Streak Broken But Rachaad White Shines (Receiving)

Real threat — in pass game.
Rachaad White’s streak came to an end today. But you can bet he won’t be crying in his pillow.
White entered today’s win over the Titans with an NFL-best streak of catching his last 20 targets. That came to a halt when White caught two of his three targets today.
But one of those catches was really something.
Late in the second quarter with Tennessee leading 3-0 and the game creeping into unwatchable territory, with a couple of boring offenses unable to land a punch, the Bucs’ running back and misplaced slot receiver took care of that and woke up the crowd.
With the ball on the Titans-43 after a 16-yard pitch-and-catch between Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans, White put the Bucs up for good.
White caught a short screen pass to the left from Mayfield and blew past all Tennessee defenders for a 7-3 Bucs lead. The Bucs would never trail again.
Joe talked to White after the game about how he is becoming one of the top pass-catching backs in the NFL. Joe had asked him if defenses try to take out both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, is he the beneficiary.
White told Joe he goes into every game thinking and knowing someone has to pick up the slack if Evans and Godwin are taken out.
Hey, whatever or however a guy finds motivation, knock yourself out. Meanwhile, White is developing into a real weapon in the passing game.
White isn’t Evans or Godwin, but he is catching the ball out of the backfield in way that warrants the focus of defenses, and that possibly could allow Evans or Godwin to break free more often.

Rachaad White gained more rushing yards today than the great running back King Derrick Henry and all the other Titans running backs combined 😂. We do not need a new running back, we just need better run blocking! Go Bucs!

Did you see that bum Derrick Henry getting 2.2 yards per carry today? What a POS! I can’t believe they don’t cut him. I don’t care about his blocking or predictable playcalling, or who is playing QB, that is unacceptable! Any starting runningback in the NFL does better than that!

White would love if the Bucs called him a slot receiver, they make dramatically more money than RBs.

Agree and disagree JOE. While yes white is no CG14 or ME13 he does get more yards after the caught. CG14 in past years has bin the YAC guy but not so much this year. RW1 deff is the guy this year and ME13 has not really gotten many YAC yards but deff is the best at his position in going and getting the ball and people also underestimate his speed. Just cause he’s 6’5 and is now 30 people think he’s slow he’s lost a step or he isn’t elite anymore. They are delusional. His route running is also getting better with age.

I wish I could have listened to this one. That ball is getting spread around more and more to a bunch of receivers again. Something is going on with Canales. A lightbulb turning on in his O game calling?

White looks like he is getting much better but the rest of the RBs are terrible. How about shaking things up and put Vaughn on the practice squad and bring up Patrick Laird when you watch film on him he could be like McCafferty-any thing to give spark and some rest to White.
