He’s back!
Joe thinks it is fair to say the old Chris Godwin is back.
The Penn State product looks as good as ever now that he’s both healthy and playing slot receiver. And the evidence is in the numbers.
First, Godwin is through two games an automatic catch. Godwin has had 15 catchable targets from Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield this year. Godwin has 15 receptions. He is looking every bit as good as he did before he blew out his knee against the slimy Saints in 2021.
Godwin is currently tied for second in the NFL in receptions (15) and yards receiving (200). Godwin’s 15 catches is tied with Brock Bowers of the Raiders and Malik Nabors of the Giants, both rookies. Only Cooper Kupp has more catches (18).
Godwin’s 200 yards is tied for second with Jameson Williams of the Lions. Only Nico Collins of the Texans has more receiving yards (252).
Yeah, Joe thinks it is fair to say Godwin is back. Big time!

seems like both JMAC15 & ME13 ran the wrong routes on 2 passes to CG14….Liam gotta clean that up

So what was the deal with Evans yesterday?
Live, it seemed like, there was no time to throw or routes to develop on the majority of attempts.

I said it before the season started…he will get 100+ catches this year EASY! Love his 3rd down catch efficiency even more! “Clutch Godwin”.

If that piece of trash RT Sucke wasn’t blowing up the offense, Godwin, Evans and everyone else would have a lot more stats right now.

Nothing at all wrong with Mike. The RT play was so awful, there wasn’t any time to do anything.
Very very difficult to take anything away from this game as Baker had zero time to do anything in the pocket other than some quick throws.

Godwin and Baker were our entire offense yesterday.

They were doubling Evans a lot, but I also saw him quit on 2 routes. Not sure his head was fully in the game yesterday.
