Playoff Probability!

September 15th, 2024

Bucs DB Christian Izien.

Yes, it is September and it is just fine and warranted to talk playoffs!

The Bucs went on the road, went into the Lions den and beat a team favored by some to win the NFC title this fall. Even with so many injuries.

Down was Antoine Winfield. Down was Vita Vea. Down was Calijah Kancey. And still the defense was able to get four stops of the Lions in the fourth quarter.

“There are too many to give a shout out to on defense,” Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield told the Buccaneers Radio Network.

Per BSPN, teams that go 2-0 to start the season in the past five years, 79 percent have made the playoffs. The Bucs are 2-0 boys and girls.

And the Bucs did it with so many backup defensive players making key, huge, game-changing plays to push the Bucs over the top.

So yes Bucs fans, it’s OK to talk playoffs. Math is on your side.

What a great day in Tampa Bay!

SUPERBOWL BABY….THATS WHERE WE’RE GOING.. … AND WE’LL WIN IT

  2. Rod Munch Says:

    Biggest issue is the Saints.

Said all offseason that the NFC South isn’t going to be the cupcake division it has been – and the Falcons will likely get things going after shaking off the rest.

Bucs are going to need to win and keep winning – and so far, so good.

Brillant win today, really can’t overstate how big this win is.

  3. Austin Says:

Izien has been an undrafted revelation, saved our ASSES

  4. Ben the GA Buc Says:

Saints looking like the biggest problem coming up.

  5. Austin Says:

OUR SECONDARY PLAYERS ARE ALL INTERCHANGEABLE… SAFETIES CAN PLAY CORNER, AND CORNERS CAN PLAY SAFETY

  6. ElioT Says:

    Underrated statement game.

Aints will come back to earth.

This Bucs team has some dawgs, all over the place.

I see what bowles sees on tykes Smith but that guy needs to work with a speed coach he was too slow covering St brown almost cost us. If we had Winfield today izien most likely would have gave St brown fits today

Exciting win but let’s not get too ahead of ourselves

  9. EEK Says:

    Of concern?
    Our punter and punt coverage?

  10. Leopold Stotch Says:

We had no business winning this game, but boy am I happy we did.

St Brown is literally one of the best WR’s in football, perhaps the best slot guy in the NFL. Smith did a great job today for a rookie in that role.

Suddenly the NFC South looks pretty darn good. Can’t believe the Saints went into Dallas and just blew the Cowboys out of the water.
Great nerve-racking win for the Bucs today.
This fan thing is getting expensive, even from home. I wore off the soles of two pair of shoes while pacing around my living room!

  13. Paratrooper Buc Says:

Just imagine this game with all our guys healthy and playing.

    ———

Our punter averaged 46 yards per punt today.

  15. heyjude Says:

Yes to playoffs and Super Bowl.

Not worried about the Saints win today.

  16. Shakeandbaker Says:

Lepold we led almost the entire game. I would say this Bucs team and QB have been massively underrated by the national media. Today was their coming out party!

  17. unbelievable Says:

Camarda’s one weakness is when he’s backed up in our end zone, he never gets a deep booming kick cuz he doesn’t have the same space.

This is typical for most punters, I’m not worried.

Definitely saw some weakness is Coen’s playcalling today tho.

  18. adam from ny Says:

thank God they didn’t cut izien, as roster predictors hinted towards…

dude is a ball player for sure…

it would have been a huge mistake to release him…

also the entire secondary is looking good – real good right about now

  19. Pewter Power Says:

lol no it’s not. So many people are under the impression 9-10 wins at the most will win the division. It’s been a down division for a few years so obviously people keep thinking well it’s gonna be again this year too but at some point it won’t. This year it won’t, Atlanta won’t be as trash as they were week one but not much better. The Saints are playing better than the Bucs be real

  20. JA Says:

What about the holidays, like days off around New Years

  21. Simeon4HOF Says:

Bucs will Win NFC this year

  22. CalBucsFan Says:

Please guys, we’re only 2 games in to the season and already want to talk playoffs and SB?!?

    Yes, revenge wins are sweet!
Yes the Bucs defense and especially the youngin’s are looking SPECIAL!
Yes, Baker is a great leader!
Yes, this will be the last game of the year the Bucs were getting +8 and I should have bet!

But, PLEASE, it’s way too early to talk playoffs.

BTW Rod, always love your comments, but I believe St. Brown is no better then 2nd best slot receiver, Godwin’s #1 hands down!
