OK, so so far my observations in the first half are that the offence is moving the ball really well. I understand people are disappointed with the run game but realize that that is a very stout from seven that Washington has.
I want to see more draws and screens to counter that front seven.

My thoughts on the game so far:

The problem with the blitz is that these guys are getting past the offensive line and then Daniel side steps them and has a free lane.
I think we should be playing for pass rusher and keep the guys who would normally blow in contain mode so that Daniel has nowhere to run if you notice almost all of his passes have been either to the running back or 5 yards short of the line of scrimmage. That’s because he knows his offensive line is so poor. They don’t have time to set up any longer developing plays.

I think it is ridiculous for somebody to make a comment about camp cupcake. Back to the matter is one person broke a bone from the looks of it which has nothing to do with a physical training camp. As for what happened to Lavonte David I do not know but I realize that they are also playing in more than 100° heat first game of the season. I’m sure dehydration and cramps are playing a factor into it. Finally McCollum getting hit in the head and getting a concussion is again nothing that can be prevented by having a more physical training camp.

BTW, I’m not down on Cody – yet – however it’s worth remember that Hainsey can play guard, and he wasn’t a problem last year in the pass game, just don’t a good run blocker. If Cody doesn’t figure it out, I wouldn’t be shocked if they give Hainsey some snaps. Hopefully doesn’t come to that.

If you don’t tackle in practice, you’re not playing full speed. Going from non-full speed to full speed all of the sudden is what gets guys injured. That’s not me making that up, that’s what you hear from most ex-players – in fact I’ve never heard an ex-player who said they think these current cupcake camps are a good idea. Doesn’t need to be Ray Perkins with 3-a-days, but my God, this year they’d have one practice with no hitting, 2 days off, then a practice in underwear, then 2 days off.

The weaknesses are clear and well known. Britt too slow. The two guards not starters. Edges middling at best. Pretty good coaching and skill guys making up for the weak ones. We’ll have trouble with the elite teams but should be able to hang with the rest. We have character if not super talent everywhere. This is fun. Go Bucs!!!

Lions had one of the worst passes defenses last year, but did upgrade in the offseason. But on the road, that’s going to be a very very tough game. However if Baker can play like he did today, the Bucs will win. But that’s a very very high bar, won’t flip out if he doesn’t play as well.
