Who better to break down a future Hall of Fame receiver (Mike Evans) than a Hall of Fame defensive back (Rondé Barber)?
The Bucs this afternoon twittered out a cool video with Barber, the Bucs’ Hall of Fame defensive back, doing an X’s and O’s study of Evans, who someday will join Barber in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Barber explained to viewers why Evans is able to be elite at the age of 30. Some highlights:
* “If you’ve got any type of football knowledge, you don’t let this guy out of your building.”
* “Playing big: That’s the best thing about him. The size and the ability to make these contested catches define him.”
* Mike has never really been given credit in his career for being a great route runner. Now when I put the film on, I see a lot great things with Mike, especially in his ability to move [a defensive back] out of space.”
* One thing that separates Mike I think from the other big play receivers is his ability to make really tough catches.”
* “Mike has the ability — and we use him this way — to line up all over the football field.”
* “If you are a corner, what do you do? [Evans is] 6-5, 230. He can run. He can catch. And, he just embarrasses you time and time and time and time again. He is faster than you think. He’s better than you think. He’s probably better than we give him credit for. But he’s ours.”
The last point Barber made was the best: He’s still on the roster. And that’s the most important element in Evans’ game.

Knew this was gonna be an article about Evans just from reading the title.
That catch he showed against the Eagles was simply ridiculous. One-handed, behind him, while being hit and pushed 5 yards sideways by the defender. Unreal.

Mike Evans is the greatest receiver in Bucs history and will be in the top 10 all time in the NFL when he’s done and Loss your one of the biggest idiots that posts on the site.

Do yourselves a favor and go watch the 2002 Bucs playoff game vs the 49ers, where Aikman and Buck are talking about how Bucs are going to have a hard time shutting down Terrell Owens because Ronde is undersized. LOL! Yeah, watch that game, and see Ronde put on a an absolute clinic, and he’d have not only completely shutdown Owens, but would have got a TD had Rice not taken a stupid personal foul on an INT return, where Rice was on the other side of the field and just cheap shot a guy. If the Bucs got that 7 points, they would have literally outscored the opposing offenses during the plays since they only gave up a net of 3 points on their way to the SB.
Anywho, a Ronde vs Evans match-up would have been something.
