So What Does Cole Beasley Know?

December 14th, 2022

“Ha, I was better than Byron Leftwich!

Yeah, Joe already touched on veteran receiver Cole Beasley, who signed with the Bucs just long enough to discover Big Storm Brewing before retiring. Then he unretired Tuesday.

Beasley is now a member of the Buffalo Bills, his second stint in western New York.

Now when Beasley signed with the Bucs in late September for about two weeks, Joe asked him how much of a factor was Tom Brady in luring him to Tampa Bay. Beasley said it was a major factor.

Beasley then told Joe he was pestering Brady on Instagram to pull strings to get him a shot with the Bucs.

Two weeks later, after losses to the Packers and Chiefs, Beasley, shockingly, retired.

What happened?

Beasley’s agent claimed his client wanted to spend more time with his family. So all of a sudden Beasley has seen enough of his family?>

Joe thinks Beasley spent just enough time with the Bucs to realize the stench that is failing Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich and wanted nothing to do with it.

Think about it: The Bucs would be better off with ill-suited Marcus Arroyo running the offense over Leftwich. As the great Custodian of Canton, Ira Kaufman, noted on the recent edition of his podcast, the Bucs are averaging with Tom Brady, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans and Playoff Lenny 17.2 points a game.

With Stewart McClown, Mike Glennon at quarterback and Arroyo calling the shots, the Bucs averaged 17.3 points a game.

Just on that stat alone, Leftwich ought to have his keycard to One Buc Palace deactivated. He should have had that card deactivated months ago.

LOL Insulated bilionaires are a trip: It’s like they think their decisions are beyond reproach and they never admit a mistake. Maybe if they ignore it then it will go away.

    ffs PLEASE fire Leftwich today!
    Admit your mistake.
It was a nice gesture to let him try but he’s dragging the whole franchise down now. He’s run off Brady. The fans are in an uproar.
    Bowles isn’t much better:
    Poorly conditioned injury prone team.
Entitlement. Stupid mistakes. Lazy play. Poor planning. NO adjustments what-so-ever.

    Running off Brady is inexcusable.
I didn’t watch at all last week . I worked all day and was patting myself on the back when heard about the MISERABLE PATHETIC game LOL. I plan to not watch this week either.

    Great job glazers! (sarcasm)

  2. Tye Says:

    Beasley wised up quick!
Sure wish the owners would have….

  3. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Bradys first 2 years here top notch FA’s were clamoring to join the team. Now we’re back to the days of the Bucs being a joke for guys like Easy Money Sweezey to get a paid vaction. The Cole Beasley thing is just embarrassing.
    The whole organization is embarrassing

  4. NCalBucsfan Says:

Beasley is quoted as saying he retired from the Bucs because they had some big moneys players coming back and he probably wasn’t going to play much.

  5. Old School Bucs Says:

    Aaaaaahhhh, this season isnt over!!!

  6. Bucswin Says:

    When will it end?

  7. captivajim Says:

Beasley saw the the disfunctional situation with Bowles& Leftwich–i give him kuddos for doing the right thing for himself…I have a hunch that neither Bowles nor Leftwich wanted Brady to bring in guys anymore after the AB ending.

Interesting ,in that , we don’t know whether Bucs tried to reach a deal with SUH & he passed it up for similer reasons ?

But both Beasley & Suh are with legit SB contenders ;;one of them will get a ring …

  8. NCalBucsfan Says:

As a follow up -Actually per the ESPN story it was a tweet by Beasley on November 6th where Beasley made that statement.
Nothing to see here, let’s just move along….

  9. Joe Says:

He (and his agent) didn’t know that before he signed?

  10. Oxycondoms Says:

Licht awfully quiet showing no signs of support for anyone

How many times has Jason Licht spoken during the regular season since he’s been here? Twice? Either last year or the year before he had a press conference during the regular season and everyone (local media) was like, “Holy sh!t, what has happened? What’s wrong?”

But yeah, the kiss of death for Lefty would be appreciated. 🙂

  12. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Vlad would be happy to impale him, but there are laws against that in your country.

  13. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Perhaps your congress could make an exception in the case of Leftwich?
I believe your military allows the death penalty in cases of aiding the enemy

  14. Kentucky Buc Says:

I’m sure Beasley thought he was going to be way down the receiver list. Going a little overboard on some of the articles. He wasn’t there long enough for much else.

  15. Buczilla Says:

“He should have had that card deactivated months ago.”

By all that is good, yes! Our coaches are incapable of making good adjustments during a game and our front office is guilty of the same thing during this season. Sometimes ya just gotta let go man. I like Licht a whole bunch, but this bullspit is on him unless ownership is forcing his hand.

  16. steele Says:

I think Joe is reading too much into this. It could be any number of things or a combination. Knowing he wouldn’t get enough snaps, uncertainty about other signings (that Bucs never made), legit desire to retire followed by a change of mind. Or your conspiracy version.

    Beasley should feel fortunate.

  17. Trask To The Future Says:

How did we not retain Bradley’s rights?

  18. Trask To The Future Says:

    *Beasley’s

  19. Hodad Says:

If his family still lives in Buffalo it makes sense. He wants a ring. Didn’t take him long to realize that wasn’t happening in Tampa this year.

  20. JeffreyLane77 Says:

Beasley doesn’t “Know” anything. He’s hoping a playoff team needs his services.

  21. JeffreyLane77 Says:

    Apparently the Bills.

  22. Eckwood Says:

I’m sure Devin White knows the Answer !!

  23. Chris Says:

Jeez, Joe will go to any lengths to bash Leftwich. Beasley was awful in his few games in Tampa.

  24. Cobraboy Says:

Woke will keep the Glazers from spitcanning Bowles & Leftwich.

This is a really sad situation.

  25. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

It was the awesome Chicken Wings up in Buffalo that brought Cole Beasley out of retirement.
Seriously, outside of the weather, Buffalo is a great place to be if you play for the Bills.
They have an absolutely fanatical fan base, and every Buffalo Bill is a local hero.
Plus, they have a winning team, w/o all the drama and problems we have here.

  26. beano Says:

Cole Beasley left because he listened to Beano and knew the season was over.

  27. Mr. Editor Says:

If Team Glazer gives Byron Leftwich a hefty raise and a contract extension, that will be the kiss of death. They love to sign coaches and players for multiple years and then fire them. They’ve been giving advice to the Titans related to ex-GM Jon Robinson. That’s just how they roll. The team is just finishing off paying out Dirk Koetter’s staff.

  28. NEfan Says:

Brady probably pulled him aside and told him, sorry dude BL isn’t going to let you play, he wants to run the ball as directed by Mr. Conservative himself Toilet Bowls.

  29. Jack Sparrow Says:

Beasley saw the offensive play book and told himself…. “Holy Sh*t,,,, this is garbage…. can’t help Tommy boy with this garbage schemes, I’m outta here…

  30. TombsEN Says:

Like NCAL said above Beasley responded to a question on Twitter about why he left and he mentioned that the Bucs had a lot of money in the position so he wasn’t going to play much. But hey let’s just run with anything….I mean it’s like people choose to be oblivious.

  31. Pelsbuc61 Says:

The fans deserved so much more than the excrement displayed every Sunday. With the exception of Brady, no life on this team. Just wait until after this season when he’s not here.

all of you asking for bowles and leftwich to be fired have forgotten the period of America we are in. its never going to happen this season
