“He Still Has A Bad Knee”

December 28th, 2022

Tight-lipped.

Joe knows this annoys people, some to no end, but information is information.

Bucs coach Todd Bowles still won’t fill fans in on what is exactly wrong with center Ryan Jensen.

Jensen, of course, practiced today for the first time since the second day of training camp when he blew out his knee and ended up on injured reserve. For several weeks, when Bowles was asked about Jensen’s injury, he would only offer up how doctors were waiting for swelling to subside before a diagnosis could be made.

Joe mentioned at the time if, after a few weeks, Jensen still had swelling, he was dealing with something much more severe than a knee injury.

Today, after Bowles said Jensen won’t play Sunday and sort of threw cold water on Jensen possibly playing next week at Atlanta, Bowles was asked what specifically happened to his knee.

Bowles wouldn’t oblige.

“He still has a bad knee,” Bowles said of Jensen. “I ain’t going to get into specifics of it. We will see what he can tolerate and what can’t.”

Earlier, Bowles said the team isn’t even thinking of putting pads on Jensen, and he stressed Jensen getting back on the field for the first time in five months is part of his normally scheduled rehab plan.

So there you have it. The Bucs know what happened to Jensen, but short of Jensen spilling the beans, we can only guess what the injury exactly was.

1st. I must be skipping work.

  2. Anonymous Says:

add this to the unexplainable 2022 Buc season

  3. gotbbucs Says:

If they send Jensen out there to destroy his knee for the sake of this joke of a season, the entire organization should be put on trial by the NFL.
Same thing goes for Tristan Wirfs. His ankles are going to be shot before he gets to his 2nd contract because these morons keep throwing him out there before he is fully healed, and for what? This team has zero chance of advancing beyond the first round of the playoffs, if they even make the playoffs that is.
Shut these injured guys down and let them rehab correctly.

  4. Beej Says:

Can a torn…..ANYthing, heal in 5 months without surgery?

  5. Statguy Says:

And you’re still a bad HC

  6. D-Rok Says:

The lack of transparency from this coaching staff on a pro-bowl player is appalling.

Just tell what is going on, please! We can handle the truth, but smoke n mirrors aint gonna give us any confidence in how you pilot your ship, Mr. Bowles.

    C’mon, man! This is ridiculous.

  7. Dew Says:

    LMAO

  8. Buccos Says:

I don’t know guys. Anything can happen if a team gets hot and healthy going into the playoffs. The main goal of the regular season is to make the playoffs. After that anything can happen. It’s a brand new season. And I know one thing for sure. You would be homeless and living under a bridge if you kept betting against the GOAT throughput his career. And hasn’t he won every other Super Bowl since 2015. He is due for one more.

  9. Crickett Baker Says:

Jensen may even have had surgery. We don’t know nuttin’. I loved anonymous’s post. Ain’t it the truth? I feel Todd is treating us fans like growing mushrooms. Keep us in the dark and feed us SH..crap.

  10. theghost Says:

If they can take care of the kitties and shyttbirds, theres a chance they can take out the dallas playoff choke artists in the wildcard

  11. sasquatch Says:

I’m not sure any suspicion is warranted. Unless a team is required to be more specific about an injury, they aren’t usually going to be very forthcoming. He had an injury. Most likely there were torn ligaments, but not fully torn, or there definitely would have been surgery. And Jensen may have had the option to get surgery or to let it heal on its own, and he opted for rest, healing, and rehab instead of surgery. It’s actually pretty encouraging that he’s going out to practice, but Bowles’ comments don’t make it sound like being ready to play in a game is actually realistic.

  12. richbucsfan Says:

For those that can surmise: he tore/strained the MCL, LCL, and/or ACL. News about it was immediately shut down, but by now I think we all get it. The injury was very serious. I suppose the nut cases at OBP feel good that no one knows the exact diagnosis, but the rest of us just shake our heads at their paranoia.

  13. richbucsfan Says:

… and, again, during the off-season you will find out the truth about the team mal and misfunction of this team. Bowles #1 priority has been to keep a lid on it, but there has been one very interesting leak, albeit injury revealed (cough cough from Playoff Lennie)

  14. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The ONLY way Jensen should play is if the rest of the team earns a playoff spot.

  15. BucsFan81 Says:

I miss BA I feel like when the press asked him a question you got the truth an honest response. This regime sucks. They don’t want to speak on anything and the coaching this season has been horrible. A lot of the players if not all have regressed. Does it really matter if we even make the playoffs. Even if they do make the playoffs whatever team they face will embarrass them and this coaching staff.

  16. Pryda sec 147 Says:

    Hate this guy

  17. kyle Says:

gotbucs^^ no shizz… that was what i was thinking too

  18. Jeff Says:

Bucs could have landed Gronk this season but held the spot for a guy with a partially torn ACL that might come back to play at 50%. Yucs being Yucs! Duuuh-yup!

  19. Eckwood Says:

He must be Roomies with Julio …….. dude can’t catch 3 passes without being touched and he’s hurt ……….. Light this is like when you signed a bunch of tired assss bums and giggled and laughed and went and found cameras and microphones and said you were going to rough the league up !!!! Never forget that childish inexperienced stupid comment ……..Eat a Cheeseburger Baker !!!

  20. Curse of Gruden Says:

The way Bowles butchers the English language is embarrassing for a leader of such a large organization. But, he checks the box.

  21. Goatfarmer Says:

Todd, interesting. Jensen still has a bad knee, and you’re still a bad head coach.

  22. steele Says:

So there’s still “too much swelling to diagnose”. Five months later. Good job, OneBuc.

  23. Bucsjunkie Says:

Earlier this week on the Pat McAfee show when AQ Shipley was on, they were talking about the Bucs, and Pat asked AQ if Ryan Jensen was dealing with an ACL, and AQ said yes….
