“Day-To-Day” Injury For Vita Vea

September 16th, 2024

While Todd Bowles did not confirm early this afternoon that Vita Vea finished all testing related to his injured knee (suffered yesterday when YaYa Diaby fell on him), Bowles did say that his manbeast defensive tackle has a Grade 2 MCL sprain and it’s a “day-to-day” situation.

Joe is considering this great news.

    Woohoo!

  2. Bucfan1 Says:

Im thinking we wont see Vita, Kancy and Winfield until the Saints game on Oct 13th

Lions win gave us some house money to play with over the next 3 games

  3. 813BUCBOI Says:

    great news indeed!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  4. pewter941 Says:

I must not know the definition of day to day.

  5. LakelandSteve Says:

Talk about dodge a bullet. The backups did a great job yesterday but Vita was really pushing the pocket into Goff’s face yesterday. We have a good defense without Vita but our defense can be stifling with him in there. Great news!

  6. Eric Says:

Sit him vs broncos we have more than enough to beat broncos

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

As long as it’s not Carl Nicks day to day

  8. BucfaninMi Says:

    Whew!

  9. Biff Barker Says:

I trust our FO, let people heal up. We can afford to.

    Our depth stunned me!

Go Bucs. Save it for Nola!

  10. Simeon4HOF Says:

Wonderful news. Now Kancey .. LFG

  11. J Says:

Agreed. They can’t afford to look over Denver at 2 – 0, but they’re one of the worst teams out there.

    ^^^^^

I agree. Bucs held DET scoreless in the 4th without Vea. They have enough for Nix. Save everyone that’s dinged up for PHI.

  13. adam from ny Says:

    yes great news…

    you must ask yourself…………

would you have wanted to beat detroit and lose vita for the season?

    or

lose to detroit and have vita for the whole season?

the answer is the latter…lose to detroit and have vita…

well you got both…we beat detroit and vita seemingly shall return in a few weeks…

so excellent news on a monday

  14. heyjude Says:

Great news! Agree with others, let him rest the Broncos game.

    ========================================I
In favor of getting the injured healed by sitting them all this weekend, but have to guard against complacency. It still is the NFL and on any given Sunday………………

  16. BucsFan81 Says:

They might need to let him sit a couple games. We need him healthy. Maybe we can get Kancey back soon that will help the pass rush.

  17. Dom Says:

Sit him for the week. I understand the concern of you can’t downplay any opponent but the Bucs should be able to handle the Broncos without Vita. Bo Nix is 11-36 for 212 yards and 4 INT’s on throws 5+ yards down the field. Two games in and has no passing TD’s. They don’t have a QB and its looking like the game has passed Sean Payton by. It’s a long season, no need to rush guys back this week

  18. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Denver’s defense will keep them in the game. I think we need Goedecke back ASAP!

  19. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

I’ve had an MCL sprain, and it can take a month to feel heal. Not sure how he’s day-to-day. If he can be back for the Eagles game in 2 weeks I would consider that a miracle. More likely I see him returning for the Saints game in about a month.

  20. Drunkinybor Says:

    Hell yeah!!

  21. 813BUCBOI Says:

    GIPPER

    I agree…

and sunday will be sean and the broncos super bowl lol….

    GO BUCS!!!!

  22. TampabayDJ Says:

I wouldn’t play anyone who’s hurt or in need of a game off this weekend. Broncos should be a mini bye week. Suddenly, the hardest schedule in the NFL is looking more like 3 – 4 really hard games left . We already get 2 wins with the Panthers , and Falcons are not going to be very good, as a lot of us predicted. Go Bucs

  23. Booger Says:

There is no such thing as a “mini bye-week” in THE NFL. Never has been, but have you not watched (or seen any of the scores from) the first 2-Weeks of the season!? And, no one ever said that the Bucs had THE “hardest” schedule in the NFL this season… Because, it wasn’t. Most of the rankings I saw had it ranked more in the middle of the league. I felt it was a little ‘tougher’ than that tho, due to the fact that I had the Saints being pretty good, when everyone else didn’t.

  24. Dave Pear Says:

    Time to get hammered again!

    Great news.

  25. Kenton Smith Says:

Vita Vea is a beast and even if he’s playing at 80 percent we’re better off. If we don’t treat every single opponent with the same respect we paid Detroit yesterday we lose. Thank goodness the team, coaches and front office know that.

  26. orlbucfan Says:

Great news. Let’s get Buc Luck/injuries over with now at the season’s start. Let VV sit and heal. When is Kancey coming back?

  27. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Zero chance he plays this week.

  28. BillyBucco Says:

Does day to day mean tomorrow we will get the same news as today?
He is NOT day to day with a grade 2. 3-6 weeks more like it.
That’s like saying the prognosis of Bowles losing weight is day to day.
Dude is bigger than Andy Reid now.

  29. Pewter Power Says:

Sit out game 3 it’s a long season

  30. Booger Says:

I just want him completely healed and fully healthy, 💯… And, if it takes until after the ‘bye-week’ to get there, I’m totally good with that. Same goes for Junior & Kancey. Though, I’d like to hope they’ll be ready for New Orleans & Atlanta… All of them.

  31. Jim Says:

That is at least 2-4 weeks out, and will be returning with a brace.
