“This Screams A One Year Scotch-Tape Job”

March 22nd, 2023

“Mr. Glazer, Peter King doesn’t know what he’s talking about. And as you know, we only use duct tape and glue sticks at One Buc.”

The big-name NFL insider who picked the Saints to be the NFC’s No. 1 seed last season continues to be negative about the Bucs’ prospects with quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Peter King of NBC can’t seem to let it go. When King issues his season predictions in September, look for him to label the Bucs a five-win team.

King, on the podcast that bears his name, stuck to his hypothesis that Mayfield would have palyed for the Rams again this season if he was really wanted there following his five-game run last season.

Rams head coach Sean McVay went over the top stating his Mayfield love, but King isn’t buying it. He thinks the Rams didn’t believe starter Matthew Stafford could co-exist with Mayfield as a backup. So they wanted no part of a Mayfield return.

King apparently holds it against Mayfield for getting thrown in the Rams’ fire and, by all accounts (even from Rams fans) doing a good job in four starts.

Mayfield having four teams in 15 months, including Tampa Bay, is too big of a red flag for King to ignore.  Of Mayfield’s Tampa hiring: “This screams a one year Scotch-tape job,” he said.

General manager Jason Licht shouldn’t be scolded for the team’s salary cap restraints that led to the Mayfield signing because going all-in with Tom Brady was a smart and understandable move, King said.

Still, King thinks Mayfield won’t be the Bucs’ starter in 2024.

Joe wants to tell King to stuff a sock in his piehole. Joe can accept Mayfield criticism focused on his football, but don’t try to sell Mayfield’s five weeks with the Rams as any form of negative.

    Finally a voice of reason

  2. Buc4evr Says:

Kind of agree that is a tape job for a one year bridge, but if Mayfield excels it could be a long term thing. Considering the Bucs are in salary cap hell it was the best decision all things considered. Let’s see how it all plays out……should be a crazy season.

  3. Joe in Michigan Says:

If Dave Canales is competent in his first year as OC, which I think he will be, Mayfield will do fine.

  4. Voice of Truth Says:

Ever seen those ads “we buy ugly houses” – obviously JL has

Yeah, we are shopping at Dollar General this year – not a healthy place to buy groceries, but it’s all we can afford

    Spam anyone????

  5. Just Leave Trask Alone Says:

    Baker “Bruce Gradkowski” Mayfield

  6. rsjcheapseats Says:

It is a tape job. Sometimes that is all you can do when your HOF QB retires.
I would have gone in another direction than Mayfield but it was a reasonable signing.

  7. WillieG Says:

He’s an idiot. Let’s see what Mayfield does on the field with a stable coaching situation and “team first” receivers. Then we can talk.

  8. Voice of Truth Says:

We buy ugly quarterbacks is our new slogan for 23

Shopping at stores with no fresh produce is all we can afford

  9. Dooley Says:

You guys are setting yourselves up for disappointment in March, temper your expectations cause this can go from boom to bust at any moment. We’re basically Last Chance U for Baker Mayfields’ pro career, if he stinks I don’t think Bowles/Canales will even blink in replacing him on offense. Same for Trask, who has 1 more year on his rookie deal after 2023. Also, ya’ll are “”Mayfield is the starter why go get him if he weren’t getting the job” because w/o getting Mayfield we’d have 1 effing QB on the roster w/OTAs literally being around the corner smh

  10. Fansince76 Says:

King is a big d bag who has been mostly negative towards the Bucs throughout is career. Not much he has to say about Bucs are significant away so f em.

  11. #99 the Big fella Says:

King never has liked the bucs.. anyone who agrees with him is a idiot as well

  12. BucsFanSince1996 Says:

Mayfield is motivated to demonstrate that he IS a competent NFL starter and the Bucs will do everything they can to help him along that line.

He’ll be working closely with the OC who helped revitalize the career of Geno Smith, and he’ll have some great targets to throw to. If the Bucs can put a halfway decent o-line in place to give him time and have a decent running game then Mayfield can have a great year that will jumpstart his career.

  13. Rod Munch Says:

Well there’s no reason NOT to be negative towards the Bucs. If you don’t have a QB, you don’t have a chance. Go watch Baker Mayfield “highlights” and explain to me how he’s going to take this team to the SB. It’s not going to happen.

With that said, when a low-IQ dullard idiot like King agrees with you, you generally know you’re on the wrong track. I’ve been guessing the Bucs would win 5 games with Mayfield at QB, and if King is saying the same thing, it means I’m going to have to reevaluate that win total and change it. Don’t get excited ‘Get Baked’ idiots, I’ll probably just lower the number.

  14. JN Says:

Joe, you are dreaming. Peter King is spot on. 4 teams in 15 months is strike 1… strike 2 is that our coach is named Todd Bowles….strike 3 lack of run gm and the OL is a mess…and ill throw a 4th strike in that we have NO EDGE RUSHERS! Gotta be the worst the NFL.

Bowles couldn’t win with GOAT and he’s not gonna win with KT or BM. All the more reason JL should have blown up this roster and started over this year.

  15. Beej Says:

“Mayfield having four teams in 15 months…”

So, if Mayfield DIDN’T play 5 games for the Rams, he wouldn’t be such a problematic qb?

  16. Just Leave Trask Alone Says:

New OC with no experience. Baker Mayfield coming off of a wash out season. Bowles who blew games – playoff games – with bad calls. No pass rush. Overspent on secondary and it’s not elite. Online is suspect couldn’t get a short yardage first down all last year.

JN is right. The handwriting is on the wall. The stars are lining up in the wrong direction for Tampa.

  17. Just Leave Trask Alone Says:

    Beej yeah he got cut.

  18. Rod Munch Says:

I really wanted the team to go into tank mode this year, don’t spend anything, trade away guys who won’t be here in the near future (like Jensen, for example), and put the team on the shoulders of Trask and lets just see what happens. Then, when the team goes 3-14, great, you got a top draft pick, get your QB of the future, and of course fire all the coaches – and you got a ton of cap room to quickly support a rebuild, and hopefully be competitive again as soon as 2024.

I’m disappointed that Licht wasn’t onboard with that, and I certainly hope Licht isn’t doing this out of desperation because his job is on the line. We all knew the deal with Brady, and keeping that team together, that there would be a price to pay. But man, that price doesn’t have to be another 2-decades of losing, and being willing to just take a hit for a year doesn’t seem like much of a price to pay.

Plus, who knows, maybe Trask would have done well and then you’re in great shape.

Instead we’re going to have Baker probably start like 11 games, Trask start 5 games, and probably Josh Johnson starting a game as the Bucs go 6-11, then they can take the next VH3 in 2024 when they’re picking 9th in the draft.

I really dislike these moves that they’re doing since clearly it’s short term fixes, but for a team that doesn’t have a QB.

Unless Licht knows something we don’t, and Brady is coming back, if that was the case, then all these moves make complete sense.

  19. BucsFan81 Says:

Most likely baker and Bowles will be gone next year. We will have a new coaching staff and a top 10 pick. Will probably Draft a QB and trade any veterans that we can get pics for 2024 is the real rebuilding year. This year is just to get the cap right from the past 3 years.

  20. Goatfarmer Says:

Just keep eating Peter King. Some day maybe you and Shaun King can do a public hot dog eating contest, followed by a funnel cake eating contest. Fat boy offers no “solution” for what Licht was supposed to do given he is strapped with the league’s worst head coich.

  21. RuKa_44 Says:

Well, King picking the Saints and #1 NFC playoff last year says everything about his competence, doesn’t it?!?! (I still remember laughing my b@ll$ off when I read it).

Another guy who got a name “back in the day” and continues to live off of it even if most of his games are borderline reason for a hospice check-in…

  22. RuKa_44 Says:

    *his takes

  23. Destinjohnny Says:

It will be an awful year for BM
People don’t get in this town that when a qb has the worst offensive line in football and u can’t run and u have no time to throw because of that.
ThAt u won’t have any success. See TB12

  24. SB~LV Says:

This Screams of a One Year Con Job !

  25. PSL Bob Says:

What seems to get lost in all the Mayfield chatter is what becomes of Kyle Trask. He was a 2nd round pick. He knows the team, although he will be dealing with a new OC and system. If you’re not going to throw him into the fire, why not just cut him and grab another QB in the draft? And what makes anyone think that another rookie QB will fare any better?

  26. SB~LV Says:

    Run Mike Evans Run
    Translation trade Mike Evans!
And any other starting veteran that is likely not going to be a key player in 2025
Yeah next year is going to be chewing on shoe leather and Mike Evans is going to be more valuable to a play off team than the Bucs.
I’d trade virtually anyone who will not be key in 2025 and a few years afterwards

  27. Goatfarmer Says:

Just Leave Trask At Home Says: “New OC with no experience.

The stars are lining up in the wrong direction for Tampa.”

But it would all be ok if not for the Trask Suppression Conspiracy! Because everyone knows we should ignore two years of intense evaluation and just throw him out there, because someone thinks he played well in college! The year is setting up to be a loser, why give Bloweszo the excuse that “It was Trask’s fault?”

The primary mission is fire Bloweszo, but Licht has to try to do what Bloweszo thinks he needs to win.

  28. Joe in Michigan Says:

SB-LV: Yeah, you talked of trading Wirfs in the past, which proves you shouldn’t be the General Manager at a Dollar General, let alone an NFL team.

I really hope the Bucs have a good season for all of you Negative Nancy’s, Debbie Downers, and Kings of Peters.

  29. JN Says:

SB LV – AGREE! Unless your name is Tristan Wirfs or Vita Vea.

  30. Marine Buc Says:

    Thank you Captain Obvious!!!!

Our highest paid player is Tom Brady $35.1M…

But hey – “the salary cap isn’t real” – right guys?

    LOL!

  31. sasquatch Says:

I don’t care if Mayfield is a one year QB for us. If he plays well, he’ll get extended. If not, well, this is a transitional year anyway. Did anybody think we were going for a franchise QB this year with our cap situation? So, I see only upside from this situation. It’s going to be a challenging year, no doubt, but it’s also an opportunity for some guys to step up (including Bowles). And it’s the beginning of a new era, so that’s exciting… at least for now.

  32. SB~LV Says:

    Joemichigan
Never said trade Wirfs but I certainly would entertain trading him or any other player
This team is not even starting a zero
This team is in the negative territory
2023 is a waste of time and energy.
We don’t even have a franchise Quarterback yet, do you understand what that indicates???
    Bwahahahahaa
BT Barnum is running this franchise
Oh .. you think that the Glazer’s and Licht are going to do something that has never happened before in the NFL…
2025 is the earliest possible year and that is if they hit in the draft and make ALL the right moves ( trades)

  33. Beej Says:

The Rams cut Mayfield? I was not his aware his contract ran beyond the end of the season

  34. Captain Dan Lawrence Says:

Well done Joe! I completely agree!

  35. #99 the Big fella Says:

Joe in Michigan, I agree with your take.

  36. Goatfarmer Says:

This situation screams a scotch job. To hell with the tape.

Some Macallan 18. Screaming for Macallan 18.

  37. DBS Says:

    Just Leave Trask Alone.
If tomorrow they said Trask was the starter? I guarantee you would be singing a different tune.

  38. Eric Says:

Yeah Ole Pete not drinking the kook-aid and I don’t blame him!

  39. Trask To The Future Says:

    MAYFIELD WON’T SEE THE FIELD!

Kyle Trask is your Bucs starter. Book it.

No way is Licht & Company going to bail on their 2nd round draft pick that they said they even considered taking in the 1st round.

Trask is going to be the starter and these Trask-hater crybabies like Goatfarmer are going to be eating crow when he does well.

  40. optimisticbucfan Says:

Say Mayfield goes 9-8…would you want him back?

If he has a decent are you going to pay him $40 mill after that on a long term deal?

I think this is a lose/lose no matter what happens.

  41. Buc4evr Says:

Need OLine and Dline help no matter who the QB is. If you can’t get a 3rd and 1 you have got nothing. Need to Draft JTS’s replacement this year and a CB, and then stick to the trenches in the draft. If Mayfield goes into this season with the same type of weak OLine we had last year, he will fail.

  42. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Baker gives us the best chance at a first pick. That’s what this is really about for most of you.

I predict, barring a QB injury, that the Bucs will go DL and OL with their first 3 picks.

I also predict that they will trade late picks to get another 4th rounder.

The 4th round is when they might take a qb, but more than likely bot 4th rounders will be secondary.

  43. Buc1888 Says:

Rob Munch, don’t apply for GM jobs anytime soon. What a horrible take. You’d rather trade away fan favorites and other players that can still contribute to tank the season, creating even more holes so we can draft a qb that might work out?? And you wonder why Licht isn’t on board with that terrible line of thinking?!? Wow….just wow.

Signing Mayfield was a very good signing for several reasons.

    A) It gives Trask a veteran qb to beat out who has been to the playoffs and has had some success. If Trask can’t beat out Mayfield and Mayfield flops, then you know that you need a qb going into next season.
    B) Mayfield is 27-28 years old. If he finds his form again, Tampa gets a solid qb without having to spend a high draft pick.
    C) Mayfield came from a dysfunctional Browns team (who still missed the playoffs even after Mayfields departure) who traded for a player that had 20+ sexual allegations when Baker was hurt. Then, Baker was traded to a dysfunctional Panthers team who fired their head coach in the middle of the season. When he was released, he went to a Rams team, had to learn the playbook in less than a week, and still performed decently well all things considered.

Given the Bucs cap situation, this was as good as we could ask for when bringing in a veteran to compete with Trask. Getting rid of talent just to tank is the dumbest thing to do, especially when you have players like AWJ, Otton, Evans, Godwin, Wirfs, both White’s, Jansen, Vea, Barrett, and David, just to name a few.

Licht played this 100% correct. Let Trask compete for the job and earn it. Draft the BPA and put players around both qbs to succeed. Keep your day job please and stay as far away from the franchise as possible.

  44. BucsfanFred Says:

I don’t know what to expect from Trask at all Baker gives us a 50/50 chance to win the division depending on which Baker we get.

  45. John Says:

Panthers and rams to me don’t count. Realistically dude went from a good structured program in college to the worst organization possible for a qb to go. No one has ever been successful there. Yet we have had more sucess it’s been with defense and veteran qb play. Having canales as his new mentor I feel really good. Genius smith anyone? Is it possible to get the same results w baker?? Def possible.

  46. BucsfanFred Says:

Bonzai, we don’t have a pick in the 4th round.

  47. Larrd Says:

Only sportswriters care what King has to say. I haven’t seen a column of his for years.

Hue Jackson, Gregg Williams, and Freddie Kitchens were Baker’s first three NFL head coaches. He has done wonderfully, considering.

  48. Goatfarmer Says:

Good to see true football fans on the record saying that Trask gives the Bucs a better chance to win than Mayfield. More evidence that the Trask Suppression Conspiracy is very very deep. These opinions, based on nothing other than college tape from 3 years ago and stats, ignoring the intense scrutiny that Trask has undergone in his two years with the Bucs, proves that Trask would take us to the Super Bowl if the Bucs would just ignore what he’s done on the practice field these last two years and just trust his fans!

  49. DingleBerry Says:

Baker Mayfield averaged 170 yards 0.8 TD’s and 0.4 interceptions per game with the Rams.

You might not view that as a negative Joe, but it certainly ain’t a positive.

  50. Bucs Guy Says:

Nobody listens to Peter King anymore

  51. Trask To The Future Says:

    Goatfarmer,

Trask’s performance on WHAT practice field?

Gabbert got most of the practice reps that Brady didn’t get as the backup. You don’t give your 3rd string QB many of the reps in practice until your starter goes down. That’s just how it works.

Let Trask play behind the starting OL and throwing to Evans/Godwin/Gage before making any sort of assessment on his NFL play. He has yet to be given much of an opportunity to do that.

  52. Steven007 Says:

    LV:

    ‘Never said trade Wirfs’

Also LV (end of same sentence fragment):

”I would certainly entertain trading him or any other player’

    LV:

‘Team is in negative territory’ (um, what does that even mean?!)

LV, I’m glad Joe scared you off of your mind numbing Glazer’s selling the team garbage, but I guess a troll takes what he can get. But at least make it plausible. We have a decent roster, especially given the division we play in. We now have a QB that has more experience than any other in the division save Carr, and a winning percentage on par with Carr’s (believe it or not) at a fraction of the price, with better weapons.

Will it all turn out to be a disaster? Perhaps. It could also turn out to be a surprisingly competitive season in a division that’s ripe for the taking. But…it’s so much easier to b!tch about that half full glass isn’t it?

  53. Allen Lofton Says:

PETER King exemplifies the Media that thinks they know everything when they are so full of bullsh!t. Bunch of arrogant over-the-hill gang they should resign just like the 30+ players who are living their past glories..

  54. Goatfarmer Says:

Hahaha the Trask Suppression Conspiracy is in overdrive. That’s right Trask to the Sewer, they kept #2 in the basement, alone, without any teammates or coaches to measure his progress, because that’s what you do with a premium draft choice. You draft him so you can keep him down, away from his adoring fans. No one ever evaluated him, no one ever worked with him or coached him every day, no one would have surmised that maybe he wasn’t, and still isn’t ready for the big boy show. He probably never even threw a pass.

But because you and a few other really objective and smart fans say “it’s time to see him” because of all the homework on him you’ve done, probably playing catch after preschool and stuff, yeah!

    Let’s gooooooo!

    Trask to the Sewer!!!!

  55. keith b richardson Says:

As long as we are saddled with Bowles..we are a fire sale..another decade of shite!

  56. catcard202 Says:

I’d bet King’s full of it, Rams wanted to keep Baker as a BU, McVay loved the guy & 100% doubt Stafford is emotionally fragile at this stage in his career. (He knows a quality BU is needed on the LAR roster.)

Fact is, Bucs offered Baker a true opportunity to win a starting job. Period.

Trask is a unproven commodity that wasn’t able to beat out Gabby for the #2 job in 2yrs…& I don’t care what the FO or TB or BA has said to the media…A 2yr Healthy Scratch 2nd rd pick that can’t make the 2 deep is a HUGE HUGE red flag – to everyone in the league!!

  57. bucsfaninOregon Says:

GoatBrain, every time you post on this subject you bring up a “conspiracy” to deny Trask his rightful place in the sun.
Who is in the conspiracy? BA and the Glazers? BL and Bowles? Tom Brady and the Democrats?
That is ridiculous on the face of it.

  58. SB~LV Says:

0007 Joez nor anyone else scared me off from “selling the team “
I still believe that the Glazers are inept and out of step, they did in desperation rent 2 Lombardi trophies.
I don’t like typing Sell the Team anymore than you do reading it…. Someone in this town needs to say it!
Go ahead holding onto your empty franchise thinking it’s going to be different.
Don’t tell me what to think

  59. HC Grover Says:

Brady saved Bowles bacon last year. Brady escaped intact. Now we suffer under The Bowles Curse. The pre season hype will begone when the real games begin.

  60. bucfan34 Says:

I’d take a Baker over a Peter any day!!

Hopefully Mayfield can resurrect his career and the Bucs get some good years out of him.

  61. A Says:

I think 2023 is the year of can Trask play…can Bowles coach and get our cap in better shape. You just made a bunch of season ticket holders commit to 2yrs – the Bucs can’t just obviously tank. I personally have more faith in Trask as a QB than Bowles as a head coach. Saying that, I can understand an opinion that anyone is tradeable since we most likely won’t be competitive for a couple of years.

Going to be painful – Go Bucs!

  62. Beej Says:

Well Trask won’t be any more ready then he is now

  63. Infomeplease Says:

Baker is the least of the Buc’s problems. IMO.

  64. SB~LV Says:

The Bucs are the Sears and KMart management of the NFL,
Take the money and go away Glazers!

  65. Infomeplease Says:

A, I think you nailed part of it! It’s not so much, can BM play? It’s more, can Todd Bowles coach? Trask will ride the bench until he is not!!

  66. Goatfarmer Says:

Oregon — defog your sarcasm detector. According to the fanbois of Trashk, he’s not gotten a fair shot and should just be trotted out there.

    OF COURSE IT’S RIDICULOUS!!!!!

  67. Steven007 Says:

LV, please paste for me my comment where I told you what to think. I’ll wait. But I’m glad I suppose that I guilted you into running off with the same crapola again regarding the owners. So silly dude. Now let’s see, perhaps if you were a fan of the Commanders. Or the Texans. Or the Jets. Or the browns. Shall I continue? Then your idiocy about ownership might have some relevance. I’ve asked you before, do you think the Rams rented their super bowl since they went out and got Stafford? No team rents a super bowl. They win them and own them. I really don’t know where you come up with your contriveances but you really should try to do better. And yes, on that occasion I suppose I was telling you what to do. Guilty.

  68. D-Rok Says:

    catcard,

Steve Young behind Montana. Aaron Rodgers behind Brett Favre. Tom Brady behind Drew Bledsoe.

Just to name a few who sat for a few seasons before they got their shot. The status of Trask beginning his 3rd season doesn’t bother me yet.

    Yet.

If Trask doesn’t get a chance in his 4th season, his best ceiling is a backup. This year, and next, will likely dictate the career of Trask.

  69. Goatfarmer Says:

D-Rok, don’t forget, everyone is against Trask so he’ll never get his fair shot. The Bucs don’t want to win anymore so they don’t put their best players on the field anymore. They just want to torture us, and especially Kyle Trask fans.

  70. D-Rok Says:

    Goatfleecer,

I’m NOT against Trask. Not for him, either. Just haven’t seen him play meaningful snaps yet. Whether he will or not is up to OBP, and the football powers that be.

I just think fans need to take a step back and realize that sometimes excellent players don’t play their first few years. And that’s all ANYBODY knows about Trask to this point – none of us know what he can do.

We can debate ad nauseam why this is so, but my point is, there IS NFL precedent for this sort of thing.

For those pining for Trask, I advise, patience, Grasshopper. Patience.

  71. Trask To The Future Says:

    Goatfarmer,

Of course they’ve done ‘some’ work with Trask. But they brought in a veteran (Gabbert) so they wouldn’t have to rely on a young draft pick to be the backup behind Brady in case Brady got hurt.

It’s going to be so funny to watch you eat crow when Trask starts.

  72. D-Rok Says:

    Goat,

I’m in a modicum of moderation. Hopefully my content will drop soon.

  73. Jerseybuc Says:

King is a straight clown sorry but he is. Baker going to be just fine! Kid can play he needs some stability n talent bucs have that. Bowels is what scares me

  74. Brazen Zebra Says:

I gotta get on the Bucs bandwagon and support Baker Mayfield. There’s no such thing as a perfect NFL QB. It’s almost a sure bet that Baker will start the regular season as the Bucs’ QB. So, no negative thoughts, no wise-guy comments from me. Let’s see what he’s got. He might surprise everyone, kinda like Stafford surprised everyone by winning the SB with the Rams. Hey, Shake ‘n Bake! Go Baker! Go Bucs!!

  75. A Says:

I feel like through those years way back when and even when Mahomes was a backup QB…we would read about how good these back-ups look in practice. Maybe way back when – reporters got more practice time? In any case, I don’t remember ever reading Trask impressing in practice? As fans, we’ve gotten a very little look at Trask. An observation I had…when Brady was here we always gave him either a check down WR or RB…a lot of times those receivers are wide and at or near the line of scrimmage. Brady absolutely riffled that throw – in Trask’s 1st year he didn’t…I was looking for arm strength in his 2nd year…again, we didn’t see much of him but he still didn’t seem to throw with much velocity…he can get distance but doesn’t seem to have the fast ball.

We soon shall find out – Go Bucs!

  76. Da Bucs Guy Says:

It’s not a scotch tape job, it’s that knock off, dollar store brand that is just garbage.

  77. D-Rok Says:

    Test

  78. D-Rok Says:

Is “fleecing” a word worthy of moderation? Waiting for the mediocre modiators to release my latest single, and I can find nothing wrong with my verbiage, dialect, intonation, nor eclectic style, even if I had a style.

Release my content, yo – I wish to be heard!

  79. HC Grover Says:

Do not worry Buc Fans…Plan 9 from Outer Space will save the day.

  80. Mcruzer Says:

I am going to “talk italian” to Rod Munch about him wanting to go into tank mode. This is not freaking baseball or basketball where there are tons of games played each season. Some of us are in our 50’s and any game or season may be our last. Any season in our weak division could turn into us getting to the playoffs.

  81. Vancouver Buc Says:

‘…eat crow when trask starts’…when? In the last pre-season game?

  82. Curse of Gruden Says:

King got crabs at the Mons once, and has hated Tampa Bay ever since.

  83. Just Leave Trask Alone Says:

DB that is simply not true. They parked him outside of competitive reps. This is known.

  84. Just Leave Trask Alone Says:

King didn’t get any play at Mons. He spent a ton of money and didn’t get squat.

    That’s why he’s money.

That’s why he’s mad. Damn autocorrect

  86. Mike Johnson Says:

If this team finishes at 500 or better? Bowles keeps his job.

  87. Goatfarmer Says:

Trash to the Sewer — you don’t get to decide who starts, which is part of your problem. The chances of Trask starting go up with time, like maybe by 2028.

The chances he starts in 2023 are slightly lower than you making an objective post about the boy.

  88. Goatfarmer Says:

“DB that is simply not true. They parked him outside of competitive reps. This is known.”

Let’s see your sources on that. If Jesus came to you in a dream and told you, that’s cool. Time scales tend to be a little….different in biblical terms versus reality.

  89. Goatfarmer Says:

And, if true that he were parked outside of competitive reps……………it’s either ineptitude, or The Trask Suppression Conspiracy.

    Which is it?

  90. David Says:

Of course it’s a one year thing. Him and Trask are being given an opportunity of one year to show what they can do, who can win the job and if they can be the franchise guy moving forward. If not, they are drafting the QB next year.
    Exactly what they should do.

“This Screams A One Year Scotch-Tape Job”

Funny, I could say the same thing about his weekly so-called Football piece.

  92. Rod Munch Says:

Buc1888 – So yeah, I want to take away the Bucs favorite players (Jensen is at the top of that list apparently) so we can actually get back to winning, in hopefully, 2024. Your brilliant solution, however, is to lock the Bucs into going 5-12 or, maybe if everything goes right, 6-11, for the next decade – because that’s better than going 3-14 for one year.

And you call other people idiots? Wow.

The Bucs are the Sears and KMart management of the NFL,
Take the money and go away Glazers!

Let’s think this through…Say you and your family owned a multi billion dollar business that made you millions of dollars every year…Would you:

    A) Keep it in your family
    B) Sell it because some yahoo on JBF wanted you to

I think we know what your answer would be, unless you’re baths!t crazy.

  94. Letsbucinggo Says:

We will win just enough to prevent us from getting a top notch quarterback in the 2024 draft its called Bowles curse!

  95. garro Says:

    Can you say …click bait?
For guy with no credibility the Joe’s sure propagate another of his nonsense.
    Just saying…
