Why can’t you do all three? Draft a QB in 2nd, sign a vet and let Trask compete for job in the offseason.
Like it or not we are back to regularly scheduled programming in Tampa.
Roll with Trask, but also draft a qb in the 2nd….Hendon Hooker (still recovering from acl surgery) after drafting LT Duncan 1st….. and slide Smith to LG.
I voted to roll with Trask. Bowles is a lame duck head coach. He couldn’t win with Brady and he’s not going to win with Trask. He’ll be fired next year. I’m not saying the team should tank in 2023 but the team should get their finances right in 2023. That will probably mean fielding a below average team that won’t be able to win much.
Man.. unreal. Rodgers gets paid 50 million dollars that we don’t have. And would probably require all our draft picks this year. Not to mention that he might retire any time. Please guys…. do a little research before dumping a crazy train load on this board.

If Trask turns into the guy? Great! If not thats ok too. Build the team clear cap space and be in a better situation for the next QB. This wasnt a real playoff team this year and wont be next year. Time to see whos stayin and who to move on from.
Looking for the box that says PUNT. Aaron Roger’s, now that has to be the funniest post on this site. He would destroy this organization worst than it already is and cost them $50M in the process. If you get Roger’s save on the OC cause.he won’t listen to him or her anyway.
I see 2023 as an opportunity to right the ship financially and set the bucs up for long term success.
No high priced FA this year and invest heavy in the trenches OL/DL/Edge. Then should roll with Trask and see what he’s got otherwise he is the worst draft pick outside of Roberto in the Licht era.
If he is successful that’s great! If he fails Bucs will be in position to draft Caleb Williams in 2024.
@daniel those are the same people who are happy TB is retired. Next season is gonna suck. Back to the same crap we had before. To top it off we are back in the same position with a crappy head coach. At least we had hope with BA. What a bad dream. Seems like yesterday we were on top of the mountain. Only the Bucs could have tb and not capitalize on it for 3 years. I believe Brady would have come back if Tampa built this thing the right way. Sucks. Go Bucs!
The likely route is Trask and a middle of the road veteran for this year, see how the draft unfolds, maybe they take a flier on a development QB this year. Can’t see them using an early round pick on a QB this year unless someone falls in their lap.
No to anyone that will cost $20+ million so no Rodgers or Jackson. We are rebuild mode. Let Bowles crap the team into the toilet and be happy with a few wins next season as we clear cap space. 2-3 years get rid of Bowles for a good coach and get a QB (draft or veteran), while having cap space and picks.
Go all out for Monken and then draft Stetson Bennett in the later rounds (5).
It is a shame that this is how we have to see if Trask can make it, but it is all we have. Do not grab a has-been QB in free agency; we saw how well that worked last season and there are a few empty coaches seats because of it.
Brady was an outlier among FA QBs, he gave us a couple of good season and I thank him for it. It is time to rebuild and try again for a franchise QB. Trask has more to offer than most of this years crop. He is tall enough, just barely athletic enough, and really does have enough arm.
The Bucs will need every draft pick they have this year (plus a couple compensatory ones) to field even a bad team this season; no need to trade away a possible future to get an early round QB who probably will be worse than Trask. Roll with it.
At the very least a two man QB competition is coming to 1Bucs soon. Draft-wise, I wouldn’t be mad taking a shot at Hooker, Duggan, and even Levis if he were to fall between now & draft day, but just handing the offense over to Kyle Trask would be dumb af to me.

If Trask is the starter we’ll be drafting in the top three and have a new head coach in 24.

Honestly? Really? Trask? A third stringer as our starter with veterans like Godwin, Evans, Gage. Absolutely no freaking experience throwing to any of these receivers. Jesus people talking about low standards and short sightedness. They have to sign a vet and draft a true QB for the future. It’s a no brainer.
Boy I’m truly sick if these pessimistic fans. I go into every year believing we can win. This is a crap division. Don’t forget we have Jensen coming back, Wirfs, Mason (three good lineman), a rehabbed Smith, and Stinnie possibly. We could have a decent line next year. The D is decent with the exception of SMB and lack of pass rush. This team can be competitive with a decent QB at the helm. Their going to save 25,000,000 with Brady retiring and a really good cap manipulator. They can most definitely win the division with someone like Carr, Jimmy G, what about Cooper Rush?
@ Sly Pirate absolutely right plus Trask may not even fit the new OC’s scheme. Remember Trask was a BA guy well BA’s gone and so is his offensive philosophy

If its not Aaron Rodgers then I would rather go with Trask for the year.

Trask is a backup, sorry.
February 1st, 2023 at 9:42 am
for me its Baker Mayfield, Derek Car or trask.
I think we should spend all our draft and free agent capital on trenches and defense this year.
If we suck with trask? then we will have a low enough draft pick to get a good QB and some young WR/RB next year.

Draft CJ Stroud and start him from Day 1.
We’re going to be a losing franchise as long as Toilet Bowles is our HC anyway, so might as well get the kid as much experience as possible.
And who knows, maybe Stroud can put this entire team on his back (including our subpar defense) and we can win some games…
February 1st, 2023 at 10:15 am
No thanks to Rodgers. It’s time to let Trask compete for the starting spot. It’s a rebuild, regardless of what Bowles says.

Tom Brady for OC!!!!
And then HC next year!
February 1st, 2023 at 11:37 am
Split sign and trade up. Do not trade for anybody. Sign Mayfield and see what happens with him and Trask. Build through draft.
Unless Lamar hits FA go less with Mayfield.
February 1st, 2023 at 11:38 am
BLOW IT UP. Start whoever you want, just dont trade draft capital. Unless its for a young stud at qb.
Trask will lead the Bucs to the promised land of a top 10 pick in next years draft
