Rob Gronkowski Has Good Vibes About The Bucs, Bad Vibes With Eagles

January 12th, 2024

Bucs talk with Kay Adams.

Foot-rubbing former Bucs tight end Rob Gronkowski has fond memories of the Eagles.

In 2021, Gronk caught what turned out to be his final touchdown pass in the playoffs against the Eagles as the Bucs stomped them in the wild card round at The Licht House.

Gronk not only has good memories of that day, he has good feelings about Monday night’s game between the Bucs and the Eagles in Tampa.

The Bucs have found a way to win five of their last six games, Gronk reminded Kay Adams this week. In some games they blew out the opponent. Other times the Bucs had to scratch and claw their way to a win. Either way, Gronk seemed impressed the Bucs showed they can win in different ways. And with the Eagles losing five of their last six, Gronk doesn’t see the Eagles bouncing back.

That’s what Gronk told Adams on her weekday show, “Up and Adams” on FanDuelTV.

“They are kind of hot right now,” Gronk said of the Bucs’ winning ways. “Yes, they are a little bit inconsistent. But it is a home game for them as well.

“Mike Evans and Baker Mayfield, I think they are going to turn it up a notch, a little bit. Same as well for Chris Godwin. He will come through and make some big plays for the team.”

On the other hand, Gronk doesn’t like the vibe he is getting from the Eagles, who are collapsing and it seems the entire Philadelphia region is crying as one for a housecleaning of the Eagles’ coaching staff.

“The Eagles … I don’t think they can pick up the slack,” Gronk said. “It’s kind of like engraved in them right now (Gronk said “engraved,” not “ingrained”).

“There is something going on. There is some kind of energy going around that organization that is holding them back.”

Joe wouldn’t call the Bucs “hot” right now. The offense sure isn’t. It looks about as bad the past two weeks as it did when the Eagles stomped them out in Week 3.

Yes, it’s great the Bucs found ways to win. But the offense has lost its energy and burst, and coaches still act they have Mike Alstott on the roster to run up the middle.

Like Gronk doesn’t think the Eagles can snap out of their funk, Joe honestly does not know how the Bucs offense snaps out of its funk unless Baker Mayfield can throw pain-free — and his coaches let him throw.

It’s really up to Bowles how far we can go. If we play to our strengths, which unfortunately for him is passing, we may be able to go on a run. If we play the way he wants, well, it’ll be a very long weekend. I have no idea what he’ll decide to do. I mean I think we all as fans know what the right answer is, but Bowles has repeatedly been so stubborn to actually do what’s best for the team, it’s maddening.

I’d be more open to Bowles coming back, if he actually allowed Canales to call stuff that works. Running up the middle repeatedly just doesn’t cut it. I just don’t see how we can go far if he holds the status quo.

Hope Gronk is right and he wan’t just trying to impress the lovely lady.
    LOL

    Go Bucs!

I sure hope Gronk is right too. It sounds like most of the Eagles are onboard to play on Monday, beat up or not. They are going to be aggressive along with their tush push. The Bucs need to get this done. They can do it.

Timid Todd is the one that will determine how this game unfolds. Unfortunately. If the Bucs win, it will, again, be in spite of him and his Coach of the Year abilities.

Has Gronk, watched the Bucs try to run lately?

If baker shows up Bucs win by 2 tuds.

  8. Cardiac kidz Says:

Sooner rather than later the Bucs by the law of averages has to play a complete game, all 3 phases. If litl Baker’s ribs don’t hold him back and he can throw down field, we have a chance.

  9. stpetebucfan Says:

The Bucs are as hot as Canalas/Bowles playbook and Baker Mayfield’s health will permit.

If the team that played Green Bay shows up the Bucs can win.

They took a fart downhill. What a quote from our boy Gronk!! Miss him in pewter and red!

Mayfield played well in three games. Houston…..Jax….and GB. If the other Mayfield that played in any other game this season shows up the bucs lose. The odds aren’t with the bucs but it could happen. The bucs offense will have to score. The defense can cover up a lot of ugly on offense against Panthers like teams but it’s the playoffs now. Your playing against good teams now.

I love Gronk. He’s a fun personality, but he’s not an expert. He feels like Terry Bradshaw’s replacement on Fox. A guy with a legendary career, a funny personality, but also a little dumb. That’s why he’s likeable. Not because he’s an NFL genius.

Gronk also said Belichick wasn’t leaving the Pat’s! Joe, thanks for the Adams pic, sure miss her on GMFB.

Wasn’t to long ago they said the same thing about a brady led bucs team and were supposed to wake up when the playoffs start and we got spanked in our own house.
