Bill Polish, as Joe has dutifully pointed out, loves his lineman to be athletic with a wrestling background or mixed martial arts. Guess whose a beast of an athlete, along with a pure technician. Wirfs.
Ian Beckles also points out that watching Wirfs is amazing bc he’s perfect on each play from a technique standpoint and he is a dominating physical presence. He a true student of the game and a realist, so his take also speaks volumes.
You put your best tackle on the left. Wirfs is the best tackle in the league and will want LT money anyways so might as well have him play LT. Easier to find a RT in the draft and cheaper in free agency.
It’s actually pretty simple, “Tristan, do you want to move to LT”?
Will Wirfs be the same at LT as he is at RT? That’s not the real question, the real question would be is he a better option at LT then what’s available? Will he upgrade the position? I would say it’s more important to have a solid LT (Wirfs) and saloon door at RT than a all pro RT (Wirfs) and a saloon door at LT
Nope, draft & sign some OLmen to add to Molchon, Niese, Walton & Goedeke and let that crop of guys compete to flesh out the spots open to the left of Ryan Jensen. Mason & Wirfs need to be left….right where they are.
Don’t switch anybody. Either draft a tackle or pick one up in free agency. Ohh but I forgot..We ain’t got no money huh?
Gonna be a cold long season guys. Drink up.
So far, so good; but the offense hasn’t been punched in the face yet.
I wish the Bucs weren’t in such bad cap space, or could pull a Saints and totally disregard the cap. So far the chaff is still around and the good guys are bailing, which is not what I want to see.
Trask might be good, but with a bad team around him he can’t be good, so keep the offense together as much as possible and let Bowles remake his defense.
O-line can be decent with just the guys on the team, if the OC can make it easy for them.
Craig, that is a rational take. The issue is, Bloweszo defies rational takes. With him as head coich, the Bucs are guaranteed to be wrong, and hence losers, no matter what they end up doing in FA and the draft.
@Goat, Im trying to help Blowes and Licht…whoever is going to be at QB, they better have a good LT, a good TE that can block AND a huge catch radius for those error throws….and a good run/return game…whoever we have at QB is going to need this….thats what Canales wants, so lets do it….
…its going to be a sh!t year anyways lol, so get some rooks plugged into position for experience. A 3 to 4 win season coming right up, but we’re putting pieces of the puzzle together.
1st TE Darnell Washington
2nd RB Devon Achane
3rd LT Jaelyn Duncan
Max – fair dinkum! I’m just so depressed about this head coich of ours. Whatever happens, it’s 5-12 at best. With whomever. Whatever scheme. The only thing I see to hope for is Mikey keeping his 1000 yard season streak in tact. Which is in deep trouble if #2 somehow beats out a couple of blind cripples to win the job.

No preference.
Yes- if that’s what’s best.
No- if something is is better.
Wirfs is a team player and a dog. He will annihilate the man in front of him, whether on the left or right.
If anything, I pity the RDE and rushers if he does make the move, bc he’s going to make them his b!tch regardless.

Tell me, I’m wrong.

It won’t matter.
Think 12 points per game under the current Jets coiching failure.
March 9th, 2023 at 9:17 am
No
March 9th, 2023 at 9:19 am
Lol Goat!
You’re right! It doesn’t matter! Bc Wirfs is going to absolutely punish any defender in his way. He plays bully ball.
March 9th, 2023 at 9:19 am
Do you keep your season tkts to keep hope alive or let them go? I was not impressed by Bowles decisions on the field so tough choice.
March 9th, 2023 at 9:25 am
He needs to be a LT because he is going to cost 20mil a year and you just cant pay a RT that.

I voted yes…..but I really think it depends on the draft/FA…….
He is certainly talented enough to do well at LT…….and he’ll get a huge payday….probably too much for a RT…..so move him.

Nope!
Get a LT in the draft or FA….

Do not mess with one of the top oline. Draft a LT and sign a cheaper vet as well. Wells is old garbage if you wanna put him at 3

Don’t fix what isn’t broken. Keep Wirf at RT.
