Todd Bowles Says Devin White Told Him He Couldn’t Play Today

The pregame report from NFL Network said starting linebacker Devin White was not playing today and it was not injury related.
After today’s game, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said White told him prior to today’s game that he was unable to “go.” Bowles said White’s bad foot is sore and Bowles suggested further questions be directed at White.
It’s unclear at this time whether Captain White attended today’s must-win game. He did not accompany the team to Atlanta last Sunday.
It’s all very strange, considering JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman reported weeks ago that White likely has played his final game in a Bucs uniform.

PR has been calling Britt too slow and unathletic for 2 years. He has looked quite capable the last two games. Imagine, players on the bench proving themselves when given snaps. Nice game, Britt!

Devin just cost himself a job by not playing today. When you win 3 games in a row because one player doesn’t play why would you ever go back to said player. You wouldn’t. I wouldn’t even let him dress. Healthy scratch

3-0 without him. Safe to say we can move on. I’m pretty impressed with the team that we can go all the way back to Barret Ruud drafting serviceable quality MLB’s. We’ve drafted well at that position, and even though White was a high 1st rounder we won a S.B.!!! Moving on doesn’t sting as bad.

I dont know what happen with Devin, either behind the scenes, rather financial, ethical, or some violation trust matter. But this just looks and feels so, you know, you Kwon Alexander before… Great young, downhill after injuries, running back of the defense. Business as usual in the NFL. Useless you some GOAT of defense, (Ray Lewis, or like our #54 David, Brian Urlacher type leadership and solid consistent high level play) you aint getting a bigger contract. Unprofessional behavior, but you know, we pay nut jobs millions to make millions.

I’m really disappointed in White. One of his horses kicked him in the head. LVD, one of the best LBs evah, and future HOfamer, mentored/player coached this clown. White is one of the team captains? Spare me! Bowles will have no trouble clearing the deadwood off the D when the season ends.
