Old Bucs Friend Signed By Dixie Chicks

April 9th, 2024

New Atlanta cornerback Kevin King watches Scotty Miller torch him in the 2020 NFC title game.

The Dixie Chicks just signed a man directly responsible for one of the greatest plays in Bucs history. And Joe is sure that Mike Evans is smiling.

Remember the 2020 NFC title game? Late in the first half following a pick by Sean Murphy-Bunting, the Bucs decided to throw a bomb in the final seconds. Jumping Scotty Miller burned past Packers corner Kevin King and caught a bomb from Tom Brady that gave the Bucs a 21-10 lead at halftime. It proved to be the difference in the game.

The Bucs would go on to win 31-26 and two weeks later win the Super Bowl.

Well. yesterday, the Dixie Chicks signed King. And long-time Atlanta beat guy D. Orlando Ledbetter subtly torched the Dixie Chicks for adding King to the roster. (See below)

Now King and Miller are teammates in Atlanta.

Somewhere, Evans is a happy camper with this latest move by Atlanta. It is wild that King has been out of the league since 2021.

Burned again.

Oh this is hilarious. I roasted the absolute heck out of all my Packers friends about Kevin King. First the Mike Evans tuddy, then Scotty Miller right before the half and then the PI/Holding on Tyler Johnson to seal the game. Absolutely priceless!

    King and Miller together. Interesting.

I just saw a video of Baker and Scotty working out together. Scotty is a free agent. Would the Bucs ever take Scotty back too? I think he still lives here.

Love Scotty. Look forward to him scorching up the seam.

  6. Irishmist Says:

They just picked him up to help boost their offense’s confidence during preseason workouts.

    Irishmist- LOL!

What a game that was. Celebrating an NFC championship at Lambeau Field! Thanks once again, Tom Brady.

I like pointing out to my Packer friends that it wasn’t a total loss for the few who were able to attend. At least they got some good exercise by feverishly smacking whatever those big signs were that they all had against the seats to try to make some noise. It looked like the were trying to play Whack a Mole.

    ‘79 Defense — great handle.

Ahh, we can only dream of a properly run 3-4 defense like that. It helps to have an all-universe player like Selmon, obviously. Dude beat triple teams. And all the LBs could tackle and run. The game is way different now. But still, if Todd would go back and watch film of that defense maybe he would get some ideas.

Or he’d just over-complicate it like everything he likes to do.

Perhaps you forgot that Brady threw THREE INTERCEPTIONS that game???
Defense won that game in the 2nd half – plain and simple.

Perhaps the Falcons will end up with more production than the Bucs did when they signed Richard Sherman for depth at that position.

Any given day even a pros pro can look bad. I remember a second Super Bowl run come to an end by a Bucs defender getting beat on a Bomb also.

Thanks Dave Pear. —The original Dave Pear is now 70. Hard to believe.

Pickgrin— the thanking Tom Brady was partly for the whole season. No way we’re winning the SB without him, and maybe not the NFCCG, three int’s or not. Would you have wanted another QB for that game?

Even better was Fournette bulldozing the guy and his team, then King ended up face down at the goal line. No wonder he has been out of the league.

I thought Scotty was a free agent. Did Atlanta resign him?
