“I Genuinely Cannot Find Eight Solid Wins”

July 9th, 2024

Erin Kate Dolan.

So the gambling crowd that dabbles in ESPNBet is very familiar with one of ESPN’s top handicapping analysts, the famous Erin Kate Dolan.

Dolan dives into all kinds of exotic wagers and turned her attention to the NFC South last week. On her EKD show, she chose four over/under bets tied to the NFC South that currently have her leaning firmly in a certain direction.

Three were tied to player performance. The other was the Bucs’ final 2024 record.

As most Bucs fans know and hate, Tampa Bay’s win total over/under for this season has been set at 7 1/2. It was 6 1/2 last season and the Bucs won nine games. Dolan picked the Bucs to go “under” this season, as in win seven or less games.

“I genuinely cannot find eight solid wins with this team right now. They also lost their offensive coordinator in Dave Canales,” Dolan explained. “… Again, can’t find eight wins.”

Dolan went on to talk about the Bucs’ “extremely difficult” early schedule and how the NFC South should be more competitive this season.

Interestingly, Dolan acknowledged that going under with the Bucs may be considered by some to be “hot take right now,” but that was not the intention.

Joe is glad so few have jumped on the Bucs’ bandwagon. It’ll make the winning more sweet.

While Joe doesn’t expect the Falcons to beat the Steelers on opening day in Atlanta, if that happens, the Falcons hype will go even further off the charts.

Dolan closed her segment picking the Bucs to finish in third place behind the Falcons and Saints, respectively.

Guess the Falcons early schedule is a cake walk in her eyes…..

  5. #99 the big fella Says:

Why even give her the platform?I could definitely go a day or two without all the negative articles everyday..

  6. ocala Says:

Bucs strengthened their roster from last year and the Bucs were within one score of the NFC Championship game. If the Bucs are relatively healthy, I am confident the Bucs can build off of what they did last year.

  7. heyjude Says:

Disappointed again with another analyst. When the Falcons and Saints end up being not so great, will all the analysts apologize? Doubt it.

  8. gofortheface30 Says:

What is it about the Steelers that makes you so sure that they’ll march in to Atlanta and win? Not to defend a division rival, but the Steelers have been supremely mediocre for years now and arguably not as talented as Atlanta with Atlanta having a Quarterback that, for whatever anyone has to say about Cousins – puts up huge numbers. Taking him One thousand times out of a thousand over “dangeruss”

  9. Defense Rules Says:

Will say one thing for her, she has very white teeth.

  10. TampaBayBucFan Says:

    Here’s 8

    Carolina 2x
    Wash
    NYG
    Denver
    LV
    Atlanta 1x
    Saints 1x

Beyand that, we have to win a couple of games we shouldn’t.

  11. David Says:

To an ousider, they lost Shaq and their best CB so I can see why many aren’t picking them to do well.

BUT I see a better O-Line, OC and WR corps
I think they are on the verge of having a consistent pass rush with the front 4-5.
I think the DB’s are overall better.
    LB is a concern

Personally. I see 10-11 wins. I also do not understand this notion that they start out with a tough schedule. I see 4-2, which they will need because then they have Ravens, KC, & SF 3 out of 4 weeks.

  12. SlyPirate Says:

Seriously? I see 8 games the Bucs will be favored in the spread …

WAS, DEN, ATL, @NYG, @CAR, LV, CAR, NO

No way the Bucs get swept by Det, Phi, KC, SF, LAC, and DAL.

Win the games you’re supposed to win and split the rest: 11 wins.

  13. ModHairKen Says:

TampaBayBucFan, you just convinced me. Hard Rock app being fired up.

  14. Capt.Tim Says:

Anyone think she was hired for her brains?

  15. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Last 4 articles are negative.

    Way to build anticipation! lol

  16. Kgh4life Says:

These are the same people who believed the addition of Derek Carr to the Saints will make them a division winner.

  17. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I will say this: Dave Canales was not a good offensive coordinator for us.

The national media is giving him tons of props…but in truth, his offense was very up and down here.

People like this simply do not know this team.

  18. Boss Says:

hot, dumb and full o’ xox

  19. Boss Says:

her teeth are pearly white as they say.

we need more of her opinions

  20. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I cannot begin to fathom why…but I just have a good feeling about Liam Coen. I’m hoping he does a bang-up job.

  21. heyjude Says:

    Kgh4life Says:
“These are the same people who believed the addition of Derek Carr to the Saints will make them a division winner.”

Agreed. Derek Carr and also Kirk Cousins are getting way too much hype.

  22. Derek Says:

She needs to be just seen, not heard.

  23. Jp3 Says:

@face maybe it my come down to coaching…I’ll take the Tomlin over Morris.love both of course because they made names for themselves here with our buccaneers as assistants would have liked to see how Mike would have worked out as our head coach 😉

  24. Drunkinybor Says:

But she can easily swallow 9 solid losses as we succumb to the sucking.

  25. Jake been there since the beginning Says:

These people will never fail to come up with some witch doctor crap. Let the sh:t flow, all of the real Bucs fans know where we stand. There’s a few questions about a couple of areas but other than that I think Tykee will contribute in one, LB hope Britt is ready for the big time, online get it right fast so they can gel as much as possible. If the young guys do it all season that will be great. I like what Rich Eisen said myself and take his word over all of these people that just seem to come out of the littlest corner just trying to take a jam mean very little. Scratching a couple of quarters together trying to get a lot… Let’s Do This!!!

  26. Dave Pear Says:

She couldn’t find her arse with both hands. Trending towards a horsey.

  27. LANshark Says:

To an ousider, they lost Shaq and their best CB so I can see why many aren’t picking them to do well.

BUT I see a better O-Line, OC and WR corps

And an improved secondary (-neal and -davis, +McCollum/Hall/Thomas) and an improved OLB (-White +ANYBODY) and a better D-Line (-shaq +Braswell)

  28. J Says:

Her opinion is about as solid as water.

  29. Noclu4u Says:

When they find out that Diaby and Kancy are going to put up 25 sacks between the two of them and Bucs can run the ball a whole lot better they going to do the Olympic back pedal .

  30. Greg Says:

This is modern media. Some sort of narrative forms, usually based on guesses. Then everyone circles the narrative trying to put a spin on it repeating the same thing over and over.

  31. Dewey Selmon Says:

I’ll take 7 solid wins, 3 shaky wins and 1 fluke victory. That’s 11-7 stfu lady.

  32. adam from ny Says:

too dolled up to know anything about ball 🙂

  33. Dave Pear Says:

A horse is a horse of course of course.

  34. Curse of Gruden Says:

    Those teeth glow.

  35. Buc4evr Says:

Where do these morons come from? I don’t pretend to know much about football, but at least I played in HS, and know it’s a fools errand to try to forecast a team’s success w/o knowing anything about the players or coaches. It appears that this woman is simply a parrot and knows nothing about the Bucs, Btw, losing Canales was win by subtraction.

  36. GoneGator Says:

Easy friggin money. Too bad I’m too broke to bet 🤣

  37. Tim Says:

Screw that talking head. She got her job by being pretty. She knows more about makeup than the Bucs. I have us at 11 wins and that is with splitting with the Dixie Chicks. Seriously, they hire hotties and teach them this crap. Bucs win the Division again.

  38. LWR BUC MAN Says:

She is a skirt-football is for man talk

  39. ballwasher61 Says:

Her Teeth glow cause of the spray tan, sheesh

  40. ballwasher61 Says:

And this, my friends, is why blonds are made fun of.

  41. Brandon Says:

We didn’t lose our office of coordinator, we were fortunate to get rid of him. What we have now is a significant upgrade. Who cares if she can’t find eight wins, this is a 10 plus win team. The game is played on the field, not on these people that know nothing about the teams Minds. Their opinions are worthless

  42. ScottyMack Says:

I have to agree with TampaBayBucFan on his 8 wins, but I also think that San Diego is WAY overhyped, which gets the Bucs to 9 wins (their strength will be running the ball, which the Bucs will shut down). If they win any of the other 8 games, they do even better (Cowboys, 49ers, Eagles, Lions, Chiefs, Ravens … and better than a split with the Saints or Falcons).

Of course, things could go the other way. If they don’t at least spit with the Falcons or Saints, it’s entirely possible she is right. There are probably only six “locks” this season for the Bucs (Panthers x 2, Broncos, Raiders, Giants, Commanders). So, she’s not entirely incorrect if folks would just take their rose colored glasses off for a minute. Of course, very few teams probably have a ton of “locks” on their schedule.

  43. Dave Pear Says:

Saddle her up and give her a carrot.

  44. Louis Friend Says:

A woman who’s claim to fame is her looks isn’t an analyst. A degree in journalism is the extent of her football wisdom. If she weren’t a piece of eye candy she’d be waiting tables at Denny’s.

  45. WNCBucsFan Says:

She didn’t make the cut as a Swashbuckler, so she has an axe to grind. Just my take. Bucs take 11 this year.

  46. Booger Says:

I think she’s embarrassing (to herself, for lots of reasons)… A straight up clown. And, it has absolutely nothing to do with this (“8-wins”). My NFL Sunday Show is “Fantasy Football Now” (for DFS), & she’s just embarrassing on so many levels. Awful. And, that ESPN Bet (or whatever) commercial!? Lmao

  47. Trask To The Future Says:

Odds are really high that Mayfield will regress this season.

  48. Stanglassman Says:

Before entering the sports betting world, Dolan was a sports reporter at PHL17 in Philadelphia and a sideline reporter for the Philadelphia Wings. She graduated summa cum laude from Penn State University in 2018 with a broadcast journalism degree.

Kyle Brandt was a soap opera actor in the real world and day of our lives before getting into sports. Why are all the men questioning his looks and ability to prognostic the future? He has the Bucs finishing #19.

  49. HC Grover Says:

Pre season prognostication is a hoot.

  50. garro Says:

My guess is that she has touble finding her car keys as well.

I guess I will have to resign myself to the fact that Joe will never run out of these folks. SMH

    Geez!

  51. go dawgs Says:

i wouldnt kick her out of the bed

  52. FrontFour Says:

    Stoke the locker room.

  53. Kyle Says:

Yeah that 23rd place Dave Canales was really impressive…

  54. gotbbucs Says:

Can the offense generate chunk yard plays and then can they convert redzone trips into TD’s instead of field goal attempts?
We have very little juice on offense. Evans is obviously still a very good reciever, but he’s not a catch and run guy, so if he doesn’t catch it in the end zone, we still have to find a way to get it in there. Godwin is the same way. We still need someone that can get seperation, catch a ball, make a move, and find the goal line.

  55. Locked In Says:

Looked for a Scott Wurster comment…

  56. Kb Says:

Can you make a comment section where people can actually reply to others?

Cousins is coming off of a bad injury into a new system and typically starts off slow most years. He has not been practicing and nobody knows his actual condition. Atlanta will be about 3 -3 to start the year.

  58. Goodbuc'nlife Says:

@Bucsfan55 or the number to her plastic surgeon for a touch up.

  59. SenileSenior Says:

Greg, what we’ve got is sloppy/journalism. My father is churning in his grave! (Love you,Dad! 😢)

    Go Bucs!

  60. Dave Pear Says:

Trashk to the Past – Odds are really high that Trashk will regress to third string this season.

Bet the farm on Baker regressing, though. Someone else will gladly accept those funds.

  61. Don'tBmad Says:

Howard Cosell had better takes and he
    NEVER PLAYED THE GAME

  62. Stan says Says:

Come on Joe??? Why do we care what she says, the Buc never get any respect. Here is a head line for you next week Joe. (Sports commentary personally says.) Baker Mayfield suck his M.O. is he is so up and down over the last few seasons even though he was the Pro bowl MVP and Mike Evans is washed up and over paid look for him to have a down season with of course a new officenive coordinator. And Tood Bowles are you kidding me is over his head as a head Coach. The Buc won’t win more the 7 games if the are lucky maybe 8. Now the Falcons now there’s a team that could win 10 or 11 games this season with the signing of washed up/ aka the savor that is kurt Cousins. Stop with the nonsense articles. P.S. Stans perdition 10 win possibly 12 but hay I am a homer Bucs fan for sure.

  63. Stan says Says:

Print that article Joe, it’s got to be as good as some of the so CALLED expert. Give me a dadgum break I am sick of these people hating on the Bucs. My word they piss me off something to no end.

  64. Rod Munch Says:

I would take the under as well.

People pretend like this team wasn’t 4-7 last year when it faced one of the most ridiculous string of opponents on losing streaks that you’ll ever see. Obviously you give credit for winning those games, but you need to look at how the teams they beat were playing at the time they beat them. The only teams the Bucs faced that weren’t playing awful at the end of the year was the Saints and Lions, both loses. The Packers were in a defensive funk where, in a row, they made Tommy Divito, Baker and Bryce Young all look like future HOFers. The Jags were in a funk. They barely beat Carolina twice. The Eagles were at the end of a historic collapse. If you’re trying to predict the future, and not just being a fanboy, you’ll have some legit questions about what this team is and if they can just glide by on another cupcake schedule.

That’s just being realistic – if you choose to live in fantasy land, good for you – and I sincerely hope you’re right and I’m wrong. I was wrong last year — well over the last few games anyways as I literally had them 4-7 in my game by game picks. But hopefully they can get it done again, not rooting against them at all, I just would rather be surprised in a positive way as opposed to when I was a kid and year after year after year after year watching them lose 10 games or more and never see it coming.

  65. Billy Says:

    Never heard of her.
