% completion percentage allowed over 4 years of spot duty (only 26 targets). White has a 78.9% completion percentage allowed over his last 4 years of being a starter (265 targets). LVD has a 79.1% completion percentage allowed over these past 4 years. They’re all very close in terms of coverage, except that KJ is getting chewed up this year now that he’s starting (opponents have figured out his weaknesses & tendencies?). Sorry, but you can’t teach speed.

  17. GoneGator Says:

I don’t like us feeling too confident. We better play the Saints like they’re the team that scored 90+ in their 1st 2 games.

  18. DCone Says:

Two Saints losses were to the Cowboys and Chiefs who the Bucs have yet to Play.

If Bucs loss those two it puts them up with an advantage of the win against the Eagles.

Tonight’s SF/Seattle game could help determine if a Second team makes the Playoffs from the NFCS. At the end of Week 6 the fewer teams in the Conference with more than 3 wins the better and both tonight’s teams could be .500 @ 3-3.

Long way from week 18 and the Division could be decided before that with a team or two in the South looking for help to get a Wild Card.

  19. unbelievable Says:

^ I’m with you DR. I’ve been highly critical of Devin (and rightfully so), but he has to be better than Britt.

Let him rush, let Lavonte cover.

  20. Nola Bucs Fan Says:

I’m going to the game with a couple saints fans and I’m completely emotionally prepared to get torched by a rookie QB but also stoked at the opportunity to win in the dome.

  21. Dave Pear Says:

Pigs must have learned to fly.

  22. Ol' Boy Says:

Kamara will be their most potent weapon and that plays into the strengths of what Britt brings. Unless they run him wide…

  23. Dave Pear Says:

Jason wants to win now. He knows he has a great offense, and a defense that plays like the forward pass has never been invented.

In comes Robert Saleh. He needs a job, Bucs need a pass defense. Perfect match.

This should happen before any Diva White signings.

  24. joemaguire Says:

    The Bucs: Holy Warriors.

The Saints: criminals and demons (dirtiest culture in the NFL)
