Baker Mayfield Passing Chart Week 2

So Baker Mayfield was a bit more diverse throwing the ball in Detroit than he was in Week 1 of the season.
A little.
In Week 1, Mayfield seemed to only target receivers towards the sidelines or at least outside the tackles. Mayfield had a few passes attempted between the tackles — or at least the middle third of the field in Detroit.
Last week Mayfield attempted three passes over 20 yards. One was a touchdown to Jalen McMillan. (A fourth was to McMillan but was ruled no play after a defensive holding penalty.)
Sunday at Detroit, Mayfield attempted three passes over 20 yards. One was a completion and one was to Trey Palmer that resulted in a defensive pass interference penalty that put the Bucs in the red zone on their opening drive.
So far in 49 official attempts, Mayfield has only attempted five passes over 20 yards. So it seems Bucs offensive coordinator Liam Coen likes short passes.
After receiving word that a local Florida high school may have to turn kids away from their fall football program due to a lack of equipment, the Baker & Emily Mayfield Foundation donated $17,900 for new shoulder pads and helmets.

I don’t have $17k to throw out there, but in the world of non-profit donations… allowing 40+ high school kids to learn the valuable lessons that football taught me, with equipment that lasts multiple seasons, the impact per dollar here is huge.
A lot of our problems in society come from boys not learning the discipline and commitment, both individually and collectively, needed to enter adulthood as a “grown man”.
Let’s lowball it and say that only five kids are significantly impacted in the long term from this football equipment. Maybe it is five less broken homes, or maybe it is five more kids who become motivated to go to a trade school or community college rather settling for a directionless career in unskilled labor.
That is worth a lot more to society than $17k.

Love the news about Baker and Emily’s charity work. Especially love that it’s a specific use, now something that gets watered down by foundation costs, overhead and expenses.
Now, what about our glass eating donkey? And has the Druler been cut yet?

I appreciate your comment so much that I’ll post for the first time to add. Baker’s donation is invaluable and theres so much good that can come from it, that we can’t see or sense tangibly. In the same sense, the sum of all we’ve done as well is also invaluable and intangible as of now. If you’re short on faith, confidence, and esteem, just remember you’re right where you need to be and the sum of all the little things we’ve done is greater than most of us realize.
I know a lot of you are upset about Baker’s TB comments; I hope you’re not as upset when our future president once again uses tough and difficult language about situations affecting our communities.

It seems like this current squad of managers, coaches, and players want to do something bigger than football; winning the super bowl is a great goal and the prime directive, but it should not come at great cost to the humanity and vocations of those involved. With TB, football was the only business. With this current leadership, the Bucs are doing things for fans to be truly proud of, such as Baker’s donations or Mike Evans contributions to the community. I know there are other players doing plenty of good work too!
