The Presnap Penalites Leader

December 2nd, 2023

Here comes mighty 1-10 Carolina to face the Bucs at The Licht House tomorrow.

It’s a U-Haul game for Todd Bowles.

Lose and Bowles should be buying his practice squad players and assistant coaches U-Haul gift cards for the holidays. Moving is pricey these days.

The Panthers are a dreadful bunch that just watched its head coach and some assistants get fired. Panthers QB coach and former Bucs quarterback Josh McCown was among them. Imagine that.

How bad are the Panthers? Joe doesn’t have time to count the ways, but Joe will share that Carolina leads the NFL in presnap penalties per game.

Carolina averages 3.1 presnap penalties per game. For those unaware, those are the stupid flags like false starts, lined up the neutral zone, etc., the kind that has killed Tampa Bay drives all season.

The Bucs are tied for eighth-most per game in the NFL when it comes to presnap penalties. That stat is most disturbing because that’s where the Bucs ranked last season with Tom Brady and Todd Bowles, eighth-worst in the league in presnap penalties. It’s inexcusable not to improve in that category when Bucs coaches preach it daily.

Inexcusable also would apply to losing the wretched Panthers tomorrow — at home.

Battle of the Bums…Bucs will clobber these horrible excuses for an NFL team…This will be a total blowout from the start. Bucs by 30 points at least.

  2. Alexandre Nascimento Says:

Hey, Joe. With all that, even turning the table, wouldn’t you have to consider a HC change? C’mon, as you say, if you don’t see a possibility to make to the Super Bowl, what’s the point in keeping status quo?

  3. A Bucs Fan Says:

If Bucs lose Sunday; Bowles is gone Monday.

  4. Fred McNeil Says:

Todd will need a moving service of his own
This is a trap game if ever I’ve seen one.

  5. HC Grover Says:

Bucs 41 Panter 3. Mayfield will look like a Marino-Brady combo. He may set an NFL passing record. White will run for 200. That team is in tatters. We finally get to see the Bucs slaughter somebody.

  6. Cdog76 Says:

The Bucs will struggle tomorrow with backup linebackers on defense. They will be lucky to escape with a W.

  7. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Since 2009 this team has been a reflection of the owners…..
……except for 3 years where they were a reflection of Brady

  8. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    Who the Bucs are:
    1) Woke
    2) Sloppy
    3) Sometimes cheesy
    4) Poorly organized
    5) Undisciplined

I would not be sad if they moved the franchise

  9. Voice of Truth Says:

Something tells me the Panthers are going to look a whole lot better than normal tomorrow….on both sides of the ball

  10. stpetebucfan Says:

These are the penalities that literally make me want to hurl something at the TV.

Of all the stupid coaching tricks…remember Letterman’s stupid pet tricks?…simply GIVING the opposition and frequently POINTS.

Would the momentum in the Indy game have been different if our OL doesn’t jump offsides and back us up taking in effect 4 points off the board.

A freaking FG is only worth 3 points that one bonehead play was worth 4 points to the Colts.

And I think it was JTS our blog whipping boy who lined up offsides in a recent game. How the hell do you lineup offsides…BEFORE the ball is even snapped.]
Do JTS and other lineman NOT see the freaking line of scrimmage..either the ball or stick on the sideline or both. Does gaining a 36″ advantage really mean that much? I get jumping offsides trying to guess the count…it’s a mistake for sure but not as damn dumb as lining up offsides…which BTW is not only yardage for savvy QB’s it’s an effing free play!!!

I feel you Vlad, but this is our Tampa team and would never want them to leave. Our baby and love the Bucs good bad or otherwise. Just get your shiat together Bucs!

  13. Bucs Guy Says:

When Bowles is gone, who replaces him? Better have a plan before you get rid of him.

  14. captivajim Says:

win or loose; bowles survives till january

  15. SufferingSince76 Says:

I’ll believe Bowles is fired when I read Joe’s headline. Until then, I don’t think he’s going anywhere.

Moving cost for millionaires is pennies.

  17. FortMyersDave Says:

Bucs guy. The Glazers have probably already contscted agents of potential candidates as have other teams thst should launch their coach like the Saints, Chicago, Chargers as well as Carolina and Vegas.

  18. Idroolpewter&red Says:

Why the hell don’t they financially penalize their players who get these stupid pre-snap penalties? I’ll bet they’d stop committing them real fast.

  19. garro Says:

    LOL
Joe without all the refs Phantom calls on our O line we would not be nearly so high on that penalty ranking!

I don’t even know what holding or illegal procedure is anymore, and I don’t think the refs do either! Stinnie got called for a procedure Sunday…I sure did not see a thing wrong with that play. The refs are out of control and making the game look like bush league stuff.

    Go Bucs!

  20. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Some think we’re going to stomp them tomorrow forget they beat the Texicans and kept them to 15 points who put 39 against us. It’s going to be a tough game to watch hopefully they play like they did against Tennessee

  21. Franco Says:

any team that lets Christian Mcaffery walk deserves to lose.
