Weather: Typical Tampa weather today and tonight after a cool and cloudy day yesterday. Per AccuWeather.com, this afternoon it is supposed to be cloudy. Look for the weather to be in the upper 80s for the tailgaters — good beer-drinking weather. By kickoff it should be in the mid-80s under cloudy skies. That temperature is expected to hold. When the game is over, look for it to be 80. Only a 20 percent chance of rain.

Odds: Per BetMGM, as of midnight, Bucs +3.0 (-160); over/under 37.5.

Outlook: This will be the first time fans who haven’t been lucky enough to attend training camp will get to see the starters and the new-look Bucs offense in person. Joe just hopes the starters look crisp. That’s all Joe’s asking. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were ready for the regular season on Day 1 of training camp, so Joe isn’t concerned about them. Evans tore up the Dolphins in the joint practice on Wednesday. As far as Joe is concerned, Joe wouldn’t lose one wink of sleep if Evans didn’t dress tonight. Same with Godwin. Maybe Tristan Wirfs, too. Two weeks ago Joe thought this team was deep on the offensive line and secondary. After the Bucs backup defensive backs got lit up last week in Jacksonville and in the joint practice with the Dolphins, and after seeing how the Dolphins pushed the Bucs offensive line around in the joint practice, Joe’s inclined to save the starters and let the backups play. If receivers Cody Thompson and Kameron Johnson have good games, specifically on special teams, Joe thinks these guys have a good shot to make the roster because Sterling Shepard has been hurt and Rakim Jarrett is always hurt. For Joe, that is the key for the backups. They must have good games on special teams. It also might help tight end Ko Kieft to have a big game. Joe isn’t confident in his job security. He has played very sparingly with the first-team offense which is a tip off that he needs to ball out on special teams. Rookie TE Devin Culp, on the other hand, has had several snaps with the first-team offense.

    Fish at Bucs…always good.

I’d like to see Irving catches passes with the first team offense and I’d like to see White run with them. We know Irving looks good running the ball and we know White is great catching the ball. The only questions are can Irving be good enough as a receiver out of the backfield, and has White learned to attack the holes?

Joe I live about 700 miles or so north of you. I am from Tampa so I get it when you say temps in the 80’s is good beer drinking weather. No argument here. But…being outside in the fall, temps in the mid 40’s sitting around a warm fire with family and friends, full moon so big you can almost touch it, cold beer in hand…heaven. Just heaven.

Should be fun. I don’t expect much. I would like to see a first drive TD. I also want to see CM4 make all his field goals. Both of these and a couple of cold ones would do!
