Players Vote Mike Evans 26th-Best

August 3rd, 2024

When a Bucccaners players is voted onto the NFL Network Top-100 list, Joe wants to hear from the players’ opponents on the televised feature, not his teammates.

Yeah, it’s nice to hear what, for example, Antoine Winfield might have to say about Mike Evans, but it’s far more special to hear someone from another team reflect on the Bucs superstar.

The annual NFL Network series just ended for 2024 and the last Bucs player was named. It’s Evans. He ranked No. 26 in the player vote, one notch behind Jalen Ramsey and one ahead of Nick Bosa. Evans ranked No. 53 last year.

Dolphins receiver and future Hall of Famer Tyreek Hill was named the No. 1 player in the NFL for 2024. He was asked on camera to name his top receivers. “Outside of myself,” Hill began, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Mike Evans, Puka Nacua and Cee Dee Lamb.

Well said, Cheetah.

Also in the Evans feature was slimy Saints safety Tyrann Mathieu, Dolphins safety Jordan Poyer, Seahawks safety Rayshawn Jenkins and Colts cornerback Jaylon Jones all gushing over Evans.

Evans’ deceptive speed was a topic, as was his consistency and “crazy” catch radius.

That is our Mike Evans, one of the best! I would even say he should be higher on the list, top fifteen. And Mike isn’t slowing down either. He is going to break some records this season!

    Mike….an absolute beast!!!

Justin Jefferson didn’t make Cheetah’s list? Interesting.

    Mike is the man!

Mike Evans should be in the top 10. He’s going to have his best season just watch.

    “Evans’ deceptive speed”

That’s due to his size relative to other receivers. I remember as a kid being on the 836 expressway in Miami and just west of the Orange Bowl as we passed the airport 747s would be coming in for landing and they looked like they weren’t moving!

  7. Elite Vita Says:

Mike Evans, Tristán Wirfs, Antoine Winfield, Lavonte David all present Bucs to remember to be very proud of. Remember that we have much to be glad of as Buccaneers fan.

I’m still amazed when I stop and think how quickly and radically the Bucs were able to reinvent themselves.

From a burnt out SB winner to a team 2 years removed from that title and many of the players who helped win it along with a GOAT who clearly stayed a year too long.

In ONE season the Bucs have totally revamped yet kept the cream of the past. ME is exhibit A with LVD being right there with him. The Bucs have managed to turn one of the oldest team in the league to one of the youngest over night yet have managed to keep the exact veteran leadership to keep the team on the right track.

This team has an awesome balance of amazing vets like ME and LVD along with guys in their prime like Vita and Wirfs with a LOT of maturing talent and some very promising youngsters that now have the Bucs as one of the younger teams in the league.

Gratitude is my attitude. I wear it on t shirts and try to practice it. It’s easy with this year’s Bucs!!! If you can’t be grateful for the AMAZINGLY QUICK turnaround of this team then nothing is going to satisfy you.

The Bucs have eliminated that five year trek in the wilderness of sucking while trying to repair salary caps while at the same time replacing all the lost talent.

    Glad he’s out guy!!!

    Oops our guy

Let’s get this man 1200 and 12 again! I won’t root for a player to fail or get hurt, but just to emphasize Evans greatness, I would be fine with Davante Adams having a 850 and 6 type season.

  12. Baking with Evans Says:

    StPete. I’m with you!

From the “Den of depression” to The Licht House has been the evolution of our beloved Buccaneers!

The 20’s are looking good. From the Lost Decade to the Championship Decade might be our future remembrance of the 20s.

I would love to see another Super Bowl win specially with these group of guys. Mostly home grown and with great character and heart. Licht and Bowles have built a quality team that could create a decade to remember for us Bucs fan.

    GOTTA RESPECT T. HILL
He lost a SB to the Bucs. He was personally somewhat humiliated in that game (AWJ Deuces), and yet he has nothing but respect for the Bucs. Named Baker Top 5 QB and Evans Top 5 WR.

Most players are bitter towards the team they lose a championship too. Not Hill. That’s pretty impressive humility, grace, and professional respect.

Gotta grease the NFL palm to see the video!

That’s awesome, great for Mike to get recognition. I was worried pre-Brady he might spend his entire career here and people outside of here might not ever remember he existed. But Evans, and David, should both get their HOF jackets one day. Hopefully well into the future as they play for many more years.

BTW, on Evans, I think he’s going to keep being at an ALL-PRO level for at least the next 3 years, then probably PRO-BOWL level in year 4, before finally perhaps dropping off to being merely an average starter. If he can do that, he’ll end as one of the best of all-time.
