Next Bucs Game Flexed To A 4:25 P.M. Start

October 2nd, 2023

An orange scheduling change.

It seems FOX is all fired up to get the Buccaneers-Lions game in front of a larger network audience.

This evening the Bucs announced that their next game, home against the Lions on Sunday, Oct. 15, will be moved from a 1 o’clock kickoff to a 4:25 p.m. start.

Joe loves a good evening game, especially when it’s still broiling hot in mid-October.

The Lions (3-1) are a ferocious bunch and a darling of the TV networks this season. That’s why they were picked to play on Opening Night against Chiefs, a game they won at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Bucs-Lions game is the long-awaited Creamsicle game, where the Bucs will wear their old orange threads and hope they play more like the playoff teams of the late 1970s and 1980s than former head coach Sam Wyche’s mess of the 1990s.

Great, I love watching RedZone at 1pm. Got spoiled in the Brady era getting to watch it nearly every weekend because the Bucs were at 4p or in prime time.

I told the AI to take this article and make it bulletin board material for Greg Schiano if he was still the coach – and he’s gonna use to motivate the team!

EVERYONE, gather around. I just read this piece from FOX, and they’re all fired up about our game against the Lions. Oh, they think it’s gonna be a show, moving our game to a 4:25 PM slot. They’re calling the Lions a “ferocious bunch,” the darling of the TV networks because they won a game against the Chiefs. Well, SO WHAT?

Now, they’re making a big hoopla about this being the Creamsicle game. They want to see us in our old orange threads, hoping we’ll crumble like we’re the Ray Perkins Buccaneers! But we are NOT the failures of the past. We are the legacy of those playoff teams of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s!

They expect the Lions to come into OUR house and parade around? They’ve got another thing coming! We’re gonna show FOX, we’re gonna show the Lions, we’re gonna show the whole nation what it means to be a Buccaneer! We are NOT their stepping stone to glory! We’re not gonna be a footnote in their fairytale!

We’ll fight tooth and nail! We’ll defend our ground, and send them back to Detroit with their tails between their legs! We’re the storm that’s gonna show the world what we’re made of! This is OUR house, OUR game, OUR time to shine! Now let’s gear up, and show them the might of the Buccaneers! On three! 1…2…3… BUCCANEERS!!!

    dang rod what is that…………………………………..?

  5. David Says:

Let’ s hope Bucs don’t get blown out as they did on last Monday night against Eagles. If they do then Toilet Bowls and Garbage Baker preferably needs to be dismissed. Go Bucs.

  6. Tye Says:

Was looking forward to this game…
Slightly less now knowing they will look like push pops…
Hopefully looking like a bush league team won’t cause them to play like one!

  7. adam from ny Says:

the flex is not only because of detroit…

but also because of the 3-1 bucco bruce bucs…

the league is waking up to whats brewing in tampa…

pass me some of that orange aid please…or do you prefer tang…

coolers fuller of orange tang, sunny delight, and orange fanta on the sidelines for the game…

if we win the game, we could be morphing into a dangerous team…
    (no baker pun intended)

Schiano is a bad motivator, thinks this is something to get fired up about.

He’s in the picture, and reading the article, I thought, I wonder if I told the AI that Schiano wanted to make this bulletin board material. And sure enough, AI never lets you down, never says that’s a really stupid idea, it just does what it’s told.

Well, until it sees too many stupid requests like this and decides to do the thinking, then we’re all dead.

But we probably have another 2 or 3 years before we get to that point, so enjoy it.

  13. Patrick Says:

The Ray Perkins/Leeman Bennett era was more of a mess than the Wyche era

  14. Mike C Says:

    No Rod…… just no

  15. Zoocomics Says:

@Rod… for real? Did AI really spit out that bulletin just using this article?

  16. SufferingSince76 Says:

Good old David. Our latest Debbie Downer.

  17. orlbucfan Says:

Okay, I guess I’m sorta an unofficial Bucs historian. The Bucs were the youngest franchise to make the playoffs in 1979. After that, the Dark Ages returned with a vengeance. They had one more ‘playoff’ team but it was around 1981, a strike shortened season, and they were a joke. I’m serious. Any other Bucs old-timers correct me here if necessary. I am totally PSYCHED over creamsicle day. The original Bucs colors and logo were/are central Florida. I’ll have mine on. Thank god, this one starts no later than 4:25 cos I will be able to follow the whole game. Go Mighty Bucs!! Declaw the kittehs!

  18. BUCman Says:

What a humiliation that the whole country will watch us play in the worst uniforms in the history of the game. Those creamsicle uniforms may appeal to a limited number of Buc fans but around the rest of the country we are laughed at and have no respect. Please never again!!!! This game will be hard to watch in those things.

  19. Gary Says:

Couldn’t be more thrilled for the creamcycle!.. I can’t imagine any true bucs fan not being hyped for the old school jerseys!

  20. Henry Says:

Orlbucfan, I am an oldtimer as well. I was at the Bucs first home victory against the St louis cardinals in Tamps Stadium. Sat in the endzone holding a sign that said “Red Birds are Dead Birds.” Man how time flies.

And to you Bucman, everyone is entitled to their opinion and the right to voice it. Its arseholes like you that are so full of themselves they think they speak for the majority. Well little boy, you don’t.

  21. Jmarkbuc Says:

    BUCman

    Dude get over yourself.

  22. Rod Munch Says:

    BRYAN KOHN – God bless.

Zoocomics – Yeah, AI will do any stupid thing you want, right up until it slits your throat.

  23. Danny Husak Says:

Stay confident. Baker plays very well against Detroit. His first preseason work that amounted to a win was against Detroit. He likes seeing those Silver & Blue guys. Danny Baker Buc Esq.

  24. garro Says:

Folks here haven’t seen the Steelers old throwbacks….Obviously!

    Go Bucs!
