“Optimism” Derek Carr Starts For Slimy Saints

September 30th, 2023

Saints QB Derek Carr.

There is a fun rule of thumb Joe follows on late Saturday nights and early on Sunday mornings.

Joe is often up anywhere until around 3 a.m. watching #PAC12AfterDark. Joe will miss that next year when there is no PAC-12.

Look, Joe is a football fan and Joe inhales as much football as possible even it means staying up until 3 a.m. watching West Coast ball. But another thing Joe does while watching #PAC12AfterDark is monitor the Twitter feeds of the likes of Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, among others, who are working their team and NFL sources trying to find out who will and won’t play on a given Sunday.

Such was the case last night when Rapoport claimed there is “optimism” that Derek Carr, the slimy Saints starting quarterback, will play Sunday.

Naturally, if he cannot go or he cannot finish a game, then it is Mr. Excitement, America’s Quarterback Jameis Winston.

Man, meathead slimy Saints coach Dennis Allen must really loathe Jameis if he is going to play a one-armed quarterback instead. That’s what Carr is now with an AC sprain in his shoulder.

Um was this article supposed to be posted after 12am?

  2. Joshua porter Says:

They would rather start Carr who has done nothing all year then jaymiss . They must really have no confidence in winston……

  3. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

There was actually mention of this days ago.

But the comment then was that Carr my not throw. Whatever else he could do I have no clue.

Carr at full strength would be concerning…but he can’t be at full strength.

  4. Tye Says:

They know what’s up when it comes to ole Winston…
Better chance to win risking your quality QB than to just give up and play a health, knockoff at qb…

  5. Tony Says:

Maybe they’ll start either Aaron Brooks or Archie Manning.

  6. garro Says:

Joe, You are aware that they will dope him up? Right?

    Toradol does wonders.

    Go Bucs!

  7. Hodad Says:

After watching Philly run it down our throat my guess is they’re not planning on throwing all that much no matter who the QB is. We’re not sure what we have as an offense, but the defense was never a question mark. Is it now? If N.O. can bully our Bucs like Philly did, it would be the end of any hopes this season. We were supposed to be able to hang our hat a defense this season. Injuries are no excuse. Bucs D needs a big day.

  8. BA’s Red Pen Says:

Neither of New Orleans quarterbacks are impressive.

  9. bucnjim Says:

Jameis was beat out by a Tight end and a backup QB. Probably smart to go with anyone but Winston.

  10. Fred McNeil Says:

I almost prefer the wounded duck to the healthy spazz.
