Non-Committal Todd Bowles

Todd Bowles

So will Bucs starters play Saturday? Todd Bowles sort of rejected the question multiple times today after practice.

Bowles said he’ll meet with staff Thursday morning and have answers for media afterwards. When pressed, Bowles would not be moved off that answer.

Joe already has answers. Don’t expect to see starters unless they’re competing for a job.

Next week, the Bucs have two joint practices scheduled in Jacksonville before their preseason game there. Tampa Bay follows that up with the same schedule against the Dolphins in Tampa.

On Saturday, the Bucs open their three-game preseason in Cincinnati.

“Preseason’s good. I mean, I think I get more out of joint practicing,” Antoine Winfield Jr. said after practice today. “Same thing in a lot of ways. I carry the same intensity in practice as I do in games. So it all works for me.”

Joe asked another veteran about preseason games. He answered but didn’t want his name mentioned. The longtime Buccaneer said there are a lot of factors tied to the value of preseason games, including the quality of the playing surface and whether or not the team got good physical work in against another team in joint practice.

Todd should rest the assistant coaches. Wouldn’t want anyone injured on the sidelines of a meaningless worthless preseason game. Bring out the cafeteria staff so we can see what we have in them.

    LOL @ Dave

Oh, man! I forgot there was a game this weekend!

What I get out of these last couple game/participation articles from Joe is that I should not attend the game & just save that coin for the Hard Rock casino in CIN.

As a land locked life long Bucs fan in the KY, the CIN preseason game was appreciated & one of the few true opportunities to see by beloved Bucs in person…But knowing it’s a throw away game approach from the coaching staff…I will probably wait & try to catch a cheap flight to the ATL game.

Why pay good money for tickets/parking/gas/hotel/etc for the pre-season match up…When it’s not going to be a product worth viewing in person???

catcard you are absolutely right – unless you were to win at the casino first, then you could buy the ticket with house money!

Bonsai, it will be forgetful. Don’t sweat it. Lol

Still not worth it Dave. Total owner ripoff. In the old days they were heavily discounted. Now just legalized theft.

  8. Dave Pear Says:

Ya you right, bad. Just playin.

His defensive schemes often involve varied looks and adjustments, which can make it challenging for opponents to predict his strategies.
