Mike Evans Adding To Hall Of Fame Resume
June 9th, 2024If Mike Evans has a prolific year, not only should he crush any doubt he will be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he may become a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
Bucs fans know all about Evans and his streak of 1,000-yard receiving seasons. He’s got 10 in 10 years. That’s 10 seasons in a row for 11,680 yards. Remarkable!
But if Evans can also catch 10 touchdown passes this season along with his customary 1,000 yards, he will be in very, very rare company.
Five times Evans has had both 1,000 yards or more and at least 10 touchdowns. That ties him with Hall of Fame receivers Cris Carter and Lance Alworth. Damn good company there. But if Evans hits the 1,000/10 mark again for the sixth time in his career, he’ll be among only four other receivers that have accomplished that: Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison, Terrell Owens and Randy Moss. All are in the Hall of Fame.
Rice got there nine times in his unprecedented career. Harrison, Owens and Moss each accomplished this feat eight times.

Most career seasons with 1,000+ receiving yards and 10+ receiving TDs:
Jerry Rice – 9
Marvin Harrison – 8
Terrell Owens – 8
Randy Moss – 8
Mike Evans – 5
Cris Carter – 5
Lance Alworth – 5— NFL Stats (@NFL_Stats) April 10, 2024

Itās an absolute privilege sitting in Ray Jay watching Mike destroy MFāers. Iām in the SW corner end zone, upper deck and so many of Mikeās TD come right at us. The 3 TD game v Carolina game might have been the most dominant performance Iāve ever witnessed in person. HOF LFG GO BUCS ME13!!

I think if Mike retired tomorrow, he’s a Hall of Famer. His resume speaks for itself, even with some confounding drops.

It’s been an absolute honor to watch as a life long bucs fan , ME13 putting in work to become the most prolific & productive offensive player in team history . Been really fun to watch & I’m looking forward to watching him & the team for as many more years he got in him..
GO BUCS !! HEY HEY TAMPA BAY !

I would have said the same thing about Ronde. Never underestimate the northeast and big market bias. Despite all of his accomplishments, Mike has an uphill battle to be a first ballot HOFer.
June 9th, 2024 at 4:57 pm
Will the Tampa Bay hating media types on the HoF committee discount Evansā thousand yard seasons since heās played nothing but 16 and 17 game seasons?
June 9th, 2024 at 5:16 pm
An article the other day about Godwin and the site suggesting that Godwin is dominant. Can’t be dominant without getting lots of TDs.
ME does that.
Since ME has come into the league, he and Davonta Adams are the two TD makers as receivers. Both HOF guys.

They’re going to have to put asterisks with his years with Mayfield because fanbois are going to demand that he’s given the credit for Evan’s Hall of Fame numbers.
June 9th, 2024 at 7:25 pm
I believe heās a first ballot HOFāR as long as he has decent years to close out his career. I hope he continues the streak of thousand yard seasons as well as have more double digit TD seasons but I donāt think itās necessary. The thing that he has, beyond hall of fame numbers is the media hyping his record every year. The name recognition is there. He just needs 15 more TDs and 3 thousand more yards and heās first ballot

I also was at Mikes Carolina game at home in Bradyās last season and all 3 of those TDās came in the end zone that we were sitting in. A HoF career must have exclamation points and Super Bowls. Hopefully there will be more of each of them for Mike. He is the absolute epitome of consistency

A manās man. A true family man and role model that happens to play for the Bucs. Lucky us. We are blessed as fans to have such a person to watch at home. Keep on keeping on big mike and thanks for the memories!

So 6 times @ 1000/10 will put him in 5th place all by himself. When he gets 8 you can start comparing Evans to the other 3 with 8. Not until. That kind of reasoning you could say Mayfield is first ballot HOF with his 130 TDā s. After all that is as many as Peyton Manning and Tom Brady had a one time.
Evans definitely has the yardage and TDās to make the HOF. Heāll need 3 more 1000/10 seasons to make a push for first ballot. Might want to get a 1st Team All Pro along the way to add to that resume also.

Mike Evans has 10 1000 yards consecutive seasons he’s about to tie rice that alone is HOF Worthy

DavidBigBuc???
You call yourself a fan? You let your personal prejudice against Baker let you post like that on a thread ABOUT ME13?
Do you have any pride at all? We know that obviously you’re rooting against the Bucs as long as Baker is the starting QB. Really class David!!!

Evans is already tied with Rice , Harrison, and Moss for the only players with 12 or more TDs in 5 seasons. If he does it again, he will be one of one

i’d pencil in mike with around 15k+ for his career…and i do think, if he caught the brady bug, and is thinking “long game” or “long distance runner”, he might have his eye on unseating larry fitzgerald for the #2 all time yardage spot…gonna be tough tho…
and chris is looking like a 10k+ guy as well…2 big time years and he’d already be playing around with close to 9k…
only time and many injury free seasons will tell the tale, in the not for long league

Get Mike some of those 50/50 balls in the red zone Coen!
With Mike its more like 90/10.
Go Bucs!
June 10th, 2024 at 4:29 am
Mike Evans is the guy and is a Hall of Famer. When he gets the ball and runs into the end zone there is nothing like it!
June 10th, 2024 at 8:54 am
Mike Evans is a class act and what every young player should model themselves after. A true professional on and off the field. I love Mike Evans and may be my favorite buc of all time right up there with Brooks, Sapp, Ronde, and Dunn! Thanks Mike. We Tampa fans are extremely blessed to watch you every Sunday in the fall!
June 10th, 2024 at 9:59 am
Glad the media says its ok that we can start calling M1k3 a Hall of Famer now. Hopefully they will let us start talking about Lavonte next…. Because he deserves it too. On a path almost up there with Evans.
June 10th, 2024 at 11:19 am
Mike Evans is my all time favorite Buc. I pray š that he keeps getting better every year and over takes them all. He definitely deserves it. Heās rewrote the Diva reputation receivers had and changed that narrative to unselfish winner. Keep up the hard work Mike, he will be in the HOF.

@WilieG – I don’t think that will matter, as it’s only been 2 seasons (so far) with 17 games, and he only actually played 16 games the first season anyways.
