If we try to put Wolford on the Practice Squad I bet Carolina will sign him.

No loss. And this was not discussed on the podcast.

  3. JCJBucs Says:

    Licht at his best here.
Quality interview from start to finish. Bravo! Listened to it twice.

  4. Joe Says:

    JCJBucs:

    Thanks!

  5. Mike M. Says:

I give Licht a lot of credit knowing Ira and the Joes weren’t going to throw him 20 softballs and ask for his favorite salad dressing.

  6. Eric Says:

Appreciate Licht’s take on opening up more for behind the scenes vidoe, etc.
    Glad our GM isn’t Belichick.

  7. NJbucs23 Says:

Well done Licht. He seems like a guy I could chat football worth for hours over some beers. Good stuff !

  8. Crickett Baker Says:

I am a bit disappointed that no one asked JL about Godwin. Not even a mention. Sigh
What’s to ask? Bucs love him. Bucs believe in him. Bucs also want to see him do it in his contract year. No different really from Mike Evans’ situation last year. –Joe

  9. ChiBuc Says:

    Agreed!
Sweet getting frank salary cap talk from a GM instead of all the social media speculation. Thanks for asking.

  10. BA’s Red Pen Says:

I’m coming to see you at your birthday party Sage!!

Excellent interview. And yes, never forget – Happy wife, happy life!

Jason has a lot on his plate and he worries just like we all do, but it sounds like he really worries about injuries and other sudden events 24/7, even on vacation. Great GM.

Coaches are sounding great. Good chemistry among the players on and off the field.

Loved the favorite child question to Jason!

All in on Bucky, White, Coen, and others. Go Bucs!

  12. Durango 95 Says:

Great podcast. The fellas really knocked it out of the park on this one.

  13. First Name Greatest Says:

I’ll never trust Todd Bowles as a coach/coordinator that can divise a scheme to defend the forward pass but I trust Licht enough to keep this team out of drafting top 10

Speaking of position groups that are “all guys the Bucs drafted”:

    – Our top 4 wide receivers
    – top 3 safeties
    – top 2 or 3 corners
    – both ILBs
    – both DTs
    – 4 of 5 starting o-lineman

Not that guys like KJ Britt are superstars by any means, but that’s lot of homegrown talent and most of those position groups are quite strong.
