In Lavonte David We Trust

Lavonte David

Oh, have faith ye’ Bucs fans, for at least one more season.

Though he toyed with retirement last year, Bucs icon Lavonte David admitted the way the team finished the season re-energized his football soul and led him to rejoin the Bucs for at least another one more go-around.

This may be David’s last year. He’s 34 after all, a true graybeard in the NFL. But as long as David is on the field, Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com said the Bucs’ linebacker corps is in good hands.

K.J. Britt figures to be Devin White’s replacement next to Lavonte David. As long as David is there, I have faith in the linebackers.

It’s hard to disagree. David is still so good that he makes players around him better. Joe shudders to think how far off Devin White would have fallen if he wasn’t playing beside David.

Could David play another year? Two more seasons? Perhaps. As long as he can keep Father Time away and get out on the field, the Bucs will be a threat defensively.

I so loved his highlight film that I watched it 3 times. It is long, too. 🙂

Lavonte says he is re-energized in his soul. That says so much. Thinking at least two more years. He is one of the best and underrated too. Deserves a lot of respect.

  4. Bucs And Them Says:

Hope Lavonte comes back for next season then, we draft a stud ILB in the top 3 rounds to be Lavonte’s protege. Also draft a stud DT in the top 3 rounds as well. Let the two young studs come in together and grow with Kancy, Diaby, and Braswell along with our veterans and, our defense will be set up nicely for the next 7 to 8 years.

I will go on record again and admit that for a time, I did not give Lavonte the respect he deserved. Those were dark times for Bucs fans!

LVD has shown the league that he is one of the best at the position and should garner HOF consideration. At a minimum, he deserves a seat next to DB55 as one of the greatest Buc LB’ers of all time!

    Go Bucs!

    TWO SEASONS
LVD isn’t a HOF candidate without this year. He just doesn’t have the awards (Pro Bowl and All NFL) but he’s a bubble candidate after this season. 2 more seasons averaging 100 tackles and 8 tackles for a loss and he’s a HOF lock.

Without him having to drag Diva’s lazy carcass around, covering for him, LVD should have an even better season in 2024. Excited
