Rising Chris Braswell

August 15th, 2024

Rookie edge rusher Chris Braswell.

If Chris Braswell was a stock symbol, Bucs head coach/defensive coordianator Todd Bowles would put an arrow-pointing-up emoji next to his name.

That was the message today after the Bucs played cupcake with the Jaguars this morning on the Jacksonville practice fields.

“Braswell’s been excellent with Joe [Tryon-Shoyinka] and Yaya [Diaby] having been down. The experience and the leaps and bounds in which he gets better by the day, he’s been one of the more pleasant surprises since we’ve been up here in Jacksonville. And keeps getting better and better. Love the things he’s doing. Love where he’s at.”

Joe is getting fired up. This reminds Joe of when Tryon-Shoyinka recorded four tackles in the fourth quarter of the third preseason game of 2021. And he had a strip-sack in the second quarter.

Joe can’t wait to see Braswell get back on the field Saturday.

    Consider your words marked.

  2. Old school Buc Says:

    Harold is really Peter Kimg

  3. Half_Sac Says:

Why are you even here Harold lol

  4. Big Sky Buc Fan Says:

Harold, I pray that someone, somewhere, will give you the love and acceptance you obviously lack in your real life. A love and attention you crave by posting some of the most ridiculous things on here. Bless your heart.

  5. ir8oldman Says:

Harry is a useless ass from Atlanta probably. Sure is no Buc’s fan.

  6. gofortheface30 Says:

Harold – you must be a resident of that pee smelling dump known as New Orleans. The diabetes you likely have from gorging on beignets is impacting your ability to reason and giving you Low T. Watching the bucs in the divisional round and being relevant (unlike your team) has filled you up with so much bitterness. Good. Let the hate flow through you

  7. Fred McNeil Says:

    I hope Braswell holds up.

  8. Dave Pear Says:

The only thing to add, in fairness to the troll, is that his mother was obviously an unwed alcoholic who hated him, and now his probation officer has forgotten to check in on him.

  9. Defense Rules Says:

Note to all JBFers: Harold doesn’t give a damn about football.
What he craves is to have the focus on HIM, not on the Bucs.
And the last 6 comments gave him what he so desperately wants. Please just ignore the trolls and they’ll drift away.

Much more important; back to Chris Braswell … You’re not the only one who’s fired up Joe. Those kudos by Todd Bowles say it all. I’m convinced that Chris is gonna be something special, as will Ya Ya. I’m really hopeful for Kancey, but don’t like that this is now the 2nd straight preseason that he’s been hurt. I’m hopeful that this defense will do even better than last year’s.

  10. Jason Says:

So Harold got first comment and every comment afterward has been about Harold and not the article.
Well played Harold. Well played. Lol.

  11. Dude Says:

Don’t really think we’ll see this kids potential until he can play a full game and get some quality reps to build on and/or learn from. Hard to gauge his strength or the power he plays with from a handful of reps in a preseason game, tho I do hope somebody on the staff/roster is reminding him to keep his pad level as low as possible.

Hell that’s something Nelly being a 6’7 OLB can definetly show him the benefits of playing behind your pads.

Ramirez can school him on hand posturing and keeping the long arm of NFL OTs on the outside of his frame just by attacking a blockers hands & keeping power behind it.

  12. Bucs since 76 Says:

Once Braswell puts on 20 pounds of muscle he will be great. He should be working out with Ya Ya Darby.

  13. Bucswin! Says:

    Harold=Debbie Downer… It’s pre season. Go BUCS!

  14. GoneGator Says:

I’ve yet to read or see anything that exciting from Braswell. He’s going to need more than a good speed to power move. Definitely hope he’ll develope quickly and be a factor this year but skeptical at this point 🤞🏼

  15. CTBucs Says:

    Who names their kid Harold?

  16. Dave Pear Says:

Opioids are an epidemic. Obviously they’ve infiltrated the juvenile detention center in Ocala.

Anyway, Todd doesn’t throw flowers very often. That’s as excited as I’ve ever heard Todd be about a rookie defender. Arrow pointing up, indeed.

  17. Cometowin2 Says:

    Chris looks like Jameis Winston.

  18. No Mercy Says:

First of all, who is this herald guy and why is he on Joebucsfan? Second, Chris Braswell is a second round rookie who played behind Myles Turner and Will Anderson Jr for most of his college career. Hes already behind the 8 ball so to speak in terms of playing time and YaYa took half a season before he started balling. Expecting the world from him this early is ignorant

  19. Obvious Says:

Harold is a Peter alright! A jealous, desperate individual hanging on to a bitter taste in his being.

I’ve gotta ask Harold. Who hurt you?

  20. infomeplease Says:

I hope CB43 continues to improve everyday through that first week in February!

  21. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

I’m confused, his name is Harold Braswell?

  22. SlyPirate Says:

    Cometowin2 Says:
    Chris looks like Jameis Winston.

    ^^^^^^^

TOTALLY! I opened the article and had to look twice at the pic.

Braz will a nice addition this year but give him an offseason to bulk up and we’ll have awesome bookends!

JOE – ANYTHING ON CK? Did he practice today? If not, any word as to what’s up?

  23. ^^mtn^^ Says:

Who if the f is Harold?

I said Brazwell will be fine, in time.

Will go out on a limb here and say it will take a season to a season & a half for him to jell.

Look to the IDL to get the sacks this season

  24. Pewter Power Says:

YEA LICHT KEEP HANGING ON TO THOSE DRAFT PICKS ANOTHER YEAR GETTING YOUNGER AND YOUNGER BECAUSE APPARENTLY YOU DON’T THINK YOUR TEAM IS READY NOW!

AND LICHT THANKS FOR TURNING US INTO THE SAINTS!!!! YES YOU’LL WIN YET ANOTHER DIVISION TITLE AND CASH IN YOU’R YOUR RECEIPTS. BUT UH HOW MANY YEARS DID BUCS FANS LAUGH AT BREES AND SAINTS FOR WINNING ALL THOSE DIVISION TITLES THEN WATCH THEM DO NOTHING IN THE PLAYOFFS? BRASWELL AIN’T AIN’T TIPPING THE SCALE AGAINST DALLAS SAN FRAN EAGLES OR DETROIT AND WE ARE CLOSE TO BEING AN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM BUT GUESS LICHT THINKS WE’RE JUST A DIVISION TITLE TEAM ONLY. YOU THINK HE’D ACTUALLY TRY TO PUT HIS TEAM OVER THE TOP WHILE HE STILL HAS MIKE AND CHRIS. BOWLES IS JUST ARROGANT AND THINKS HIS SCHEME IS SO AMAZING HE DOESN’T NEED TOP PASS RUSHERS BUT IM NOT SURE WHAT JPP AND SHAQ WERE CALLED DURING THE SUPER BOWL YEAR.

  25. SenileSenior Says:

Happy to get a report on Braswell.

Also glad to see that a comment by a troll will be deleted.

    Go Bucs!

  26. KABucs Says:

I didn’t read what he posted.

I some how feel lucky because of it.
Was he talking about Dave Pear’s posting habbits? He has a crush it feels like.
    Oh well, no FOMO here…

    Go Bucs, Go Braswell!

  27. All_da_way Says:

Braswell is going to sneak up on people. Will it be enough as a team? Not likely but Braswell and Diaby out there with Vea and Kancey in the middle will be fun to watch.

  28. Mark A Swygert Says:

You know that Bowles is going to be tight-lipped about Kancey’s injury until he is forced to provide an injury report prior to week 1. Bowles policy has always been to provide as little info as possible. He thinks it gives him a competitive edge. Just got to hope it is not too serious, but I have to say Diaby seems to be a lot more comfortable dealing with his injury than Kancey. His face looks genuinely unhappy. It sucks. Injuries suck. But let’s face it, if football were not such a rough sport, we’d care a lot less about it.

  29. destinjohnny Says:

I think the first 2 picks in this draft were outstanding

  30. Bucben61 Says:

There is more ignorant trolls on this site than letter t’s why delete Harold..????…this site makes no sense
