Sterling Shepard: Baker Mayfield At His Best When Disrespected

July 25th, 2024

Best when PO’ed.

The worst thing for Joe about training camp? No DVR for practices.

So much is happening and there are 22 guys on the field to monitor, not factoring in what’s happening on the sidelines.

Joe or anyone else misses something and it’s lost to history. No instant replay. No DVR to rewind and watch again.

So Joe cannot say how many, if any, first-team snaps Sterling Shepard had yesterday. The former Giants receiver was signed by the Bucs in the spring after some good years with the Giants. He’s been reunited with his old Oklahoma teammate, Baker Mayfield.

Joe noticed Shepard taking second- and third-team reps. That doesn’t mean he didn’t take any snaps with the first-team. Just that Joe didn’t see him.

Joe really believes if Shepard has any gas left, he could be a very nice addition.

Yesterday, NFL Network’s Sara Walsh spoke with Shepard after practice. She wanted to know more about Mayfield from someone who has played with him and has known him for years.

In her report for NFL Network, seen on “The Insiders” last night, Walsh explained that Shepard informed her Mayfield is the same as when the two were at Oklahoma. Mayfield, Shepard told Walsh, is at his best when he’s dissed.

And if Mayfield isn’t disrespected by media or opponents, he will drum up something to be p!ssed off about, Shepard told Walsh.

And yeah, nearly everyone seems to be waving off the Bucs’ chances of four-peating an NFC South crown. They say it can’t happen with Mayfield. He will regress. And Mayfield can’t lead the Bucs to another division title with Kirk Cousins now in Atlanta.

Uh oh, watch out NFC South.

That’s why I love all the disrespect from the national media. Baker and the team will use it to play harder. Baker loves to prove the critics wrong and Jason loves to keep track. Payback is a bitch !

All i hear is Charlie Browns teacher when the national media talks Buccaneers.

Michael Jordan used to do the same thing…although, in his case, opponents +really+ tried not to give him any material. lol

“That boy said ‘boy you don’t watch film’. Boy I called the play within two minutes of the game,” Gardner-Johnson said. “And I tossed that b—h back at you too. I hope you got it, make sure you send that with the jersey too.”

CJ Gardner-Johnson and his big mouth now play for the Eagles, who we face week 4. Is Baker ever going to get his get back? Next time on Dragon Ball Z!!
