I couldn’t put my stamp on any of them. Each plays an extremely significant role.

    Good luck JL….

  2. Ugotrobbed Says:

    None of the above!

  3. Jimmyp Says:

I love Lavonte. I’m a lifelong west coast bucs fan who became a fan through the game, “nfl blitz” back in 98 or 99. I honestly feel Lavonte is slightly better than Derrick Brooks, and yes, I saw Brooks play! However, linebackers just don’t affect wins and losses as much as everyone on the list. I wish Lavonte could play forever but Antoine will carry the mantle moving forward on defense, baker and Mike are a packaged deal, and Mclaughlin can be our Justin Tucker of the future. You can’t progress without making tough decisions and Lavonte would sadly be my odd man out.

  4. Obvious Says:

Looking at results however, I’m surprised to find how many feel that we can do without the kicker who just might have scored more points than any of the others. I’ve got a feeling that some don’t know what they’re talking about.

And what makes this so hard is the fact that each are the best of the best in each individual category they Star in…!

  5. GP Says:

Would have been a lot easier if DW45 had been included, maybe even close to unanimous.
    I don’t envy Licht’s job.
I’d like to see all of them back in pewter and red next year

  6. DBS Says:

All the kicking problems we have had and people want to lose the kicker? And replace him with who that is that good we know of for sure?

  7. ModHairKen Says:

Mom, which child do you like the least?”

  8. Uhmm Says:

3 of the 5 wont be here after 3 years and are bridges to the next star.

    M1k3, LVD and Baker.

Kicker is a must and people voting least important arent thinking or are Fairweather. They probably havent been Bucs fans for long. Because all true Bucs fans know how hapless the kicking game has been

Mike is a boon to the next QB on the roster. Lavonte is a true professional and amazing leader in the defensive room. I think both are indispensable.

So in all reality. Baker is not the answer at QB for the Bucs long term unless he improves even more this year and the following years.

I think Baker is an important cog to resign all these guys but the least important player to the Bucs going forward…

    Winfield is a must

  9. A Bucs Fan Says:

Pick between 2 should be HOFers who are still producing, an all pro DPOY candidate, the offenses leading scorer, and the QB who led the team to a winning record and play off win the year after Brady left.

The answer is none of the above.

  10. NashvilleBuc Says:

I read the poll wrong and answered completely backwards. I bet I wasn’t the only one.

  11. Tye Says:

1st – Baker Mayfield (every winning team must have a proven QB)
2nd – Antoine Winfield (way to talented to let go)
3rd – Chase McLaughlin (The Bucs had FINALLY found a dependable kicker)
4th – Mike Evans (though he is aging he may have 1-2 more years in him)

So Lavonte David being 34 and the importance of defense being young, speedy, and have strong endurance is the one to replace now…

  12. Marine Buc Says:

With Baker at QB and Todd Bowles as head coach we need a very good kicker.

I picked LVD due to his age and position. It’s easier to find a new ILB than it is a new kicker…

BTW – I love LVD and he is still playing at a decent level but seriously – how many games do the Bucs win in 2023 without Chase drilling 50+ yarders on a regular basis?

  13. DBS Says:

LOL. Only 37 votes. You look more like a fool every post. Of course almost nobody wants our best safety gone.

  14. 954Joe Says:

If finding a Lavonte David replacement was so easy i’m not sure why we haven’t come close in 12 years

  15. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Wow…that is a deck stacked against Chase.

You people need to choose someone other that our highest scorer, lol.

Joe, you couldn’t put Devin White as an option??? Kickers do not grow on trees!

  16. RumDude Says:

No good answer, but LVD is contemplating retirement so we may lose him anyway is why I chose him.
You could have thrown us a bone and added Ryan Neal to the list and made our choice a lot easier.

  17. First Name Greatest Says:

Dang, the kicker who was automatic vs an aging LVD and a WR who wants $25-30 million and drops some critical passes…

Dumbest fan base in the league for sure

  18. BakerFan Says:

I realize the Bucs have their list of Free Agents, but would like to see an article by Joe of potential Free Agents from other teams that could end up on the Bucs. Would be interesting to see what others had to say, since some on here never cease to amaze me.

  20. Lol Says:

Patrick Mahomes put up Baker Mayfield statistics this year with no Wr’s.

Baker Mayfield will be go back to the trash heap without this talented group of receivers. If you cant resign Mike then no reason to resign Baker.

Patrick Mahomes put up Baker Mayfield statistics this year with no Wr’s.

That is incorrect, 8 0f the 9 receivers that Mahomes had in 2022 he had in 2023

  22. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Poll has less validity with only 402 votes……should have left it up for more than 1 hour….
But, I don’t disagree with the findings.

  23. Stanglassman Says:

I get the results but expected a FA kicker after watching the Superbowl would be ranked a hire priority. Especially one as consistent and reliable as McLoughlin

LOL. Antoine Winfield beats Baker Mayfield despite Joe’s twice-daily fluff pieces on Bakey.

Poor David. trying depserately to hide that he was hoping and praying Baker woul have been at the top of the list but wasn’t.

  25. DBS Says:

Like I said you look more a fool every post. You are a total embarrassment Mic—an—o–py.

  26. Buc Wild Says:

The 78 people who said Mike Evans should turn in their Bucs fan card

Bakerfan I said he has no Wr’s. To break it down for you I am saying that Mahomes has no good Wr’s to throw the ball to. Lol dude.

And like I said without Mike Evans Baker would go back TO THE TRASH HEAP WHERE THE BUCS SIGNED HIM FOR 4mil

I watch Chiefs every week, Reid’s offense always morphes from game to game. Mahomes had enough tools of Wide Receivers and has 3 Good Tight Ends. I bet you could not even name his receiving core without looking it up. Hurry Google is your friend.

  29. RBUC Says:

I hope the Bucs don’t see McLaughlin as expendable! One of the best kickers in the league

  30. Buc1987 Says:

    13 idiots voted for Winny.

  31. Aceofaerospace Says:

    Must sign them all.

  32. Kidfloflo Says:

Mclaughlin is NOT to be underestimated! Kid was a stud and a kicker who doesn’t miss and can make the 50+ yarders is not to be taken lightly!

  33. HC Grover Says:

    Stipid Stupid Stupid

  34. Jimmyp Says:

Gotta keep Winfield. Just look at the drop off when losing jordan whitehead, who is solid but below Winfield……..kinda wish we woulda kept Whitehead as he was solid in coverage and a bone crushing big hitter.

  35. garro Says:

    There you have it.

But who among these voters will be crying about the return of the kicker curse the loudest. LOL

    Go Bucs!

  36. MadMax Says:

We keeping Chase…i dont give a f, find a way….as many years as Ive seen us “chase” a great kicker and here he is!!!! Na man, he’s staying too
