Devin White Is “Full-Go”

More Devin White fuzziness.
Head coach Todd Bowles played volleyball with local Buccaneers media today. Bowles hit a bunch of balls over the net but didn’t hit a big spike to end the subject.
That subject was Devin White, who has missed the past three Bucs games with a bad foot (all wins) and is the subject of rumors he passed on playing in Sunday’s game because the Bucs were going to start fellow inside linebacker K.J. Britt in his place.
White was back practicing today at One Buc Palace, as he was on Thursday and Friday.
Todd Bowles said White is full-go, but Bowles wouldn’t call him a starter.
Feel free to decipher this Bowles take when asked about possible rotating White with Britt.
“Well, K.J. had played great. So we’re going to play him and rotate him anyway with him playing, but we have enough things where he can play. And we want to see [White] at full health and then we’ll kind of go from there,” Bowles said.
Umm, got it, Coach.
As for the talking to Devin White about being a part-time player, Bowles didn’t really explain how White feels about it.
“We talked about how he would play and how his foot would come back and we’d go from there … He was ok with seeing how his foot was and playing him,” Bowles said.
Of course, all Bowles had to say was something like, ‘White will start and Britt will play depending on how White is feeling and playing.’ But Bowles opted not to keep things simple.
As for White’s role on the team, Bowles was clear there. “We need him.”

We’ll see. All of this will amount to nothing if he gets a new contract in the off season. A lot of people will have to eat crow.
I personally believe he’ll be too expensive…because of his demands.

Honestly it’s like the RB position. Play the hot hand. If that’s Britt play him if 45 comes out and plays on fire then play him. Who cares about 45 dude is prob gone after this season anyway. I say who care cause Britt is playing better. At the end of the day play your best player even if they were drafted high and don’t start cough cough JTS. Great to see what we have in the younger guys over 9 and 45 even 23 so we can see are they starters for next year and who is a priority to draft

Many players are divas and are super-touchy about what’s being said about them. Devin White is, apparently, one of these players. I’m guessing Bowles is just trying to turn the temperature down on the “White sucks, Britt is playing great” dialogue — even if it’s true. I’ve been a Bucs fan for decades before White or Britt came along and will be one for a long time (God willing) after they are gone from the team. I don’t care about their feelings or about what Bowles says. I want the best team on the field and right now, that includes both of these LBs.

I’m so sick of what seems like consistent dishonesty from Bowles. It makes me want to see them lose out (sorry inner child) just so we can be shed of falsehoods being standard operating procedure somehow.

So Devin figured out quitting on the team is a bad look, taking plays off is a bad look, he will sort of show up vs Jax and the Aints then try to ball out vs Carolina. Chalk it up

I can´t stand what DW is doing since the beginning of the year, and got worst on the last weeks.
But there is a positive sign of this.
White needs to play his a** off in order to get a good contract next season, hw can do it on the next 3 games….And after that,….ADIOS

My fiance was reading jersey #’s and names of BUCS players asking if I would be interested for Christmas. — She read through about 5 or 6 names, past & present players, and I said “Yes”, “Great”, or “Sure”.
She got to “How about #45, White?”
And that was the first “No, please.”

I think we all know White hasn’t proven he is worth a big contract. As others have said, if the “motivation” that he is easily replaced doesn’t get him to work his ass off and be amazing the last 3 games and if possible the playoffs, then he has little to no leverage for contract talks. The best given his current stats is a reasonable 1 year prove it or a mediocre 3-4 year contract or go elsewhere.

Todd best be using him to blitz and that’s all. This could derail the Bucs win streak all by itself. And here I thought Todd had grown a spine. Nope.
The cancer returns to the defense and will mean we won’t be able to stop Etienne or Beathard.
At least Todd will re-apply the cuffs to Canales and Baker so it’s run for 2, run for two, telegraphed screen for loss, punt.

Bring him in when you want to blitz. Line him up as OLB and have him rush the QB. Get creative with him. Let Britt get the bulk of the snaps at MLB.
