Bucs Came Out On Fire

September 29th, 2024

Snapped an ugly franchise streak.

You could sure tell someone, or some people, raised holy hell at One Buc Palace last week and may have chewed some serious derriere.

A week ago the Bucs played a truly embarrassing game against the Broncos. Humiliated. Terrible.

Even national analysts couldn’t believe how badly the Bucs played against the Broncos. Former NFL offensive lineman Ross Tucker, who works part-time for the Eagles as a preseason television analyst and has an Eagles-centric podcast, remarked last week how he thought the Bucs were “much better” than the lackluster effort they displayed last Sunday.

Well, that changed today.

The Bucs were on fire. Offense was humming. Fully on point. Defense was physical and swarming to the ball. And wherever the ball was, ageless No. 54 was right there.

No less an authority than former Bucs quarterback Tom Brady, who worked today’s game for FOX, said he thought the game would be a “12-9” kind of game. Joe actually chatted with Brady in the press elevator hours before the game and he told Joe he thought the game would be hard-fought and close.

The Bucs, even with all of their injuries, looked like a playoff team, a division champion. At least in the first half.

The Bucs came out ready. They were determined to take control of the game. They were disciplined, sharp, aggressive. And of course, the Bucs broke their 23-game curse of not scoring a touchdown on their opening drive.

The Bucs looked like a winner today.

In the first half.

Man, too bad David couldn’t get that pic to end another great day! Dude just does it weekly!

  2. Ben the GA Buc Says:

I wasn’t surprised. The Falcons showed the Eagles defense is butter soft. We have a better offense than the Falcons. Glad it all came together today.

Meanwhile the Broncos beat Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. They’re a hard out…

  5. Fred McNeil Says:

Well…were we on fire or were the Eagles Just like we were last week? This was an odd game. Ok. I love the victory.

Huge props to Lavonte. Single handedly wrecked Philly’s comeback in the 2nd half with multiple big plays.

I fear this will be his last season, but he was unstoppable today.

  7. Dave Pear Says:

    Shocked. Happy. Crow being ingested.

    Fast start! Both sides.

Throw the ball. Thank you. After a stretch of the zone coverage we’re painfully used to seeing, the game tightened and then the aggressive defense came alive.

Well, it’s obvious to me that I don’t know this Buc team! I predicted a bitter loss today and look what we got. I don’t know it was because I underestimated the Bucs or that the Eagles are that bad. I do know that my opinion on Jalen Hurts was wrong. I do not believe Hurts is the QB for that team. He was waaay off target all game.

JTS played his usual outstanding game of running around and producing little if any good for the Bucs. Why is he out there at all? Even his partner, Logan Hall, produced a sack.

Thursday night will tell a lot about this season.
