Todd Bowles Unhappy With Backups

At one point in the first half, largely playing with a JV offensive line due to injuries, the Bucs led the lowly Dixie Chicks 17-10 in the first quarter.
That didn’t last as Atlanta outscored the Bucs’ backups 20-0 the rest of the way to hand the Bucs a loss, a losing season and Tom Brady his first losing season.
After the game, Bucs coach Todd Bowles pointed a finger directly at the backups for gagging the game away.
“We expect them to play the same way [as starters] with little dropoff,” Bowles said. “We had more dropoff than we wanted to. Given the opportunity, those guys have to play better.”
Bowles seemed particularly unhappy with the backup defense and its young players.
“We should have been able to preserve the lead,” Bowles said. “We got beat on the fundamental stuff. We’ll have to go back to the drawing board with some of those younger guys.”
Bowles had no updates on center Robert Hainsey’s hamstring injury or safety Keanu Neal’s hip (Bowles was not asked about Kyle Rudolph’s knee injury).
As for Mike Evans being sick, Bowles said there has been a bug going around One Buc Palace of late and Evans apparently got stung.

Fck Todd Bowles he is on track to be leading this team next year and the second half of today’s game is what our team will look like all the decent players except a very few will be gone and no one will play well for this clown show coach staff. Todays game is a forecast of the Bucs future, we will lose all 6 games in the division just like today and be on track for a #1 draft pick in 2024.

So bowles does exactly what the LOSERS in this town and what the media wants. Pull the starters and lose. He does it and now the losers are pissed!!! Waaaawaaaawaaaa! Cry, complain about every dag on thing. Bowles cost Brady a career record, but more importantly may have blown a great opportunity to roll into the playoffs with great momentum. I never seen a town with do many freakin losers!!!!

Todd Bowles calls a great defensive game with the starters…..for sure.
But these backups….they looked awful except for JTS…..
JTS has been improving the last three games…..BUT….THEY’VE also been playing against not so good teams.
If JTS can flash in the playoffs….then that’s true signs of improvement

Failcons are miserable. Bucs get beat by 2nd string teams all the time so it’s definitely possible.

Since the starters often appear to not have a clue what their assignments are, it’s completely in the norm for the backups to be hapless. Which they were, in fact it’s insulting to the rest of the hapless to call them that.

It was clear Brady didn’t know Bowels gassing the game. Brady will continue to play and try to win but make NO mistake the minute they lose his locker will be empty. Brady loathes this guy.

I saw a few veteran players in the 4th qtr. playing defense like rookies, actually. Left wide-open gaps and tackled poorly. Maybe they aren’t as good this year as we think.

Guess what? Those guys stunk it up in the preseason also and they did not improve because there is no coaching up players on this team because that requires coaches. The BUCS have a staff getting paychecks but not coaches.

I don’t Gabs is that bad, but there’s a lot of QBs that will be available and call me crazy, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Sam Darnold here next year. Yes the backups especially the D were horrible, but seeing Gholston, Jensen destroyer aka Logan Hall who’s got bust all over him, Winfield, SMB, Senat and Nunez who are garbage DTS not be able to stop Ridder and rookies was really bad!! JTS was the only one who showed effort. How did Bowles get this job ? The great mystery and no way BA recommending him sealed the deal. Staying positive about next week !! Not ready to be a YUC, but Brady not acknowledging the other team which I don’t think I’ve ever seen just shows how mad he was and pretty sure it was about coaching and play
