Wagering On Mike Evans

It’s that time on a Sunday when fans get very serious about their upcoming NFL wagers.

And today will be a day that Joe shares where Joe’s cash will be flowing.

There’s been a trend in Bucs history that shows when Mike Evans is within striking distance of 1,000 receiving yards in a season, his intensity elevates and the Tampa Bay playcaller is aware of the mark and tries to make it happen for Evans.

So in the spirit of history — and Evans’ greatness and the miserable Panthers — Joe will be wagering today on Evans breaking his over/under of 59 1/2 yards receiving. That’s today’s line at many sportsbooks. If Chris Godwin plays with his questionable neck, Joe thinks that helps Evans. But Joe also could make the case that Godwin not playing will send more balls Evans’ way.

Joe also might turn to the receiving over/under on Rachaad White (22 1/2 yards), but that’s doubtful.

Good luck!

Better than fair chance he can break a thousand today

  2. A Bucs Fan Says:

With a banged up CG why wouldn’t Carolina just double team Mike with Jaycee and Chinn over the top every play? Bucs have never played Horn before. It’s an unknown at this point. I don’t see how the Bucs do anything but play down to their opponent. Take a hyped Baker playing a forner team he’s more likely to make mistakes than good throws.

Something tells me it’s going to be an ugly game. If the Bucs win I will be surprised.

With six games to go, Evans has an opportunity to set career highs in every major category, which is certainly something that would help his contract negotiations.

A big game today (125 yards, 10 catches, and 2 TD) would put his on track.

    Career Highs/This Season
    Yards: 1,524/850
    TD: 14/9
    Rec: 96/54

Bucs minus the points may be good against the miserable Panters. Bucs should blow them out.

  6. A Bucs Fan Says:

@Sly do you think Mike will stick around for a rebuild? Cause next year could be worse than this year. Bucs won’t be competitive again until 25 or 26 minimum. Does Mike have that many years of quality football left? And would he be willing to waste a couple on bad teams in Tampa?

I’d love to have him stay in Tampa (like Larry Fitz did in AZ), but if he wants to contribute to another ring his best shot is to go somewhere else.

  7. Beeej Says:

All the most competitive teams are in sh!&hole cities? There are far worse places to live than the Tampa Bay area

  8. Oz Len Says:

I don’t think Baker Mayfield gives a crap about getting revenge on a former team. He asked to be released from them. He’ll probably do the same thing here if the team goes into losing for a quarterback mode and makes Trask the starter.

  9. Duane in Sanford Says:

If utilized correctly, Evans should outperform the Carolina offense by himself. This is a very good day for a get right game, and outstanding performance for ME13.

  10. ModHairKen Says:

Should have paid the man. Now pay the man. He’s earned it.

  11. NE Fan Says:

Let’s just hope he doesn’t drop the floating TD like he did last season.

  12. DoooshLaRue Says:

Can “Buc for Life” ME13 keep up the blistering pace of 58.8 ypg to reach his “coveted” 1k for the season?

I mean Cheetah hit 1k after what, 8 weeks and should break 2k this season.
    I think he’s averaging 120 ypg.
    That……. is an accomplishment.

  13. Debbie Says:

Hey NE Fan…go play with Beli what’s his name. Back off my team.

Hey Dooshlarue got anymore trash takes after Mike’s performance today?? lol! Don’t be a hater!
