Would You Take A Cam Jordan Clone (Without The Lip)?

February 22nd, 2024

Missouri DE Darius Robinson.

No player trolls Bucs fans — and Bucs fans loathe no player — like Cam Jordan of the slimy Saints.

Such is Jordan’s personality that former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik drafted a dude with a deformed arm rather than deal with Jordan’s mouth.

Jordan, who put up Joe Tryon-Shoyinka numbers last year and appears washed, may be coming close to the end of his NFL days but his clone is coming in the 2024 NFL Draft.

That would be Missouri edge rusher Darius Robinson.

In his pre-combine teleconference today, NFL Network draft analyst and former Eagles and Crows scout Daniel Jeremiah said Robinson reminds him of a carbon copy of Jordan due to his size and athleticism.

Jeremiah, after speaking with several team personnel folks, believes that Robinson will be picked somewhere in the 20s. The Bucs, in terrible need of an edge rusher, select at No. 26 in April’s draft.

So, Joe asks you Bucs fans, could you handle a Jordan clone, only without his lip?

Apparently, Robinson dominated Senior Bowl practices. Joe knows Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht loves guys who shine at the Senior Bowl.

    YES PLEASE!

I would like Tampa to draft this guy at 26 or trade back a few spots and still get him. He is like Simeon Rice 2.0

  2. Ultra ClodHopper Says:

I’d take the close with the lip. The lip is fun when it’s on your team

  3. heyjude Says:

    Yes, definitely!

I was shouting at the TV to draft Cameron Jordan at our pick and would of drafted Heyward who ended up at the Steelers if Jordan was not a available. They had better stats and better tape then the guy we drafted whose name I cannot even remember. Biggest draft for DEs ever and one of the Buccaneers biggest draft blunders ever. I’ ve been a hard core fan since the first win in 1977 and draftnik since 78 and I’ve see. some bad picks. Dumbnik for sure! Still pissed off. Cam Jordan at least will go to the HOF.

  5. cometowin2 Says:

Also if his mouth was a problem to his team he wouldn’t of been with theSaints since he was drafted!!!

  6. D-Rok Says:

Oh, absolutely yes. And please and thank you.

  7. Lt. Dan Says:

“could you handle a Jordan clone, only without his lip?” Short answer…hell yea!

  8. D-Rok Says:

Love his awareness, and he diagnoses plays exceptionally quick. Would really like this kid, this dawg, on our team – we need one like him!

  9. cometowin2 Says:

Logan Hall needs to be replaced as bad as Hainsey and the LG so draft this guy if he’s there. Re-sign Evans and Mayfield so we’ll have this luxury.

  10. Dave Pear Says:

    A great idea.

  11. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Darius Robinson is projected to be a DT vs a DE in the NFL. I guessing this is due the fact he’s kind of slow for DE. Runs a 5.10 in the 40.

  12. Fansince76 Says:

Fark Yea!! definitely draft this guy if he is there but i think he will be gone by 26.

  13. gotbbucs Says:

I like the player, but not in the 1st round. He’s a late bloomer like Diaby, but doesn’t have Diaby’s athleticism. I’d be interested in the 3rd round.

BEEF UP THE TRENCHES AND LILL QBs LETS GO

  15. Weebs10 Says:

    KILL*

  16. Defense Rules Says:

Walter Football ranks Darius Robinson as the #5 DT prospect. Looks like he’d provide excellent versatility on the DLine. Keep building the trenches.

    5. Missouri image Darius Robinson, DT, Missouri
    Height 6-5. Weight: 286.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.10.
    Projected Round (2024): 1-2.

2/17/24: Robinson was a really solid football player for the Tigers in 2023, recording 43 tackles, 8.5 sacks and a forced fumbles. With good height, length and weight, Robinson offers the flexiblity to play defensive end or tackle at the pro level. He could be a base end who moves inside to tackle in the sub package. Robinson had a superb week of practice at the Senior Bowl, showing some serious power to shed blocks. He is big, strong, and a good power rusher who also is tough against the run. However, team sources feel Robinson lacks some speed and juice off the edge.

  17. LUVMYBUCS Says:

I’ve got mad respect for DJ, but Darius Robinson is nowhere close to a Cameron Jordan clone

  18. LUVMYBUCS Says:

This is coming from the guy who wanted the BUCS to draft Cameron Jordan years ago.

  19. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Checkout the following: Rush Linebacker Prospects
    -Jacoby Windmon
    -Austin Booker

  20. Bucs Guy Says:

He seems to be the #5 or #6 DE/OLB. I would be happy with any of the top 6 if we can get them in the 1st or 2nd rd — especially if we can trade back and get an extra day 2 pick. Then we could get a G/C, RB and TE, followed by a S in the 4th.

All of the above is subject to change based on what the Bucs do in FA — re-signing our own and getting new players.

  21. NCBuc Says:

    @cometowin2
I feel JTS needs to be replaced before LH. LH started looking better this year at year two. IMHO JTS has not developed the way he should. Just my opinion

  22. Jack Clark Says:

    Hallelujah

  23. BillyBucco Says:

    Both those guys look good.
I like Windmons duck move around the edge but Booker better in run support. Seems like a tall guy too.

  24. BillyBucco Says:

Bucs Guy we DONT have a 4th round pick.

  25. QBKilla Says:

Bucs have a 4th round pick. They don’t have a 5th round pick.

  26. Tony Says:

    @cometowin2

Pretty sure it was Adrian Clayborn they took over them.

  27. Dave Pear Says:

    TRENCHES TRENCHES TRENCHES

  28. NCBuc Says:

    @Tony
You are correct. A certain Joe and I had it out when a certain Joe was suggesting we resign him to a team friendly deal

  29. Larrd Says:

He sounds like another Logan Hall. I do not think that is a bad thing at all in the second round.

  30. BuxfaninTX Says:

Lol… Licht passes on Cam Jordan, but signed Antonio Brown

  31. Nybucsfan Says:

As Joe has said, multiple times, he thinks that the defensive end is the second most important position on the field behind the quarterback. How many defense ends have we drafted successfully in the first round? Yet everyone’s willing to keep drafting this position in passing on the quarterback, which is absolutely the most important position on a football team.

  32. Why Not Says:

Agree on Robinson…and the Bucs should consider running back Cody Schrader in a later round. Dude will be overlooked, but he led the SEC in rushing. Try hard guy who loves football. Remind you of anyone?

  33. garro Says:

Robinson looks like he can play Joe. Speed and power and stays at home in the run game.

Pretty impressive in his highlight reel almost all SEC teams and he still showed out.

    Go Bucs

  34. Proudbucsfan Says:

Logan Hall as far as I’m concerned will never be as good as he should be because I hold him directly responsible for ending Jensen’s career, and on top of that he was a second round draft pick and has done nothing. Rant over, if we take any Robinson, it should be chop

  35. David Says:

I would be happy with that but if the center from Oregon is there, I think they have to do it. The interior of the O line might actually be more important.
Not much is more important than Ed rusher, but the play of the center and left guard was atrocious

It is easier to get a good lineman in the second or third round than it is an edge guy though, so maybe they can find something else later or go to free agency with that

I would be happy with either though, but first and foremost… Please sign Baker and Evans.
They play their cards right they can be a Super Bowl contender this year. If they lose Baker and Evans,m and draft rookie quarterback… It’s a step backwards for the next two years.

  36. JimBobBuc Says:

Edge is my #1 priority, unless Jackson Powers-Johnson falls to us – unlikely. Licht has failed in the evaluations with Hall and JTS. At #26, we need an edge who can play right away and was productive at a big time college program.

  37. Pewter Power Says:

You lost me at Cam Jordan

  38. cometowin2 Says:

    NCBuc,

I actually like the way JTS played after he was demoted from first string. I think could be a capable backup but neither Hall or JTS has been the player we hoped for. DE, LG and Center would be my first three picks in the draft if we.can sign our top 5 FAs.
