Falcons Insanity Returns

September 3rd, 2024

Bucs GM Jason Licht

So a plugged-in national media guy Joe has long referred to as a closet Bucs fan thinks the Falcons not only will win the NFC South, but they’re a possible Super Bowl team.

Shame on Peter Schrager, the Good Morning Football co-host.

A good friend of the Bucs’ front office, Schrager was on NFL Network today passionately propping up Atlanta.

“I love this team. I’m thinking about them for the Super Bowl,” Schrager said of the Falcons. “I still might put them in the Super Bowl. This might be one of those teams that comes out of the season, they’re like 8-0 early and you’re like, ‘What?’ And then all of a sudden they’re the No. 1 seed, oh, and that building’s rocking. And oh wait, their quarterback is actually one of the best in the NFL. I love the Bucs. I do. And I’ve loved what they’ve done to keep that thing going, but [Atlanta] just brought in Kirk Cousins and they also brought in a new coach that’s going to bring a different vibe. I got Atlanta as the No. 3 [seed] and the winners of the NFC South.”

Schrager made the rest of his postseason picks and the Bucs were nowhere to be found.

Joe had to laugh at Schrager speculating an early run to 8-0 by the Falcons. Legendary Tom Brady came to Tampa with a dream team around him and an established coaching staff, and Brady himself struggled to a 7-5 start and said the Bucs offense was a major work in progress.

Yeah, but Kirk Cousins is going to shock the world with a first-time NFL playcaller because Raheem Morris is his head coach and the vibin’ is good.

This reminds Joe of when now-retired NFL super insider Peter King picked the Saints to be the No. 1 seed in the NFC for the 2022 season.

Somebody text this to Baker Mayfield when he’s not near fragile objects.

I hope the Fowlclowns get smacked around like FSU the last 2 weeks. Speaking of NO QB….LOL!

  2. Dave Pear Says:

Love it. Bring it. Bathe in it.

And listen to the d-bags howl when the Fowlclowns start out 0-3. Rah will be yungry .

  3. chris l Says:

Joe – random question but remember the whole devin white injury report classification issue last year from the green bay game? Did the NFL ever conclude their investigation into that or could we still be slapped with a penalty?

  4. Hodad Says:

Ask the Vikings about what Cousins can do for a franchise. He was their savior, after the Skins gave up on him. I guess third teams a charm, and the 36 year old coming off injury is ready to take this team to the S.B.. I can only guess Schrager is getting better weed in L.A. then he was getting in N.Y.! Keep smokin the Koolaide Pete.

  5. Lord Cornelius Says:

I took Drake London and Kyle Pitts in my big $$ league last night where I’ve typically sucked.

So if they suck you can thank me lol

  6. stpetebucfan Says:

Just got back from a wonderful vacation. The bong is now stored and it’s time to swim etc, get healthy for awhile. But when Thanksgiving rolls around and I visit the cousins back home the smoke will blossom. I only hope the cousins have some sh!t half as good as what Shrags must have smoked when he came up with freaking 8-0.

First off I agree with Joe. Raheem and the guys will be lucky to escape their own crib on opening day without being embarrassed by Mike Tomlin and the Steelers!
Russell Wilson may be aging but no worse than Cousins and I like Tomlin’s chances of turning loose the hounds on gimpy Cousins. 0-1

Trip to Philadelphia for game 2 0-2

Chiefs in the Mercedes Benz for week 3 0-3

THEN come the two games that could very easily make or break the Dirty birds.
They host first the Saints and then the Bucs. At 0-3 those two Divisional opponents become almost mandatory wins. Even split those games and they are 1-4 but worse 1-1 in the Division after two HOME games.

I do NOT write off the Falcons. I think the Saints COULD show up again although they’re hanging on at this point.

It’s the NFL…No Effing Logic according to the late great Chris Thomas.
On any given Sunday yadda yadda. But at this point the disrespect is aimed right at Baker. He beats Cousins in his own crib for his Buc debut and yet somehow the gimpy Cousins is head and shoulders better?

Yeah yeah for the Baker haters. Cousins put up “better” numbers than Baker in the game. Yards and completions are irrelevant when you toss a critical int and the other QB does not. And when the other team has more points than you all the freaking yards passing are irrelevant!

8-0 falcons is ridiculous lol crack smoking

Thanks for the FANTASTIC news Joes. ” now-retired NFL super insider Peter King”

NO MORE PARAGRAPH SIZE RED LINKS on a Peter King post…

Prayer does work! I prayed for this and it happened..

Sadly though, I did miss many of the JBF Peter King posts, because I didn’t like the PARAGRAPH SIZE RED LINKS on a Peter King post.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, We all shall see soon enough who and what the Falcons are or are not. Same with the BUCS and all other NFC South Teams and all NFL Teams.
Talk is cheap, results are proof.

    GO!!!!!BUCS!!!!!

  9. Pewter Power Says:

Oh no he had sandwich at Tyrone Biggums Bar n Grill again!!!

  10. DBS Says:

Wow. So people now think Raheem The Dream is going to be better than he was here in his first year in Atlanta. And somehow he has Brady in Cousins on one leg. Going to the Super Bowl? Like I said These people have to keep people listening and talking. Raheem is the newest thing in the NFCS to be stirring the pot with.

  11. BakerFan Says:

Heck I have them 1-3 starting out maybe 0-4. We will see who is closer

  12. heyjude Says:

I was feeling good reading all the positive things Schrager was saying about the Bucs, and then he ruined it with the Falcons and Cousins. They have all drank the Kool-Aid. I don’t get it.

  13. Larrd Says:

Pitts and London have fewer touchdowns in five years of play (3 years for Pitts, 2 for London) than Mike Evans had last year, 12-13.

  15. Beeej Says:

An enterprising journalist would store all these up and re-visit them following the season

  16. Mike C Says:

RustyRino “Prayer does work! I prayed for this and it happened” sure……….. buddy, PS Santa isn’t real, Easter bunny too bro, grow up.

  17. HC Grover Says:

    national media…nuff said….disregard.

  18. Ian Says:

Cousins doesn’t win anywhere he’s been. Lol I just don’t get it

  19. heyjude Says:

    Good idea Beeej!
And we all know Jason and Baker are keeping receipts too.

  20. adam from ny Says:

it’ll really be something if the falcons with all the newness across the board, come flying out the gate with their feet set – and roll all the way thru the season…….

seems a bit too much for a team that simply needs to get their feet wet for starters…

    #GetSetGetWet

  21. Jerseybuc Says:

😂😂😂 couldn’t even read something this dumb. Super Bowl. WTF. Hahah

  22. CJBucsFan Says:

    Thank you Lord Cornelius! Lol

  23. BucfaninMi Says:

So… for the same reasons the Bucs were only win 2-6 games last year, the Falcants are going to win the division????

  24. FortMyersDave Says:

Scotty in Fat Antonio: yeah I know several Nole fans who should not go near the Skyway right now. Gator nation also on suicide watch, Napier could get launched if the Gators are boatraced by A&M on the 15th. As for the 8-0 prediction for the ATL, well I think a 1-4 start is more likely for them. I say the Bucs split with them, ironically losing to them and Penix at home in the cursed creamsicle throwbacks which they have won one time in, upsetting the Fins on MNF when the Bucs started 0-8 under Toes to the Line Schiano.

  25. kaimaru Says:

Of the first five teams, Cousins has a winning record against the Eagles, .500 against the Steelers and a losing record versus the Saints, Bucs, and winless versus the Chiefs. I really don’t understand the love for him. He’s 36 coming off an injury and he was never really that good

  26. Beejezus-belt Says:

Sounds like Petie boy has been smoking the funny stuff a little too much in Los Angeles. Now he is a stand up comedian.

  27. gotbbucs Says:

He also picked the Jets to be the #1 seed in the AFC……so how about we just ignore almost everything on that NFL Network dumb shows have to say. Kyle Brandt wasn’t much better.

  28. Bucs Guy Says:

Maybe his friend with the Bucs asked Peter to pick the Falcons to keep the team motivated by being disrespected.

  29. Just a guy Says:

Dang, dude clearly doesn’t know his head from his butt.

  30. BigMacAttack Says:

Atlanta has to open against the Steelers. That’s no cakewalk. Mike Tomlin is a great coach and his team will be ready for cousins and they will bring it. I see the Steelers smacking the Falcons in the mouth and winning by at least 14 points.

  31. heyjude Says:

Agree with BigMacAttack. Tomlin is a great coach and they will be ready for the Falcons with Cousins.
