Nothing feels better than the Bucs delivering the Eagles an ass-kicking in the playoffs — at The Licht House.
What A Game!
The Bucs came out throwing and didn’t let up. The crazy thing was they weren’t throwing to their stud weapons.
It was Cade Otton, David Moore and Trey Palmer that were lighting up the field. Unbelievable!
As the game wore on, Chris Godwin and Mike Evans emerged and thhe Eagles had no answer. The rout was on.
Joe is so damn impressed. Baker Mayfield added to his eventual fat 2024 contract, going 22-for-36 for 337 yards and 3 touchdown passes. Stunning stuff.
Steady play from the Bucs’ starting cornerbacks was an encouraging sign, and Joe adored the Anthony Nelson safety and the Lavonte David tackle for loss that set it up.
The Bucs defense looked a lot like the 2020 playoffs edition. The run defense was totally smothering and the pressure on Eagles QB Jalen Hurts was relentless.
Major kudos to Todd Bowles for getting his team ready to play from the opening whistle and outcoaching the Eagles all night long.
A blowout playoff “W” for Tampa Bay. Wow. Bring on the Lions!
Joe’s starting to think there’s nothing this Bucs team can’t achieve in the NFC.

Congrats to the Baker Bois, you man came through on the biggest stage and he’ll certainly be back next year.

Great win, first really complete game this year. Coaches cost us some games, defense cost us some games, and the offense did as well but when it mattered most they got their game together.

There is no honor and glory to defeat a trash team that had lost 5 of his last 6 games with so many injuries. I predicted TB/BM will defeat a trash team that they are good at. Real test will be next week when trash journeyman will show his trash game again. I hate to anticipate but it will be blow out win by Lions.

By the way, was Baker listed as questionable with rib and ankle injury ? This game proved that I was correct that Baker injury was just an excuse in case they lose to the trash Eagles. Also half of the trash Baker passing yards came after the catch due to Eagles poor tackling. Baker is good at defeating trash teams.
TB/BM just extended their paycheck for another week before they get blown out by Lions.

I’ve been reading these posts all season watching most of these thread posters show just how knowledgeable they are about the game. Trashing Bowles, as if his struggles as a HC with the Jets was exemplary of his potential caliber as a HC. As if all that lack of success for a team that shoots themselves in the foot more than most teams in the leauge was solely on him and had nothing to do with the GM, the owner, the QB, etc. (same team that picked Hackenberg in the second round when I’m sure Bowles wanted an edge rusher to stack that blitz, but GM knew best). Then when he got promoted last year just shy of training camp starting last year and the staff couldn’t be changed, he was solely responsible for a struggling Bucs as Brady dealt with off-the-field issues and Byron tried to sabotage the team because he wasn’t the one that got selected to take BA’s place. Now this year, he has the most dead money in the league, a new offensive coaching staff, a new QB, and one of the youngest teams in the league and you guys act like they should’ve been 17-0. What we just watched this season, and now in the first round, is just shy of a miracle and the entire time you act like the guy is a bad coach. This team is catching fire and seizing momentum at the right time and everyone needs to settle down on the Bowles hate. I just want to remind you all, that this is the same coach that didn’t allow Mahomes and the Chiefs to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl….I repeat, the same coach that didn’t allow a single touchdown to one of the best offensive teams in league history in the biggest game of the year. Yet I watch so many comments that he can’t coach in big games. He will be around, and if all goes well, he will be around for another Bucs Super Bowl and a long run. Does he need to make adjustments from time to time, for sure but get off his ass. FIRE THEM CANNONS and give the man his credit.

No matter what next week holds, I think Bowles and his coaching staff can breathe easy that they won’t be let go, and Mayfieid earned himself a multiyear contract (in Tampa or another team…depending on the amount). Great team win tonight, and based on how the road team has historically done in the Lions-Bucs series I wouldn’t count the Bucs out next week.

While I pile through some Eagles salt here, way to go Buccs! I love how much fight there was in the Buccs. No one wanted to go down. The second effort yards after contact were consistent and HUGE tonight. Baker took some shots, and the Buccs need to invest in some Grip Boost. But wow- what a game. Defense with some really big stops and incredible man coverage. Baker slinging it. Some great runs.

This team is really messin’ with my head. Sometimes I wonder if they have been sandbagging with the offense. Maybe Dean and DavisIII are fully healthy. Dean looked good. Maybe Canales is learning the players. Maybe the low expectations for the season followed by a hot start and then #45’s BS combined with the Canales learning curve had a negative effect. Who knows? It does seem that Todd Bowles has coached his way to the playoffs. After the last two weeks I sure didn’t expect a game like this. I have been hot and cold on Bowles all year. He has earned his keep.
Of course I want us to go all the way to the SB, but I now believe we just might.

Reminds me of, I think it was the Panthers home game, where the idiot weatherman said it would be perfect conditions — and instead there was a huge downpour.
I wonder how many tickets weren’t sold tonight because of the nonsense talking about it being a washout.

The Giants beat them last week. Keep things in perspective. This was not the same team that kicked our butts earlier. The Lions are not decimated. Beat them in their den, and I’ll be impressed. January 19th 2003 will always be the epitome for me. The Fleagles were at full strength, no excuses, and the Bucs tore their heart out. I live in Fleagle territory. They still groan when Ronde Barber’s name is mentioned. They can accept this loss. They’ll never get over 2003.

Better than the Packer game! From watching his warm up throws I could see he was good to go. Couldn’t believe that Carnales began game with 3 straight and didn’t let up. Called a terrific game. That was the most effective blitzing I’ve ever seen. Bowles had the team ready even special teams was special. Glorious win!

Here was the defining moment for me. Bucs up 25-9. Somewhere between 5 and 6 minutes left. Bucs have the ball in their own end of the field. Usually would try run run run punt to use up clock. Not this time, empty backfield on first down. Completed pass. Maybe trajectory permanently changed. Go Bucs.

Baker is 2-1 in playoffs. Would have beaten the Chiefs if not for a missed helmet targeting call. Baker plays great on the road against NFC North teams. He also playz better when he sees a team again. The last TD was picking up the blitz. Something Hurts could not do..

Was a great statement win! Both sides ( minus some ugly drops by Evans and Otton who was otherwise great) played amazing.
While admittedly I wanted Trask at the beginning of the season because he was young and an unknown who could be our franchise QB, I am a fan and still rooted for Baker and team success.
Obelisk this season he has been up and down but usually clutch when it counts the most. Other than a few times yesterday when he had an easy checkdown but held it too long and took sacks on 3rd down knocking us out of field goal range I thought he looked great.
I know before have time that if he was healthy enough to have velocity on his throws and if his ankle wouldn’t hinder his mobility that we would win.
3 of our 5 last game we have played the kind of football that a real contender can play. I am hoping that Canales is hiring his stride in knowing what works and what doesn’t and more importantly how to rapidly adjust on the fly. This was a criticism early on this year where he didn’t change his gameplan early enough.
The defense with Kancey and Diaby looked fast and aggressive. Zyon laid the would and knocked 2 players out of the game. ( Call me a Zyonist but I think he will be a very good one). And we seemed to be playing more mean coverage which is nice because we are too soft on zone.
I am not sure why we weren’t doubling Smith more given he was clearly their only real weapon last night.
Lions game will be interesting. I think we have the offense to hang with them. Will be on the defense to contain Laporta and Amon Ra.
Baker has shown enough to tell me they should offer him a3 year deal worth 70-75 million and 30 million guaranteed. He might get more on the market but I think he would take it out of loyalty when we have him a chance and his culture fit here.

Great win, Bucs! Although I wasn’t able to watch it, I listened to some on SiriusXM. Sounded like a great team win.
