Odds For Bucs Winning Super Bowl

February 14th, 2024

Perpetually disrespected.

You would think a team that was one timeout and two plays from maybe reaching the NFC title game might have good odds of winning the Super Bowl for the following season.

Of course, this team is the Bucs, so no, it would be a wrongful thought.

No one expected the Bucs to win the NFC South, it seems. So when the Bucs had the Lions on the ropes in the playoffs, shock ran through all of the NFL’s self-inflated sophists who follow the league.

Unfortunately, Bucs players and the team overall must perform way overboard to get any kind of respect.

BetMGM came out with individual team odds for teams to win the next Super Bowl, a year from now in New Orleans. Michael Salfino of The Athletic has the, um, highlights.

The Bucs, who were “this close” to getting to the NFC title game, are +8000 to win the Super Bowl next year. The Packers, who like the Bucs advanced to the divisional round only to lose a close game to the 49ers, are +2500. The slimy Saints are at +3500.

Chicago — the Bears! — truly a trash organization, is +5000. The Jets, a flaming dumpster of a franchise with a crippled old man for a quarterback, are +3000. The Jags, who the Bucs obliterated last year, are also +3000 as are the Dixie Chicks, who don’t have a quarterback.

This is just another example of how folks view the Bucs — with disdain. Only in recent months have folks begun to come around and admit that Mike Evans is an elite receiver. Lavonte David never gets his due.

And the Bucs as a whole are snickered at, unless they have an international celebrity at quarterback.

I love the Bucs. Not one team mentioned here, including the Bucs have a snowball’s chance in hell to win the SB next season.

Who really knows if Mayfield can play at least good enough to lead the Bucs to a win a Super Bowl….
What is more believed is that Bowles IS NOT the HC that can do it…

Even his defense gives up yards with that method: Let them catch it and then run them down for a tackle….
I’ve seen people with that flimsy argument that the defense allow so few points…
Their opponent back off when they get a good lead and the Bucs lost half their games so most games the opponent was coasting… Not getting their opponents best all 60 minutes so it is an illusion that just makes the defense stats look good when it was their opponents backing off….
Good teams score at will against Bowles outdated Defense…

IF the Bucs had a better HC, they would have much better odds next year!

I’d be more interested in intel on who they might be looking at to fill the offensive staff. I really don’t give a sh!t about odds, predictions, and all the usual offseason nonsense wankery looking into next season before free agency and the draft. It’s actually completely worthless information except as a way to keep up the clicks.

Well, maybe we’re missing one of the beauty’s here to this low brow view of our beloved.

REMEMBER the last Super Bowl we won? NOBODY ans I mean darn near NOBODY gave us a snowballs chance in a VERY HOT place of pulling it off even though we were ABSOLUTELY ON FIRE and just simply UNSTOPPABLE as what turned out to be a VERY LARGE and OMINOUS SHADOW proceeded us as we walked into our Very Own BUCCANEER locker room to take on the false promise that was the kansas city chiefs. And that WAS WITH TOM BRADY LEADING THE CHARGE!

99% consider us as worthy of dismissing and maybe equal to the likes of a dog and pony show with a washed up coaching staff with a feeble qb. The geniuses didn’t even seem to realize that we also sported the BEST PAIR of “Pro Bowl” receivers in the NFL, “Pro Bowl” Vita Vea AND “All Pro” Indomica SUH, “All Pro JPP, “Pro Bowl” SHAQ Barrett, a pair of “Pro Bowl” CB’s, a pair of DEVASTATING Safeties, a pair of UNFORGIVINGLY, and DESPERATELY HUNGRY LB’s and did I mention a SIX TIME SUPER BOWL WINNIING, “First Ballot Hall of Famer” Mr. Thomas Bady!

I’m not going to mention how fun it was to watch patty maroon RUNNING FOR HIS LIFE from the beginning of the Curb Stomping to the very end! LOL!

Pretty much the ENTIRE NFL’s WORST NIGHTMARE!!!

And yet they absolutely had us with no shot at all to even compete in the game.

Now, if only we were able to “bet” on the game here in Florida at that time. THINK OF THE OPPORTUNITY WE HAVE NOW TO ABSOLUTELY BANK at what is it 8000+! Holy Smokes! Man, with the right amount you could get your nut for the Entire Year if done properly.

Then again, we are not that team as the Juggernaut that the 2020 team was but if we draft just right and we recruit FA’s just right, man, we could actually Win this thing!

If we keep continuity and resign Baker and Mike, have a STRONG AS DEATH draft, and add just the right free agents, I’M LAYING MY MONEY DOWN AND I’M GONNA PUT IT WHERE MY MOUTH IS!

Is it really an 8000 to 1 pay day if we win it all? I may have that wrong but is it? If it is 8000 to 1, and we win this year, a couple hundred dollar bet would sure make a nice bonus for me this year. I wonder what the odds of making the playoffs are? ( :

    NEVER say NEVER!

  7. Dave Pear Says:

When you’ve been a spectacular failure for most of the seasons of your existence, what would anyone expect otherwise?

Put on top of that Todd Bowles, who decided the second half defensive non adjustments against the Lions and then the timeout fiasco.

And then the QB who no one respects. And the uncertainty about the position in general.

    Right where we want it.

  8. Ninety9buc Says:

I get what you are saying Joe, but…….

I look at it as an opportunity to get RICH!!!!! Let those Dumb Mother F*****S
make the odds!!! I got a G to throw down on Boys from the Bay!!!

    LFG!!!

  9. garro Says:

Wise guys in Vegas are very happy you post all the pro gambler stuff Joe.

They can now afford a second house in the Bahamas. Yay!

    Go Bucs!

  10. MadMax Says:

    throwing a 20 at it….we’ll see lol

  11. NYbucsfan Says:

It is because we have a terrible head coach. He clearly is not respected.

  12. PewterStiffArm Says:

All I can picture is The Rock with his tilted head with one eyebrow down and one sticking up. The caption on the bottom of this picture. (What a bunch of dumb asses)! I guess we are just going to start from scratch, GO BUCS!

  13. Darin Says:

The coach does not try until the end to win games. Not to mention he doesn’t make good decisions either. Vegas isn’t stoopid

  14. Fansince76 Says:

What a farking joke! Buc’s don’t get any respect (Rodney D.).
That’s fine, I will put my money down on the Buc’s and who knows just maybe will collect on the good odds thanks to our friends in the desert.

  15. UGotRobbed Says:

Shocker…lol, who cares anymore what the “experts” think! Just a bunch of no nothings that swim upstream following the NFL school of non-researching media! Go Bucs!

  16. Allbuccedup Says:

During the season nfl network and espn hardly mention the Bucs. When they did mention the Bucs they were always saying how their opponent played so bad not how good the Bucs played.

  17. Todd Says:

    Spirit of full disclosure here…

I’ve never placed a single bet on any app with any company.

Loving in Florida, where is the best place to do this?

I’m done with the Bucs disrespect. I want to be $1k at these odds today.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Where should I place the bet? Please.

  18. Todd Says:

    “Living” in Florida…

  19. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

$50 will get you 4k. I’ll do that again. It’s a likely throw away, but hey; nothing ventured nothing gained. You gotta be in it to win it! And if they don’t get that hard earned cash, the wife most assuredly will😂

  20. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

Who would have thought that a bitcoin would be worth 50k today a few years ago? Stranger things have happened. Tulips anyone? Go Bucs!

  21. Todd Says:

Where is the best place to place bets if you live in Florida?

  22. Obvious Says:

You know what’s funny? I jumped up and down last season and Swore By Vegas and their ability to get it right. And for the most part, that hasn’t changed. BUT, BUT that SURE ISN’T the way it went now is it.?? VEGAS GOT IT VERY VERY WRONG! And here we go again DESPITE evidence otherwise….
Because of the overwhelming pungent hate or not so distant dismissal of the BUCCANEERS year in and year out “despite” what is happening in reality, the rest of the football world just has a habit of looking at us sideways. AND THAT’S WHERE SOMEONE CAN PROFIT!
Even “supposed” buccaneers fans can’t seem to get it through our heads that YES we ARE the REAL DEAL! And that’s ok. Because if everyone saw the truth for what it was then YOU’D NEVER WIN ANYTHING!

So maybe, here we go again. I’m not exactly sure why they refuse to give us the credit due.. worse than the jets??? REALLY? And so many more teams with the FACTS pointing in the other direction? It’s a phenomenon that HAS TO BE taken advantage of.

There are PLENTY of angles to do that with. For instance, it seems Vegas is willing to bet on that. Well, SO AM I. I’m unclear about the “payout” fair enough. But I’m NOT unclear about the odds.
And folks, one thing. One thing when gambling and it doesn’t matter on what. NEVER BET MORE THAN YOU CAN COMFORTABLY LOSE! Because IN REALITY, the odds are that YOU’RE GONNA LOSE your bet! That’s why it’s called a LONG SHOT! In reality you make your money on the side in that world and remain “hopeful” that the hard to find is FOUND. Like a respectable Edge Rusher…

Like I said, certain stars will HAVE TO line up to take a long shot bet. Even at a VERY ENTICING 8000 to 1. I mean let’s be real, the likelihood that we’re going to the Super Bowl is low… That’s the “reality” for ALL TEAMS! However, in my view, if it lines up the right way, WE COULD GO ALL THE WAY! And THAT’S what this bet is about. Like I said though, I wonder what the odds are against us getting back into the playoffs? Hmm..

    GO BUCS!

  23. Obvious Says:

    Hey Todd,
I’m not exactly sure because it’s new for us in Florida. Heck man, I can’t get a straight answer from anybody around here if the 8000+ actually means 8000 to 1. But I “think” that’s what it’s insinuating. I think it’s because nobody really knows. Otherwise you’d think another buccaneers brother or sister could help out with the answers. Unity has never been a strength of buccaneers fans and its another reason (as a buccaneer fan) why we are constantly disrespected.. No Unity! We don’t have each other’s backs against other transgressors. SAD!!! Would be nice for a change to get some brotherly love. That’s ok, I’ll get it figured out here in a bit.

But for your question, and I’ll look into it a in a bit, “fan duel” seems to be one of the platforms to check out. A lot of commercials from them lately.

  24. JimBobBuc Says:

Bulletin Board material for OneBucsPlace. Disrespectful towards the Bucs. Joe needs to share Vegas’ views with the team.

  25. BamaBuc Says:

+8000 or +80000, we really don’t have a chance next year. Bowles is still the coach. we lost our O coordinator and probably will lose at least Mike Evans. It’s not looking good tbh.

  26. Esteban85 Says:

I think this perennial underdog status is a perfect fit for a guy like Baker Mayfield. He is a guy who thrives as the underdog and loves when people doubt him. He finds pleasure in proving people wrong about him and it just helps build that much needed chip on his shoulder. I really think the team will embrace this disrespect and thrive on it as we did in 2023.

  27. D Cone Says:

There’s only a handful of Teams Sportsbooks have to worry about winning and only one bet that they have to pay out.

Odds are set to draw the most action. Might need to give 8 to 1 to get early bets on Tampa while Chicago does fine at 5 to 1. Most are losers anyway and they get to Sit On / Invest a Boat Load of peoples money for almost a full year.

No way for anyone to give an accurate line before free agency and the draft.

For all anyone knows Chicago could peddle Fields pick up Mayfield in Free Agency and their line could go from +5000 to +8000 in the blink of an eye.

  28. unbelievable Says:

I love how Joe is still surprised by this kind of stuff… So I’ll repeat what I’ve tried to tell ya’ll for over a decade at this point:

No one outside of Tampa Bay respects the Bucs. Never have, never will.

The only time this changed was for about 2 years with Brady. A blip in time for this franchise.

Why do you think guys like Lavonte David and Mike Evans are shafted on their recognition year in and year out, despite being top-5 at their respective positions? Even the championship defense of the late 90s / early 2000s was barely recognized.

Again – this organization never has probably never will get the repsect it should. Not from the NFL, not from officials, not from writers, and not from Vegas.

  29. Bucs552004 Says:

All I got to say is when the Bucs played Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. The had a way better team then the did this year a way better team then this year. Kelcy,Kareem Hunt, and Tyreek Hill. Really who do the Chiefs really have Kelcy, and Isiah Pacheco. Baker had higher passing rating than Tom Brady did when we won the Superbowl. So let’s get real had we made it we would of blown the Chiefs out of the water again.

  30. Oneilbuc Says:

It’s crazy look how when Joe brings up superbowl talk you don’t see no Baker Mayfield fans talking about winning superbowles. That’s why as a real bucs fan we need to ignore all these people that’s here because of Baker Mayfield. Their comments don’t matter because they only care about Baker playing well and not the bucs as a team. They don’t even have the faith that we can win a superbowl with Baker Mayfield but they get on here every day talking trash about anyone who call Baker Mayfield average even when you bring up the facts to prove it!!

  31. Davyboy Says:

Oh onei, you are so blind you can’t see how close Baker came to leading the Bucs to the superbowl this year, all while having to overcome a 32nd ranked run game. When was the last time a team went that deep into the playoffs with that level of run game?? You get just a respectable run game and you’ll be in your superbowl WITH Baker.

  32. Davyboy Says:

Give Baker a good run game and the Bucs will be in a superbowl.

  33. Davyboy Says:

At least “all these people” can see how close the Bucs came to a superbowl with a terrible run game while Baker was the qb.
