  1. TomBucsFan Says:

round 1 has to be interior OL, EDGE, or a trade back.

  2. Joseph C Simmons Says:

At 26, it’s gotta be BPA

  3. WilieG Says:

I voted “edge” but if adding a 1st round center meant White would be as much of a threat running as he is receiving, I’d rather have that.

  4. MadMax Says:

    Trade to 19 for Powers….

  5. A Bucs Fan Says:

Agreed. top targeted IOL, EDGE or trade back to draft BPA.

  6. Olboy Says:

    C. E. N. T. E. R.

Individual position names everywhere else. Joe might be sweet on Hainsey.

  7. Buc1987 Says:

I’m with Max…get Powers even if they have to trade up.

  8. Jimmyp Says:

I know edge is important but Bowles is the king of making the most out of those pressure attempts without a dominant pass rusher. Since Todd Bowles arrival, Tampa has been no worse than 7th in sacks. Every team needs more depth at edge but the need isn’t as pressing as advertised.

How about corner? Tampa has the 5th most INTs in the past 5 years. I voted for corner before really looking at the numbers but I’ve reconsidered based on Bowles record for developing dbs

When it comes to LBS, tampa will continue to be solid while we still have Lavonte + an up and coming YaYa.

Ultimately, we don’t need a qb but I’d only consider a potential franchise qb like Michael Penix, if he’s there. If he’s not. Trade back into rd 2, take JPJ + extra picks this/next year or use that extra 3rd from Carlton Davis to move up for Penix. We need a longterm qb even if Baker plays well in the short term…….remember, Baker is tough but we’ve seen how his play is impacted by injuries in Tampa (see week 18 vs Panthers) as well as in Cleveland.

  9. Faspro Says:

    Center

  10. c-spann Says:

EDGE! C Van Pran should be there in the second

  11. gotbbucs Says:

    @MadMax and 1987

Licht should be fired immediately if he trades up seven spots for a fat center with one year of starting experience in the Pac 12.
That guy is not going to transition from college to being a great NFL center. The NFL draft media is waaaay too high on him.

  12. Steven007 Says:

At 26 it’s BPA at a position of need, always.

  13. Steven007 Says:

gotbucs, I’m with you. I agree that we need a center. Possibly at 26. More likely in the second or third round. I’m not sure any team has ever traded up for a center in the history of the draft. Would be interesting to find out.

  14. Steven007 Says:

Both Dermonti Dawson and Dwight Stevenson, two of the best centers I’ve ever seen play, were drafted in the middle of the second round. We all know that Jensen was a six round pick originally at guard. Transitioned to center over his career and became a very good one.

  15. Buc1987 Says:

At 26 all the decent “edge” rushers will all be gone ya Silly Sallys.

    CENTER!

  16. Tackleblockwin Says:

I’m just pleased to see that the poll results indicate The majority of my fellow Bucs fans appreciate and realize winning at the line of scrimmage is important. Debating this is always fun and informative. Let’s Go!

  17. Usedtocould Says:

I missed my chance to vote, but I would have picked pro bowl caliber starter for two contracts.

That all means absoultuely zero. You are sounding like Joe. You don’t draft based on history of past drafts but by the talent level in the PRESENT draft.

I keep readig this silliness here. Like this is Madden and every year the designated amount of talent at a osition is in the designated rounds. No . its real life and sometimes who you want or should want is not going to be in the same round from last year or two. Put down the Playstation Or Xbox.

  19. Boge Says:

All this talk about trading up for a C/G is hilarious.

The first round is for BPA… this is how we got Kancy. QB was a much higher need than DT last year. Hindsight being what it is, we got an absolute steal!!!

With all the QB and WR talent in this draft, incredible players will slide down. We have too many holes to trade a day 2 pick to move up in round 1. Keep the 4 picks and address needs on day 2.

  20. Steven007 Says:

Tony, if you note my previous post above the one that you seem to be critical of, I’m basically agreeing with you. Of course you draft based on the talent level of the draft. That’s why I keep saying best player available at a position of need. If that seems to be center so be it.

  21. Pewter941 Says:

It depends what edge and olineman are available. So best player available at positions of need.

  22. mg Says:

o-line makes everyone better – do it

  23. MadMax Says:

Gotbucszzzz, whatever you’re smoking and buzzing on, please put it down. He’ll probably be the top C in the nfl and we’ll have him cheap for a while.

  24. Ryan Smith Says:

This DE class sucks. Last year’s was really deep and everyone knew cause of all the underclassmen that entered last years draft that this class was gonna be weak. Don’t think there is gonna be one at 26 with a 1st round grade on them.

  25. Donald Says:

I’d love to see the Bucs pick up a tackle like Amarius Mims if he’s available. Reasons: 1) Goedeke could move back to guard, where he has a higher ceiling. 2) Depth of tackles in this draft is higher than edge rushers, a better talent will be available at 26 at tackle. 3) Much better value in having a good RT on a rookie contract for 5 years than a C.

Maybe pick up Van Pran in the 2nd.

  26. Joe Says:

    1) Goedeke could move back to guard, where he has a higher ceiling.

Goedeke was moved to right tackle for a reason. He was a disaster at guard. He’s not bad at right tackle. He’s not moving back to guard. Certainly not in the near future.

  27. Donald Says:

He’s not bad at right tackle.

But, is this a good reason to pass on elite talent at a premium position like RT? If Goedeke can’t be salvaged than so be it, although he did only have one full season at guard so maybe he just needs patience. I just think he was worse than “not bad”, and I think the reasons are lack of length and lateral quickness. He’s not gonna learn those things with patience.
I can already tell yours is the majority opinion, but it still surprises me that more fans aren’t intrigued by the large number of tackle prospects in this draft. It doesn’t happen every year.

  28. Donald Says:

FYI, it seems 7 tackles are getting first-round grades and 4 of those (Latham, Fuaga, Mims and Guyton) played RT instead of LT. That fact, plus an abundance of receivers and qb’s (as many as 6 in the first round?) could push 1 of those 4 to 26th. Tempting to upgrade the 3rd most important position on offense…?
