Bucs Name Six Team Captains

Bucs players have voted.
No other NFC team can say it has five of its own Super Bowl winners as team captains.
Your 2024 Buccaneers captains are Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans, Tristan Wirfs, Vita Vea, Lavonte David and Antoine Winfield, Jr.
Yes, Joe’s done the homework. The Rams named captains this week, too, and they only have three captains who played for their 2021 Super Bowl team.
If you’re keeping score at home, Baker Mayfield is the lone Bucs captain without a ring. And all the Bucs captains have been team captains in past years.
It’s impressive, especially if you’re in the crowd that believes players truly knowing what it takes to go the distance — and finishing the job — are best suited to getting a team that far.

Makes sense they are also the majority of the highest paid guys on the team. They worked hard and have lead the team. Lead them to another trophy!

Man alive ! Just imagining those six men greeting their opponents and the officials at midfield before kickoff. I’ve got strict rules about my gambling budget. But just imagining that! I’m thinking maybe my strict rules may just be a little too strict !

Is this like everybody gets a trophy???? I mean why in T F do you need more than 1 team captain it’s just more stupidity and completely defeats the purpose of having a “CAPTAIN”,notice how captain is not pluralized.

The fact that the players themselves selected the captains says a lot about our veteran leadership & what our younger players feel about the goals & standards those veterans set. But what’s also interesting is the distribution: 3 offense & 3 defense, and all within different position groups.
On offense we’ve got 1 captain in the QB room, 1 among the ‘weapons’ group (WR/TE/RB) and 1 on the OLine group. On defense we’ve got 1 captain on the DLine, 1 on the LB group and 1 in the Secondary. Couldn’t have worked out more perfectly.

Six captains?
Why don’t they just make everyone on the team a captain?
You should have A captain, as in one for the team – or perhaps you could even convince me that a separate offensive and defensive captain is acceptable. But six? That’s just stupid, everyone gets a trophy, nonsense.

Not only are those 5 guys Superbowl Champs, they’re all bonfide HOF’ers.
That’s a freakin Mount Rushmore of All-time Great Bucs right there and 5 of the best players in the NFL at their positions. Dannnnggggg, that’s a powerful captain line-up.
Obv we love Bake too, but those other 5 are tops in the league. Wow, people are sleeping us on life crazy right now! Superbowl or Bust.

This is perfect! The players vote and that says so much too. The NFL rule says a team can have up to six captains. I am happy with it. Go Bucs 🏈
