Tykee Smith Leaves Practice With An Ankle Injury

August 3rd, 2024

Rookie defensive back Tykee Smith.

Injuries continue to mount at One Buc Palace.

Today, it was rookie third-round pick Tykee Smith leaving the field with an ankle injury. After practice, an underwear football session before the Bucs get two days off from work on the field, head coach Todd Bowles called Smith’s ankle issue a “tweak.”

Well, that’s certainly better than whatever nasty sprain happened to edge rusher Yaya Diaby’s ankle this week.

Running back Chase Edmonds hasn’t practiced all summer, Linebacker SirVocea Dennis is walking with a limp and left guard candidate Sua Opeta was lost for the season with a blown ACL this week.

Other guys are a little banged up, as well.

Fingers crossed that Tykee stays healthy. At Georgia he had an ACL and broken foot.

Is wrapping the ankle old school now?

A tweak doesn’t sound that bad but hearing other players are banged up is worrying. Wishing better days for all. Go Bucs!!

Long season ahead and talking about banged up guys in training camp is not something that was an issue last year. Nothing you can do to protect players it’s just luck really

Ira put the ki-bosh on the team when he made the comment on how “smooth” the practices when going (just like when my golf game is go good and I make a innocent comment on how “good I’m hitting it”), then everything turns to crap!
    Way to go Ira…LOL!
