Stunning win by the Bucs today in Detroit, and without hesitation, Joe will call the Bucs legit Super Bowl contenders.
The Lions’ five-game home winning streak was snapped by a nasty Tampa Bay defense that found answer after answer for Detriot’s vaunted passing attack. The many Bucs injuries didn’t matter.
With the game on the line in the red zone, the defense was money. Big stops by Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and SirVocea Dennis were followed up by Christian Izien’s final stop of the Lions at the 6 yard line.
And the defense rose up again with under a minute left with the Lions in desperation mode.
Take a bow, Todd Bowles. You just survived Justin Skule starting at right tackle.
Man, Joe is so damn impressed. The Bucs were without their top defensive player, Antoine Winfield, Jr. and stud defensive tackle Calijah Kancey. And Vita Vea was lost early in the third quarter with a knee injury. It didn’t matter. Zyon McCollum opened the game with his first career interception and Izien had the huge one in the fourth quarter.
And how about Baker Mayfield putting the Bucs on his back (along with Chris Godwin). Mayfield defined toughness today, surviving the Skule experience and running like he’s probably never run before.
Joe is so impressed.
Who can’t the Bucs beat? Joe can’t answer that question, and it feels damn good.

Gritty win by the Bucs! Wow. Winfield out, Izien did a crazy job. That dude is underrated. Baker didn’t have Goedeke on his right, and BOY was Hutchinson eating Skule’s lunch. Lost Vea halfway through. No Kancey. Getting that early lead and taking away the run was huge.

Let me see if I got this right. Baker gets sacked 5 times and is running for his life so much he ended up as the leading rusher for the Bucs. Take away Baker’s runs and the team was 18 carries for 36 yards. Despite the Lions 56 pass attempts, no Bucs sacks. The Lions average 5.1 yards per rush.
Yet, somehow, the BUCS WON!
Lots to clean up but no questioning the grit and determination of this team. Win looking great, win ugly, they all count the same in the win column.

Bucs caught some breaks today when MCDC made a collasal mistake before Halftime. Coen managed 220 yards of Offense and looked ordinary.Saints 432 yards against Dallas is much more impressive.
Bucs sure better win the Division because a Wild Card is going to be tough with 4 additional NFC Wild Card teams sitting at 2-0

The fact we lead for almost 57 minutes is a testament to the mettle when playing a team like Detroit. Definitely a edge of your seat game. The back ups aren’t just getting playtime they’re showering they’re good enough to help keep the ship afloat until the starters come back except that right tackle. He needs to walk the plank.
