“Cool” Moment Coming On Opening Weekend For Rachaad White

June 21st, 2024

Prediction.

As former long-time White Sox broadcaster Hawk Harrelson might say about the Bucs hosting the Commandos Week 1, “You can put it on the bbboooaaarrrddd… yes!”

Eat a “W” on Week 1. Who said this? Rachaad White said this.

The Bucs’ running back appeared on “The Jim Rome Show” yesterday. Rome asked White about what it would be like if his former Arizona State quarterback and teammate, rookie Jayden Daniels, gets the starting nod that day.

The Commandos drafted Daniels No. 2 overall. After White left Arizona State to be drafted by the Bucs, so too did Daniels, who transferred to LSU.

White admitted if Daniels starts, it will be a memorable day for him as he’s still tight with Daniels. But he doesn’t believe the day will be so memorable for Daniels’ teammates.

“It’s cool though that his first loss will come from me,” White told Rome.

So the gauntlet has been thrown down by White.

Look, the Bucs are good. They’ve been in the playoffs the past four years, which included a Super Bowl win. Washington is an awful team. They’ve got work to do to turn around a former glamour franchise in our nation’s capital.

If the Bucs start 3-1, they have a path to 10 wins. Of course one of those three wins should come against Washington.

    Rachaad will make it happen!

Mean Gene will be famously quoted in this one me thinks!

    “Touchdown White!”

    Go Bucs!

  2. heyjude Says:

Love the video! Rachaad talks to Daniels most everyday and this meet-up is going to be so fun to watch. Go Rachaad go!

  3. ATLBUC Says:

It will be great having an extra motivated White coming out of the gates. A great performance could propel him to an all star season. I see him getting 1600-2000 all purpose yards.

  4. Lt. Dan Says:

@ATLBUC: That’s a pretty ambitious prediction for White, especially given that Bucky Irving will probably get a fair amount of touches. Of course as a Bucs fan I hope you’re right. For some reason though, I’m still not fully sold on White.

That young man has never met a mic or camera he didn’t like

  6. JimBobBuc Says:

Maybe Daniels can swing a trade to get White to Washington and the Bucs get an edge in return.

  7. WilieG Says:

Our beloved Bucs: play down to the level of competition, suck against rookie or backup QBs, all too frequently suck at home, and seemingly never capitalize on extra preparation time. Sad, but true.

  8. geno711 Says:

    6 rushing TD’s last season.

Here is hoping that we get better interior offensive line play and can at least double that this coming season.

  9. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

How about you find some holes or break a tackle here or there before you start flapping feathers Rashaad. Too much talking, not enough production.

  10. Cobraboy Says:

“It’s cool though cause his first loss will come from me.”

I wish this guy would just shut up and play.

BTW, White, you don’t play D unless you put the ball on the ground, so you got nuttin’ to do with anything Daniels does or doesn’t do.

I despise unaccomplished athletes with big mouths.

  11. GP Says:

    Oh ye(s) of little faith!

  12. Dave Pear Says:

Just win the first one. Too early to give bulletin board material. And Rachaad needs to cork up the yack hole.

  13. unbelievable Says:

What does “belt to arse” mean lol?

  14. Ed McSherry Says:

Rachaad was 8th among running backs last year for “PFF Wins Above Average.” With a decimated O-line; soon to be greatly improved.
