Tristan Wirfs Has Words For Those Who Think The Bucs Are Low-Key Tanking

Choice words for skeptics.
Bucs stud offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs didn’t name names. But he could have very easily.
For all of those stenographers who tap on keyboards for a living covering the NFL outside the Tampa Bay area, Wirfs had a couple of choice words for them.
“Yeah, screw ’em.”
Today at One Buc Palace, Wirfs spoke after practice as the Bucs ready themselves to face the Vikings on Sunday.
Wirfs was asked about how virtually to a man and woman, the national NFL press corps thinks the Bucs are downright horrible and next year will have Caleb Williams (#CollaspeForCaleb) or Drake Maye at quarterback.
Wirfs had the above-mentioned blast and then was asked why he is confident all of these dudes and girls are wrong.
“Just the guys in here that we have,” Wirfs said of his teammates. “I know how hard everyone has worked. All the guys that were here this offseason put in work together this training camp.
“I love everyone in this locker room and I know we all have each other’s back and that’s all we need.”
This is the time of year when everyone works hard as if no one worked hard before. Joe has a hunch the Super Bowl Bucs of 2020 weren’t slackers.
Does Joe think the Bucs are trying to tank? No. Just look at the talent on defense. Does that look like a team trying to tank for a quarterback?
That doesn’t mean the Bucs will win. It’s still all about blocking and tackling. Things can go haywire awfully quick in the NFL.
Do the Bucs have the talent to make a Super Bowl run? Defensively yeah. Offensively? That’s why they play the games. As Moe Howard famously said, “We shall see.”

How did collapsing for Jameis work out for Lovie? Whenever I hear this crap, it cracks me up. Dudes actually get paid hundreds of thousands, or millions to come up with this stuff. SMH

Let’s remember, everybody’s panties were in a wad trying to decide between Winston and Mariotta. Two “ franchise” QBs just sitting there for the taking. The entire NFL ( practically) wanted those two “ can’t miss” QBs. They were the answer to many teams problem. Well, we picked first and got Jameis. Tenn picked next and took Marcus. Does anyone know how the two best guys available worked out? Stop with the madness of tanking for anyone! Total crap shoot. I think we will find some real diamonds in our UDFA class this year! Brady was a 6! Who knows what the ceiling can be for the guys we have wearing pewter this year? Coach em up!! Is it Sunday yet? GO BUCS. Make these scribes eat crow til they puke.

I feel that the heart on this team is strong. Gonna depend a LOT on the brains…how does Bowles do? Is Canales competitive with his game plan? Have the Coaches taken a step up since last yr? Can Mayfield be patient and play within himself and the scheme? Can he avoid the emotion and panic when sh*t goes bad…and it’ll inevitably go bad. Offense is going to have to lean onnthe D the first quarter for sure. And the D is going to have to outlast oppsoing O’s without getting demoralized. Gonna be interesting.

Bucs about to wreck this league. Faster defense, better OL, better RB, Pro Bowlers everywhere. Not sure why anyone doubts this team. We’re gonna crush!

Ive been a Bucs fan all my life ..and the Bucs are my team whether they win the Superbowl, or they’re 1-16. I have a good feeling about this team..I know there are alot of ?? Marks about QB, O-Line, and overall depth at several positions, but when you look at the NFC South as a whole,what do you see ? NFL is Not For Long…what do I see ? 3 other teams in the division with just as many if not more questions. This squad is by far definitely the most talented team on paper.. will Derick Carr save New Orleans? No 0 playoff appearances in 10 seasons.No. Everyone talking bout the Falcons, Desmond Rider, Hell No .. running game ? Maybe but NFL..what bout Carolina? Rookie QB, new coach not a lot of elite players….NO NO NO ALL THE ABOVE ..We’ve just got got way too much talent to stink and I believe B Mayfield is playing for his career. And he will have his best statistical year as a pro with Evans ,Godwin and crew ..

Continued..I think 9-11 wins is a reality cuz I can’t see Tampa not sweeping the division games…all the the other teams have way more questions marks , new coaches ,schemes, and a lot less talent than Tampa..and Tampa did get younger and if you read or watched the preseason or college football, leads me to believe

Continued …that the Bucs will have depth at these positions cuz these kids can play….and contribute …our schedule may be a lil rough but it is the NFL ,again not for long every year is a new year and there are a handful of sleeper teams every year..B Mayfield is a decent to good QB..He just went thru a lot of coaches was on bad teams, and got thrown into the mix and under protected more often than not..He’s athletic and can make the throws and our guys can catch…and I’m talking about the younger newer guys too.. so if we can keep him upright, and run the ball just a lil better ,and I think we will with White and the committee, not be so blah on offense and mix it up more than Manwich other team salivating Sandwich , cause Turnovers ,play Special Teams , and exploit other teams weaknesses, ( this is what good coaches do as well as play to individual players traits,) play decent defense , just decent…I think we are a sneaky ,actually SCARY..SLEEPER TEAM.. The Obvious keys here are Coaching and staying HEALTHY…COME ON BOWLES…GET W THE PROGRAM… GO BUCS This team should not have to sneak up on no one, they should run right past…Go Bucs!

Don’ t worry Big Fella there is a Beast of a Tackle at Ohio State that would be a nice addition and make it possible to move back to the right side next season.

32 teams enter the season with a chip on their shoulder, believing they are going to be winners before week 1 kicks off…However, there’s always a handful of retched W/L records at the end of the season. Go figure.

I’m probably setting myself up for dissapointment but I see this team being successful this season. Starting with a surprise win in Minnesota.
