Vita Vea Still Possible For Sunday

September 20th, 2024

Manbeast defensive tackle Vita Vea left Sunday’s game in Detroit with what was classified as a Grade 2 knee sprain (MCL).

Per Todd Bowles after practice today, Vea has been improving steadily and it’s still possible he could play Sunday against the Broncos. He even practiced a little today.

Joe finds it hard to believe the Bucs would want to push Vea, but Vea is probably pushing himself hard to get on the field. If Vea can show the range of motion and weight bearing he needs to, then Joe expects him to play.

But Joe would put Vea lining up for a snap as highly unlikely.

If he plays he’ll be about as useful as he was with the pectoral strain against the Eagles last season. Sit him down this week and let him heal.

  2. BucVoyager Says:

    Can he play Right Tackle?

  3. KABucs Says:

    Probably better than Skule.

  4. Erik w/ UniqueModernArt.com Says:

He will be out/should be out 2-3 games at minimum.

Zero chance of having power in that leg/knee for at least a couple more weeks.

  5. Buccos Says:

Why haven’t we traded for Reddick? SMH

  6. Vanessa Anne Says:

    No. Just. No.

  7. Woodenman Says:

Where do you practice medicine Erik?

  8. Bucsfan81 Says:

He’ll no someone at one Buc better get some sense. No reason to risk him. He is a huge part of our season. They need to keep him out at least the next 2 games maybe even 3 cause the third game is Atlanta on a short week on Thursday night.

  9. Boge Says:

Not sure what all the fuss is about. As Joes says, if he has range of motion and strength then he should be fine. If not, he’ll be out.

  10. Woodenman Says:

How bout we let doctors make the call. To many Amateur doctors opinions on this blog .

  11. BucHead Says:

I don’t have media access and even I know that there is zero chance that Vita is playing Sunday. To bring him back too early for a lesser opponent would be malpractice.

  12. orlbucfan Says:

There’s no medical pros on here. If VV plays at all, it will be extremely limited. Let him rest, Bowles. That’s one thing I liked about BA/Bowles when they came here. They paid/pay attention to injured players.

  13. adam from ny Says:

good mess with payton’s head and give him a little more to game plan for

  14. PSL Bob Says:

Let the man rest and heal. His play will be much more critical the following week when we travel to Philly and take on the Eagles. They will be looking for revenge.
