Falcons Significantly Weakened In The Trenches

December 9th, 2023

When the Bucs played the Colts in a key road game last month, Joe thought Vita Vea would capitalize on Indianapolis starting their backup center.

It didn’t happen.

Tomorrow, the Bucs get a physical Atlanta team down two beasts in the trenches: starting right tackle Kaleb McGary and manbeast defensive tackle David Onyemata.

Possibly a great thing for the Bucs is that this is a new development for the Falcons. Both guys played last Sunday in Atlanta’s ugly win against the Jets.

Journeyman Storm Norton (great name) will start at right tackle. He hasn’t started a game since 2021 with the Chargers. Onyemata was a big offseason signing in free agency — three years, $35 million. He’s having a good season and is not replaceable.

The Bucs have the talent to take advantage of Falcons backups at those positions, but will they? Once upon a time, Bucs sacks king Shaq Barrett would have eaten a fill-in right tackle for lunch.

Joe already has written about the Falcons’ medical question marks in their secondary.

It’s said that the NFL is a game of matchups. The Bucs certainly have several potential winning ones tomorrow.

Don’t give the Kyle Cult angina Joe. If the Bus win tomorrow probably should put the ERs and psych units on alert for incoming patients and cordon off the bridges in central Florida to stop them from jumping from them.

Their being down a DT is all the excuse someone might need to press on with more of our futile runs up the gut. If we start the game with a Byron special I might need a new remote control. This one’s been thrown so many times I’m surprised it still works.

Thats a great new product niche idea – Boomerang remotes For NFL fans of lousy teams. Sell it with protective head gear for increased profits.

Are we so expecting the Bucs to struggle to get another win that we are relying on their opponent to lose players to injury to get the leverage…..

  5. HC Grover Says:

It will be a ‘close’ game in to the 4th qtr…The team that blunders less will win.

  6. ATLBuc Says:

Bowles has his gameplan and doesn’t worry about trivial things such as matchups

I like your “product” idea. You could sell it on the internet.

I’ll take any little advantage possible. People dismiss the Falcons too quickly. They “had” solid D…perhaps the injury changes that. Ridder is basically a rookie who is beginning to find his way. Are we sure that the Bucs D is up to stopping him? Having their best OT out provides a little hope.

Perhaps the Bucs can FINALLY get to the QB and stop hanging the DB’s out to dry, expected to cover for five seconds or more!

Prediction, Bucs win tomorrow against Falcons.

Now that Evans has his 1000 there focus is going to be 1000 for white 🤷🏽‍♂️

  11. JD12 Says:

Let’s focus on this W tomorrow and worry about this mess after the game !! We are in the thick of this playoff push with a gauntlet in front of us. We know what we got with this roster and we know what we got with this coaching staff. Lets just hope that the front office knows what they have to do if things go wrong from now until January 6th.

  12. Saskbucs Says:

Unfortunately I think ATLBuc nailed it. Bowles game plan was posted on the board Tuesday. Duuhhhh players worked hard but didn’t execute my vision of 5 yard carries.

  14. Pewter power Says:

Bowles game plans are weak and this will be the game they try to run outside the tackles

  15. Jeff Says:

Yucs probably have a 2% chance of winning. Same chance they had against Dallas in the playoffs last year. Clueless Todd won’t be able to take advantage. Shiano Stubborn. Lovie Stupid.

Prediction, Bucs win tomorrow against Falcons.

    —-

Agreed!! Bake will ball out for 320+ yards

Our defense will ball out giving up 500 yards. Then Bake will do a two minute drive culminating in a 15 yard bullet to Cotton in the end zone. Cotton with his Dinosaur arms will reach to try and catch it deflecting to Palmer’s helmet up in the air. Baker who was already running down the field in premature celebration mode will catch it but will be knocked out of bounds at the half inch mark

At which point Godwin’s wife will throw a perfect 60 yard spiral Budweiser at Bowles head causing him to inadvertently throw the challenge marker

Bucs win 31 -27. Mariah Gets the game ball and a case of Red Stripe

and Kyle spends the rest of his life in the CFL obsessed with repeating the play

  17. Tony Marks Says:

and for those challenged imaginatively – Cotton is Cade.

  18. DungyDance Says:

Tony – One point in your prediction needs revising. You forgot that Bowles’s red challenge flag has an emergency retractor cord that makes it go back into his pocket. That way he can be assured of having all 3 timeouts left at the end of the game.
