Another Growth Week For Bucky Irving Status, Love (Video)

September 29th, 2024

With proper respect and love to Trey Palmer’s sweet touchdown catch in traffic today, the catch of the day went to Bucs rookie running back sensation Bucky Irving.

The video is below and what a sweet one-hander it was to prevent an ugly fumble on the backwards pass. And Irving turned it into a eight-yard gain that may have saved a third-quarter touchdown drive in the beatdown of the Eagles.

Joe has to note Irving’s consistency. Outside of a couple of minor mistakes and very limited opportunities in Detroit, Irving has made impact plays at a stunning rate.

Those rousing BUH-kee! BUH-kee! chants at The Licht House have been there since opening day and seem to get louder each home game.

Multiple times on today’s FOX broadcast, it was obvious that Tom Brady is feeling the Bucky passion as well. Joe laughed at one point when Brady noted that a faction of fans are calling for Irving to take touches away from Rachaad White.

Where would Brady get an ideal like that?

We’re seeing the birth of a great TB running back!

  2. Dave Pear Says:

Muscle Hamsteresque, only without the Mollies, hopefully.

  3. LakelandBuc Says:

This is the best backfield we’ve had since Charles Sims and Doug Martin. Bucky run like Dougie, and Rachaad catches like Charles Sims.

  4. Oxycondomns Says:

someone should show a growth video to baker on how brady roasted him about stress. there is a reason the team looked the way it did vs the broncos . baker needs to take his professionalism to the next level if bucs have any chance of success the bucs have the talent

  5. Koala Says:

Must be killing Joe that Bucky and White had the same stat line rushing.

  6. Tbbucs3 Says:

The Bucs have 2 capable NFL RBS with different skill sets….thats awesome.

The days of the workhorse back are over. So, it really doesnt matter whos listed as the figurehead “starter”.

  7. Tbbucs3 Says:

They will both play and be productive

  8. Saskbucs Says:

They actually ran outside with White a couple times and he picked up chunk gains. His problem is he never quickly hits a cutback on an Inside run if a hole isn’t opened. Dances, window closes falls forward for a yard. You see Barton stop on a dime and hit the gas on that one screen? Pulling him and getting Wirfs out there. Our WRs do their job blocking and what a weapon.

Then take a page out of the Ravens playbook tonight with the fake screen throw draw. Hopefully it’s just early for everyone still and the passing playbook really opens up as continue the season.

yeah bucky is something else…we are very lucky to have grabbed him in the 4th…in fact he doesn’t even really seem like a rookie out there…

    go bucky go…
    run bucky run…
    score bucky score…

We are so lucky to have Bucky. He shines that is for sure. Love watching the video again too. White, Palmer, Godwin, Evans, Vita, and so many others did well. Team effort!

  11. ATLBUC Says:

Can’t wait to get 31, 94 and 67. We might dominate.

    Sorry Oxy,
I didn’t see a whole lot of professionalism in Brady’s final year. Never Knew dirt balls were a part of an offense. The ranting and raving on the
sideline at Evan’s and ” I came back for this” was not that professional and uncalled for. The lack of blocking, mobility, and a good offensive coordinator were issues he had to deal with in his last year. But it was an offense that Brady had a lot of input on . It relied too heavily on quick threws to RB ‘s and not enough on our WR’s who were used more like posession receivers and had far fewer big play opportunities.
So Cohen put together a different quick throw offense that surprised the Eagles and one of the better D coordinators in the league. Baker put on a clinic in the first half running it.

  13. Oneilbuc Says:

Bucky needs to be the starter at runningback!!

  14. Buckypluckermfer Says:

Surprised Joe, you still get so much pushback when you simply point out Whites yards per carry numbers and rushes for loss. The numbers are the numbers. Hand off to Bucky and throw to White and Bucky the open back.

  15. orlbucfan Says:

Amen, bob in valrico! Let’s move on from Tom Brady. I’m proud of the Bucs. They owed Central FL a morale booster after what Helene did! And no running-up-the-middle on first down. Well, imagine that. The Bucs can beat any team in the League. Detroit proved it. Now, the Division games start. Go Bucs!!

  16. Jake been there since the beginning Says:

It’s starting to look like the Bucs pulled off a really good pick with Bucky Irving. I love the way he busts through the line looking for more realistate. When he turns upfield he’s on a mission. Love this guy!!! Let’s Go Bucs!!!!
