K.J. Britt Rips Off Payne Durham’s Helmet (Video)

August 4th, 2024

A look inside camp.

So the Bucs have clear and restrictive rules for media covering training camp at One Buc Palace.

Joe tries to follow them to the letter of the law. Most don’t.

Joe understands. People pick and choose in life. Joe cannot attest to cruising past Bill Currie Ford on Dale Mabry Highway at the speed limit, for example.

One rule for Bucs media is no video or pictures of plays when the team is in 7-on-7 work or 11-on-11. It’s a somewhat strange prohibition considering fans are allowed to shoot endless practice video, so there’s footage of Bucs formations and plays all over social media. Meanwhile, some of that video is seen far more on social media than it would be if it were published on many websites that cover the team.

Anyway, the Bucs have granted vlogger TR5NT spectacular access during this training camp and he has been working inside One Buc Palace shooting and sharing video of plays, as well as short interviews with the team’s biggest names.

Very cool. Keep it coming, Bucs! Thanks for approving all this to go public.

Joe will highlight one particular running play here queued up to the 4:15 mark below. If fans get obsessed with the film, they’ll see tight ends Payne Durham and Ko Kieft blocking down and springing room for rookie running back Bucky Irving.

Also seen is Durham locking horns with chief Bucs instigator and inside linebacker K.J. Britt.

It seems like Durham would have been wise to disengage from Britt, but perhaps he couldn’t — or didn’t want to. Eventually, Britt rips Durham’s helmet off and then pushes Durham in the face as he walks away.

Now wonder Todd Bowles thinks a Britt-related fight is likely!

Can we get a Schedule update ^^^ Still showing 2023

    Much appreciated Hoe’s

  2. WiseCrack Says:

Oh and that looks like Britt was reacting to a Payne in the a$$ that started blocking him at the line and carried the block 10 yards down field.

Are we SURE Gronk has retired? Or is this old tape of Britts Rookie year?

  3. Dewey Selmon Says:

How can a kid who can’t keep from touching his face every 3 seconds get this access and seasoned pros like Joes can’t?

  4. Tbbucs3 Says:

Can we get some tight end depth who can actually catch the ball instead of glorified lineman?

    Sarcasm? Seriously, I’m not sure…

The Bucs don’t have any TEs. Most of the leagues TEs are trash every year. Makes me wonder if we should scrap the TE entirely and start looking at FBs instead. Ko Kieft can block. He’s a little bigger FB than the traditional FB, but still I’d rather see a guy 6-2 to 6-3 245 make the team and get the starter reps at TE just because I am confident he’s the more complete and ready blocker on game days.

Having Ko on run plays is going to be pointless if we are to just run it up the middle anyways. Why bother even with these specific reps?
He does provide value as a pass blocker though. Definitely more than Cade Otton , or Payne Durham or any other TE on the team. Again he’s only a FB though technically.

    Much appreciated Hoes? 🤔

@thatAintRight. Your lack of football knowledge really comes through with that post. I’m gonna go ahead and vote most ignorant post of the season, even though the season hasnt started yet.

No big deal, just looked like he was slapping in his head in a half-playful, half-I’ll rip your head off next time way. Didn’t look particularly angry or vicious to me.

I come here for the Rod Munch comments. Thanks

Not sure your significant other would approve of your motives. Although, mothers tend to be very forgiving.

    Not that big a deal.

There are numerous youtubers among those on other social media platforms that have been dedicated to the Buccaneers for years. How do the Bucs drag some nobody out to be given this access? I can think of some by name, without looking them up. Maybe I’ve got the name right, maybe I’m close…but Jackson Krueger, James at mrbucnation…OK, I can name only two without checking my subscriptions. I’m not young, the memory slips.

Cannon Fire, Loose Cannons, Bucs Vault, Leetus are others I was already aware of and…

Then I found Let’s Talk Buccaneers & Real Bucs Talk.

    I’m omitting the “professional” youtubers.

I’m sure Trent is a fine gentleman. If he’s got a history covering the Buccaneers that I’m unaware of, my apologies. I was curious about how MrBucsNation had been putting so much stuff up…maybe he’s done that every year? I haven’t binged Bucs youtube in awhile and my memory lacks. If he’s taken the initiative to post additional stuff this year after seeing the Bucs give incredible access to an unknown, I believe he’s justified.

    WiseCrack – Wait, you’re saying… wow… Uncalled for, calling him literally a mother f….

    I’ll pray for you.

  17. IrishTony Says:

Well I predict Otton will have 600 receiving yards this year so what the hell are you talking about. He’s actually a good route runner. I wonder if half the people on this actually pay attention to the progress of players.

  18. WiseCrack Says:

LMAO this is why people will think we are one and the same. @Rod Munch

    Literally…

  19. Bobby Says:

I agree with Irish Tony, I believe Cade Otton is going to well this season. I think Cade is going to take a big jump in his progression this season. Just be patient, Bucs are in camp now and have a long season ahead. Things will be ok, Lets Go Bucs!!

    Bobby your post ironic.

It’s kind of like the NFL version of David vs Wagner. In the end, it’s just not comparable.

    Go Bucs

Wait, there’s someone that thinks we’re the same?

That’s ridiculous, I’d never say hurtful or mean things like that.

In fact, I was voted the most positive person on this site, which is why I created #TEAMPOSITIVE!

  22. WiseCrack Says:

Oh but Rod, I am all about #TEAMPOSITIVE!

For instance, I just got tested at One Buc. They said I was clear of MERSA. but am positive for AIDS.

Apparently, I got it from the food! Word has it, it was the new cook. His name slips my mind. Something to do with the oven being set to low and the food coming out raw. I blame everyone but the Baker.

    #TeamPositive for LIFE!!!
