Why The Bucs Are Getting Little Respect

February 18th, 2024

Baker Hate cause of disrespect?

Usually, Joe thinks power rankings are a joke. Rarely will Joe reference power rankings on this here corner of the interwebs.

Joe is breaking that routine today because Joe is seeing the light in why so many “experts” think the Bucs are a middling team, not a three-time division winner that was a timeout and two plays away from an overtime shot at an NFC title game berth.

Most of these folks think the Bucs were a total fluke last year.

This came to light while reading post-Super Bowl rankings for Sharp Football Analysis. These guys and their rankings think the Bucs were an accident and will return to the dregs of the NFL where they belong without Tom Brady.

22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It looks like Baker Mayfield will be back, but the Bucs face several other important free agent decisions including Mike Evans, Antoine Winfield, Lavonte David, and Devin White. They do have some cap space available, but it is unlikely all of those players will return, and the Bucs do not have a ton of draft capital to replenish the roster. Despite an overachieving 2023, Tampa will likely enter the season with similar questions in 2024.

This annoyed Joe because many have the Packers, who also lost a close game in the NFC divisional round, ranked so high. (Sharp Footbal Analysis has the Packers at No. 10). Why not the Bucs? Besides, the Bucs curb-stomped the Packers in Lambeau Field last December.

Everybody and their brother is jumping on the Jordan Love bandwagon. And the same folks are dubious that Baker Mayfield can repeat what he did last season.

Reading the daily comments here from alleged Bucs fans who bellyache daily for a guy who has nine pass attempts in three years to play over the Pro Bowl MVP tells Joe that the Baker Hate, both nationally and locally, is very real.

We are used to the Bucs being dis’d all the time.

  2. BA’s Red Pen Says:

Copy and Paste. The Bucs never get any national respect.

  3. Ethan Says:

JBF: “Everybody and their brother is jumping on the Jordan Love bandwagon.”

Love is young, has played one season, and has a career record of .500. Lots of upside there.

Mayfield is not young, has a history of injuries, and has a career record of .465. He is what he is.

  4. Marine Buc Says:

    “Pro Bowl MVP”

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!

    That’s a good one Joe.

  5. Marine Buc Says:

Looking at our current roster #22 is being kind…

We currently don’t have a starting QB a mediocre head coach and @ 24 free agents/draft picks to sign with limited cap space.

Let’s re-evaluate after the draft and see how things look.

  6. Todd Says:

    I love this.

    Disrespect is our unfair advantage.

Fuel for the soul of every player with a chip and every fan with two prominant middle fingers.

    I just love it.

“Bucs are going to suck! Write them off! Panthers and Falcons are I’ll surely ascend. Bucs draft in the top 5 in 2025!”

    Or something.

  7. RiggedNFL Says:

Who cares. The Chiefs and T-Swift will be back in the Superbowl next year.

The NFL can’t afford to not to keep that narrative going.

Watered down football games are now dependent on betting to stay relevant.

You can see the script from a mile away.

The Yucs under Bowles will never fit into the script.

No need to get bent out of shape over basically nothing.

    The NFL is completely rigged

  8. BigMacAttack Says:

I love Baker. He’s one tough ess oh bee. He hits defenders and dishes out punishment like a fullback. He’s our QB and why won’t anyone consider him as a Franchise QB? He’s well on his way. He really just needs to work on avoiding the batted passes. Drew Brees was great at this. The Bucs had some problems but imo they were coaching problems. Todd Bowles is like Lovie Smith, he’s not real smart, and very slow to adjust or react. Bowles idea of halftime adjustments is the next game.

  9. BigMacAttack Says:

If you’ve learned anything about Jason Licht, it’s that he will have his free agents signed in time and get the job done. Just don’t ask him to make a second round pick because he’s blown 90% of them. They don’t want Devin White but the rest will all be back.

  10. BakerFan Says:

Joe tells it like it is on this one. Hopefully Mayfield signs elsewhere and these guys can stew in their own sh!t

  11. stpetebucfan Says:

It seems to me power rankings at this time of the year are pretty specious.

So IF the Bucs resign ALL of their FA’s..Baker…ME..LVD..Winfield…are they the same spot on the power rankings as if they lose ALL of them?

Clearly they won’t lose Winfield…but what if ME, Baker, and LVD are no longer on the team? What if they are ALL on the team?

What does the draft look like? How about if the Bucs add an important FA or 2?

NOBODY had any idea of how good or bad the Bucs will be next year. Let the draft and FA dust settle first.

  12. Tony marks Says:

    Ethan Says:
Mayfield is not young, has a history of injuries,

Mayfield was injured once and played thorugh it in Cleveland

Only person I have ever read say something so dumb is David

Dang son how many names do you post under here at JBF? I wouldn t be surprised if its ten or more.

  13. DBS Says:

This team will never get respect because they are who they are. Also where they are. And Ethan/robbie is praying Baker moves on. Still. He still thinks his boi has a chance.

  14. Gipper Says:

Baker doesn’t need the approval of a ship of fools in the national sports media or the hate brigade on this blog. He has an elite throwing arm, incredible competitiveness, and toughness. When healthy, he is a top 8 NFL QB even with teams with limited resources.

  15. Proudbucsfan Says:

I like Baker and hope he comes back he can be a great Quarterback for us for lots of years and he is only going to get better. Although if he does sign some where else the only good thing about that is we won’t hear from BakerFan anymore on this site or the rest of the ball gurgleres who worship the ground he walks on

  16. Ethan Says:

Tony marks Says: “Mayfield was injured once and played thorugh it in Cleveland”

LOL. Here is his list of injuries:

    Oct 5, 2013 Non-NFL Knee Strain Grade 1

    Nov 21, 2015 Non-NFL Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1

    Dec 31, 2015 Non-NFL Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1

    Oct 11, 2020 NFL Chest Rib Sprain/Pull

Sep 19, 2021 NFL Shoulder Labrum Tear

Oct 17, 2021 NFL Shoulder Labrum Tear

Nov 14, 2021 NFL Knee Strain Grade 1

Jan 3, 2022 NFL Shoulder Labrum Tear

Oct 9, 2022 NFL Pedal Ankle (high) Sprain Grade 3

2023 Season – Ankle, ribs, thumb … anything else?

  17. Jeff Says:

Bringing back a bunch of old declining players will put you in the bottom 1/3 of the league. Sign Baker, let Evans and Evans go and use the money to enhance the pass rush.

  18. Dewey Selmon Says:

As long as we’re in the NFCS we have a chance. Pro Bowl MVP had me rolling Joey

  19. Biggun Says:

J Love has 1 year of tape now he will be figured out this season.. Mayfield is Mayfield not surprises here, except who pays these idiots for their opinions? We keep our core together and let the offense open up more I’m feeling dangerous haha.

  20. Hodad Says:

The rest of the world Joe doesn’t see Baker through your rose colored glasses. My guess is 31 other G.M.’s would rather have Love then Baker. That’s O.K., keep the Baker fluff pieces coming. Eventually you’ll convince yourself at least he’s the best Q.B. not named Mahomes.

  21. WyomingJoe Says:

Why am I always amazed at how many haters, dimwits, numbskulls and idiots comment on this site? And why am I always amazed at how I fall into the trap of arguing with you losers? You guys make Eagles’ fans seem normal!

Ethan (David, lol): You certainly fit into one or all of these categories if you think that Baker is old and misses games because of injuries.

You’re probably one of the guys who wants to draft that that injury-free college QB Penix. Good luck with that. You don’t deserve Baker.

But as I’ve said before, NFL Owners and management don’t give two sh*ts about what their fans deserve or think.

  22. Daniel Hammond Says:

If we need to quit worrying about Baker and get Evans and Winfield signed and Lavonte David if he doesn’t retire and will still have a good team Evans has made every quarterback that plays for our team look good

  23. WyomingJoe Says:

    Hodad: A couple of things:

Thankfully, “the rest of the world” doesn’t see Baker Mayfield in your rose-colored Hater eyes. If the Bucs don’t sign him, 4 or 5 other teams will.

Jordan Love is 25. According to your logic, he’s ancient.

Baker ( the old man at 28) curb-stomped Love’s Packers in head-to-head competition. Remember?

I say, trade you and keep Baker.

I’m certain that Dr. Tony Marks could say all this much more eloquently than I.

  24. Daniel Hammond Says:

I forgot to mention Godwin because he’s already signed but another player that makes quarterbacks look good

  25. Cobraboy Says:

    No respect is the default.

    Respect is the outlier.

    It’s a Bucs life…

Yes David Nitiwit there is alsways more “else “studity with you

the shoulder labrum is the SAME INJURY dufus and he played through ait in 2021. IF you are counting concussions then just about every QB in the leagues has a “history of injury” negating your whole claim

It doesn’t matte how often you change your name David. its still the nitwit brain stlll positng under any of them you choose.

  27. Cobraboy Says:

With no respect come shoulder chips.

    I’m OK with that.

  28. Gipper Says:

    Wyoming Joe,

The losers on this site are here for a reason. It is one of the few places where they get some attention. Most of these guys never made any kind of sports team, had a date with an attractive woman, or accomplished much in their working careers. Bashing Mayfield makes them feel a little bigger. Don’t sweat it or fight it.

  29. Buckeyebuckchuck Says:

Yeah well every loss was to a playoff team or division rival. Didn’t really see any bad losses like the Iggles swan dive vs Giants.

  30. Tony marks Says:

    @WyomingJoe

I am loving how they spent the last few weeks roasting Baker for throwing a tight ball at his receiver and getting picked but now Love is so much better after Love passed to a field of two DEFENDERs as his primary recievers

    lol

    Love sucks.

  31. SlyPirate Says:

    WHAT’S NEW?
The Bucs are underrated every year. It’s what you earn after a decade of disappointment. It’s cool. We all know.

  32. Kidfloflo Says:

Baker is old and has a history of injures!?? This goes to show u the “fans” on this page, at this some of them are clueless and should root for another team. Guy is in his prime, 28 yes old and had one injury with the browns and sucked it up to play for his team, when if he sat and got surgery he’d probably still be a Brown! And in case yall forgot, was 2 games away from thr super bowl this year, and had career best stats, but facts shouldn’t enter a juicy take

  33. Esteban85 Says:

  36. Allbuccedup Says:

NFC south Canales Panthers are rated last, Falcons a couple of spots below us and the Saints 21st. It sounds about right.

  37. Dave Pear Says:

Slowzo is the reason for the mediocrity and deserves the disrespect.

  38. Marky Mark Says:

If Baker does indeed return to try he Bucs all this hate just plays into his hands because doubt about him is what fuels him. What is really at play here is people hate to be wrong. Baker proved every writer in the land wrong. But rather than admit they were wrong they are doubling down and saying he still sucks just wait till 2024 when plays back down to the 2022 level. What they forget is this year was just a little better than 2018-2020 when he was consistently good. .

  39. Buc1987 Says:

I see more Baker Love than Hate on these boards…

  40. Salary Cap Hell Says:

Don’t worry Joe, we will be okay…

  41. PewterStiffArm Says:

The Superbowl finished 65hours ago and these so called experts are already ranking teams? Are you kidding me! I truly believe that we will be better next year even though our schedule will be harder and with a new offensive package. With all of our key boys back and a few new additions, look out. I’m looking forward to our scheduled meeting in Kansas City. They thought that we weren’t going to be that competitive this year and look what happened. The first quarter lack there of offense caught up to us in the end. I think Liam Coen will figure it out, no doubt.

  42. Tye Says:

I see Baker as an asset…
Its Bowles who is the detriment and actual reason for low expectations…

Harbaugh gets hired as Chargers HC and suddenly their stock skyrockets..

  43. Hodad Says:

Don’t hate Baker. He’s a solid starting QB, but that’s it. Bucs can’t do any better right now. He’s a franchise QB. Meaning he’s played for 4 different franchises in 4 years. He’ll never be able to put a team on his back. Just the way it is. Bucs will finish next season at 8-9 with Baker at the helm. Would love to be proved wrong.

  44. Tony marks Says:

    Hodad Says:
He’ll never be able to put a team on his back. Just the way it is.

    —-

too dumb. He already has so your whole argumenti was debbunked before you wrote it.

Browns were around 1-32 and about to be 1 -33 at the half when he was called in as a rookie Qb and won the game which was 14 – 0 when he entered

He then went on to take tht same franchise and get them deep into the playoffs within two years later . if your next dumb point is to say hed hasn’t won a Super bowl yet – neither has most starting Qbs in the league so you have only dumb points.

  45. HC Grover Says:

Why worry. You will get more bang for your betting buck.

  46. Ethan Says:

    Tony marks Says: “SAME INJURY”

Reality: “Knee Strain … Head Cranial Concussion … Chest Rib Sprain/Pull … Shoulder Labrum Tear … Pedal Ankle (high) Sprain … Thumb”

I count 6 different injuries, most of which have repeated 2 or more times. That’s a far cry from your lie that “Mayfield was injured once.”

  47. Tony marks Says:

    Hodad Says:
Would love to be proved wrong.

    —-

who you trying to fool Hodad? The newbie readers? You were already proven wrong as part of the hater club that indicated we would have e a losing record with Baker in 2023.

  48. Since76 Says:

The reason the bucs aren’t getting any love is because everyone thinks Mayfield will return. Mayfield returning and taking cap space means we lose very good free agents. Which means the 3 games which a Winfield saved last season won’t be saved next year. Mayfield doesn’t elevate the play around him so the team will decline. I hope licht is very careful and doesn’t have that tunnel vision.

  49. Tucker Says:

Not surprised baker, Mike and Winfield are not signed why would bucs be ranked high with so many unknowns.

Like i said you are a nitwit. You can’t help yourself david. It s just you . Look at your own list dufus. Really think Baker had a shoulder labrum tear three times in the season? lol You don’t even know how to read a report.

Meanwhile in the NFL a “history of injuries” are are ailments THAT KEEP YOU FROM PLAYING nit to the wit..

    Every
    single
    Player in the leagues
has physical issues during the seaons becausee football is a contact sport.

So my point STANDS and you have been DEBUNKEd. Baker has ho “history of injurie”s anymore than any other player in the NFL

SO again – Baker has has ONE injury (that kept him fr0m playing). You as usual LOSE.

at this rate they might put a picture of you next to the word that I have used that so aptly describes you.

  51. Davyboy Says:

Pro Bowl MVP HAHAHAHAHA Marine Bucs? What is so funny there pray tell?? What disdained is it today for the Pro Bowl MVP?? Is it that he was chosen or that you just don’t like MVPs in general? What’s so funny? I like a good joke.

  52. Chris Says:

Ethan, you don’t seem to recognize the same injuries were being reported for several weeks. That is playing through injury, and almost all of it is from 2021 when he was hurt the second game of the year. All QBs go through injuries. All of them. Especially QBs that stay on 5h3 field and battle through 15 plus games per year. Herbert and Carr both had injuries that hindered their performance last year. Are they injury prone? Is Aaron Rogers? He missed 5he whole year with a torn Achilles. It’s a bad take.

  53. Hodad Says:

How have I been proven wrong? His last throw in a playoff came was a pick. You call that putting a team on your back? Did you watch what Mahomes did when the S.B. was on the line? Don’t hate Baker, he’s a solid starter, but you ga, ga for Baker boys just don’t seem to see his flaws.

  54. MadMax Says:

I dont have the time to read everyones take….but, Baker and Evans are back (not breaking the bank) kicker too….tag on Winfield (until we can grab more cap space to work a deal)….draft Cooper DeJean, Jackson Powers, Audric Estime (We’ll work on ILB next year because David is also back for one more go around, he’s too young and playing like he’s in his 20’s)…..and then we explain to Bowles how to work with all of this on the offensive side. Hainsey goes to LG.

Yeah I did. Mahomes threw a bad pick. Glasses went on th frtitz when you were watching that part of the super bowl?

Only difference is he had time to go in the game and Baker didn’t.

    What a silly point

Every Qb has thrown picks to end games in the playoffs including BRADY who has done ti MULTIPLE times.

IF you want to debat me you will have to up your game and have some fact not stupid stuff like this

    It’s a joke.

  59. Jack Clark Says:

They literally have the Bears ranked #14 😂 their credibility is revoked.

  60. JD Still Says:

The guy who is really getting disrespected in this conversation is Chase McLaughlin, if it were not for him we would have finished with a losing regular season record and wouldn’t even have gotten into the playoffs , McLoughlin finished tied for first in extra points, field goals , and longest field goal , that is elite! He scored 120 regular season points more than a third of all the points we scored , when We averaged 20.5 points a game and our opponents scored 19.1 points per game that was huge and nothing showed that more than the last game with Carolina the worst team in the NFL , when McLoughlin kicked three field goals and Mayfield got us nothing ! Zip! Zilch! Nada! But no one is even mentioning him and how much he should be compensated, that is just wrong!

  61. Buc1987 Says:

Gee whiz Joe it would have been nice to have more stories from you during all this rain.

That’s. 500 ball, that’s what Baker is. You’re comparing him to a 3 time SB champ shows how delusional you Baker nut huggers are.

  63. PNW Buc Says:

Trying to compare any QB to Patrick mahomes is completely asinine.

Baker might not be the guy some of you want, but, IMHO, he’s the only reason why we made it as far as we did last season. He, literally, put the team on his back certain weeks, trucking DBs, it was fun to watch.

He’ll be back, along with ME on 3 year deals. Jr. will be franchised if a long term deal can’t be reached. LVD will be back if he wants.

We’ll go after e FA or two and hit the draft filling best available and needs.

    Go Bucs…I love the off-season!

I didn’ compare him to anyone consistent NITWIT. YOU brought up Mahomes and you asked me If I noticed what Mahomes did and I answered by saying yes he threw a pick

Cause he did. Thereby illustrating why an int is not the sole inidcator for a qb bceause again – a fact you are stuck lik a boot to your argument’s rear – even the greatest QB of all time ended games with picks.

Now your silly come back is to tell me picks don’t lose a game unless they are at the end of a game.

You compare it to belly dancing while they see it as the ultimate show of respect for your rare talent. You have to be in your 20’s

  70. Davyboy Says:

He played 4 games on a broken shoulder. Maybe that’s why they gave him the MVP 🤜🏼🤛🏼😂

  71. DBS Says:

The end of that SB was a joke. Purdy was against a dead defense as was Mahomes. Especially watching Mahomes against a Bowles type drop back 20 yards cover nobody. Give me a break. 72. Ricki Says:

Because our coach sucks, and we shouldnt even have made the playoffs. Lets be real here.

  73. Capt.Tim Says:

    Why?
Because there is absolutely no accountability in Sports journalism. Absolutely none.
Look at all the Peter Kings of the Sports world. They know how to play the game. Every off season they play to the big markets and popular picks.
    Cowboys, Giants, Bears. Etc.
Every year they are wrong. Badly wrong.
Remember what king predicted for the Bucs. Plus all the other sports writers.
One of the bottom teams in the league.

Did anyone get fired? Demoted? Did ANYONE HAVE THE GUTS TO CALL THEM ON THERE ABSOLUTE PATHETIC RESEARCH AND WORK?

No. Because we have become comfortable with people doing hortibly incompetent work. Sports writers arent held to ANY STANDARD WHATSOEVER.
So they cater to to the big markets, piS* on the small markets. Do no actually work at all.
Why should they? They have nothing to lose. Not their job, their reputation. Nothing.
Peter king will still be posted here, and treated like he is an expert on something.
Hes not. Hes a Pr machine. Lazy PR machine that hasnt been right about anything in a long time.

Welcome to 2024 America, where we lift up the mediocre, and dont hold anyone accountable for doing lazy work..

Dont worry. It wont last long.

If you don,t see it happening it won,t happen. Baker took the Browns from 1-31 to 11-5 in 3 years. I see 11-6 with Baker Bucs. So why waste your time with this loser you don,t see it happening with. Which QB do you draft or get in free agency to be 14-3? I will get you started.. Hodad sees Mitch Trubisky as a 14-3 Qb.

  78. Jake been there since the beginning Says:

Wow the Respect work. In my opinion the Bucs never got more than an ounce of it. “F” all of those that dis us man, it’s ok to be the underdogs we’ve had our great moments and I stand proud to be with them through it all. Thanks for the memories Buccaneers!!! Now let’s go out and keep kicking @$$!!!

  79. Buddha Says:

These are the same people who picked FAU to roll over USF and give USF no respect in the college basketball rankings. How did that work out?

  80. BakerBucs Says:

Bakerfan says I ditto that comment

  81. BakerBucs Says:

Bucs are in a small pool of middle class fans they don’t have metropolitan area money like the chiefs I guess Brady helped for a minute but he is a convicted cheat see u later on that crappy fox station I wud never watch anyway

  82. BakerBucs Says:

Hay let’s say this if baker is a real .500 QB then I will take it cause he did a hell of a good job this year for u r so called .500 player now if the rest of his squad did their part then he wud be .900 QB no joke.lets just say this it was a real good beginning for the old guy it kills me when people say the old QB. @ 28 yrs old that is to funny!

  83. RGA Says:

Baker has 42-47 career win / loss record. That’s not the definition of a winner.
I understand there’s several here that think he’s a great franchise type QB, he is what he is and that’s a below average to average, middle of the pack QB. Success is defined by wins. I’m sure some believe he played for a lousy Browns team, interesting that after moving on from Mayfield the Browns go 11-6 in a tough division.

  84. 76 bucsfan46 Says:

This is why we love being Bucs fans, they can all GFY. We will overcome !!!!

  85. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

This site has now become JOEBAKERFANBOI.COM because he discards any post that is out right hostile towards Baker and all the fanboi/ male cheerleader/pep squad members. He targets individuals who go against his fandom but never the Bakettes even though THEY’RE the ones calling names the most. These fanbois have destroyed the quality of this site and the one Joe is responsible for it.

  86. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

The poster known as David isn’t seen anymore under that name probably because of the targeted censorship on this site because he is the most hateful of anything Baker and the fanbois

  87. IrishTony Says:

NFC is absolute crap and if the Bucs bring everyone back they have as good a chance to win the conference as anyone else. I predicted 9 wins last year this year I believe it will be in the 10-11 range.

  88. Marky Mark Says:

The current metro area population of Tampa in 2024 is 3,009,000, a 1.07% increase from 2023.

  89. a horse with no name Says:

    @DavidBigBucsFan99

True, I have noticed that Mayfield critics disappear but Mayfield lovers stay on. Tony Marks, for instance. He insults (or tries to) anyone who dislikes Mayfield but his comments infest this website. I suspect Mr. Marks is either Joe himself or Baker’s agent. 💯

  90. Davyboy Says:

Hey “bigbucks”, maybe it’s not fandom in reality? Maybe its just guys who can’t stomach when others constantly either take stats out of context or use them to purport a lie about someone, in this case Baker. I didn’t realize you owned this site? I’m pretty sure anyone can come and go as they please, thats the beauty of it. Regardless of how you feel. So you are the one that judges what’s a good site vs a bad site? I’ve been wondering who that person was and now I know. Now we all know who to come to when we have a complaint about the site….
I would venture to say the reason Baker critics disappear is they find out that those backing Baker are smarter than they thought and can see when someone is full of bull and they call them out on it. A person can only take so much public degradation/humiliation even if their true identity isn’t known. They know and that’s enough. Just like you, I bet you will quit showing up and spouting your nonsense, soon.

  91. Davyboy Says:

About Baker being a .500 qb. If you Baker haters really loved the game you would know this. Every team in the NFL has a past, a history, and that past is made up of decisions. And those decisions are made based on core values and beliefs. And over time, decades, a teams make up is forged. And it is 1 of 3 type of organizations. In general terms only, there are .750 clubs, .500 clubs or .250 clubs. The less than .500 clubs are you Cleveland Browns. Over the last 10 years their record averages 6-10. Until there is a major shake up they will always be a 6-10 team. Same way with the .750 clubs. They make the decisions, no matter how tough they are, to win.
Case in point, the Patriots. As long as Belichek was a 12-4 coach he could stay but when he had proven he was no longer that guy “the organization” based on their core values
and beliefs said you got to go coach. Those organizations that are .750 teams constantly have a general manager, a coach and a qb that all believe in the core. Tampa Bay is a less than .500 team. The 10 year average is 7-9. I know it hurts but if you go back 10-20
years that’s what it translates to. So don’t accuse Baker of being a .500 qb when he is only one piece of the puzzle. Especially in the short run. He has only been on less than .500 teams. It takes time to overcome that .500 mentality. And It takes a certain mentality to be that .750 club and some people are happy to be a .500 club. A .750 mentality is hard core. The human element doesn’t come into play too much. You either put up or you’re gone and some people find that too hard to do, but that is what it takes. So you mostly have .250 and .500 clubs and they pretty much stay the same teams year in and year out. They might have an above average run with a really good qb but they almost always settle back into their established groove. The elite teams like Green Bay, Pittsburgh and the Patriots will always be .750 clubs. It might take them a couple of years to get it right after a firing or a retirement, but they almost always do. The bright side is there is always the exception….

  92. Davyboy Says:

Brady had a 3 year average with the Bucs of 10-6. Baker had a 9-8 season. For a difference of 1 win for Brady. 1 game difference. I wonder if the Bakers haters were hating on Tommy?? Somehow, I seriously doubt it.
When the Bucs won the superbowl in 2021, Tom had a run game helping him that was 25th. When it dropped to 32nd in 2022 he went 8-9. The next year the run game was the same, 32nd ranking, but Baker had showed up and went 9-8. That’s 1 win better.
    1 win better- Brady
    1 win better Mayfield
Of course there are other factors that effect the outcome, probably a million but you can’t delve into all of them here.
Am I saying the unthinkable, Baker is better? Nope, I’m just saying things aren’t near as bad as the haters want everybody to think. In fact, with Baker as quarterback, the future could be looking pretty darn good for the Bucs, haters included.

  93. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Welcome to joebakerfanboi.com. where you’re not allowed to say anything derogatory about Maker Bayfield because the censorship up here is like 1945 Germany. The Baker ladies of the night are in full effect up here making it a cesspool of toxic femininity of the estrogenic mumblings of male cheerleaders who who have attached themselves to the hip socket of a middle of the road qb, losing you as many games as he wins.

  94. Oneilbuc Says:

David Bigbucsfan. Lol 😂😂 you ain’t lieing bro that is a great statement for the Baker Mayfield fan club not bucs fans but Baker fans club !!

  95. Oneilbuc Says:

I believe that people really don’t hate Baker Mayfield as a person that’s just the word people use when someone criticize Baker Mayfield for his play on the field. It ain’t that deep I believe the real bucs fans are tired of mediocrey we all know what’s going to pretty much happen with Baker Mayfield next season. It will be another average season and bunch of excuses for Baker Mayfield. I know they are bringing him back and it’s a strong possibility they’re going to over pay for him . So my expectations is very low for this team with a one read quarterback. I’ve even read where someone said he put the team on his back and he is the reason why we went to the playoffs even though Winfield Jr single handed won us the Panthers game that put us in the playoffs. It what is what it is we have to hope that the division is trash again just to make the playoffs because if it’s a ok division we ain’t making the playoffs.

  96. Davyboy Says:

At least its honest toxicity. You can write what you want just try and keep it halfway truthful, I know its impossible for both of you, but try anyway. Either that or you’re going to get hammered, its up to you. At least with Baker you’re only one game away from what the greatest qb of all time could do for you. You boys are “half glass empty” boys aren’t you?

  97. Davyboy Says:

And I’ll repeat myself since it hasn’t sunk in yet. With a 32nd ranked run game Baker wins one more game than Brady, so…

  98. Davyboy Says:

Do you boys really think you can have an elite program with the worst run game in the league?? It’s 1/3 of the puzzle and when it’s last place you should be ecstatic you went all the way to the divisional game. At some point reality has to sink in. If they could fix that part of the game, wow no telling what the possibilities could be.

  99. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Please, if they fixed that part of the game then Baker would throw more interceptions because Blowles would take the ball out of his hands more so he’d feel like he wasn’t the man and force more bad throws. There you go lil buddy make excuses for him like always.

  100. Davyboy Says:

Ol’ “BIGBUCS” is fixated on “lil”. Mmmm
And what part of Bakers psychological make up says he would do that?
What has he ever said or done that would lead you to really believe that?
I’ll answer that, nothing. You, for whatever reason(s) known only to yourself, want to make up the most asinine statements you can think of without any proof. It is becoming crystal clear what your psychological make up is and it sure isn’t very impressive to anyone with any intelligence “BIG buddy”. He played 4 weeks in the NFL on a broken shoulder lmao

  101. Davyboy Says:

Hey “Bigbuddy” you said Baker is a “middle of the road qb”. Were you saying that about Brady when he went 8-9 with basically the same team as Baker had the very next season and went 9-8? You can’t be an elite program with the worst run game in the NFL. I don’t care who your qb is, obviously. It is virtually impossible. You should know that. Classless comes to mind
