NFC South Tightens Up

November 20th, 2022

Hero.

The chase for the NFC South crown got significantly more interesting this afternoon.

First, the Andy Dalton show in New Orleans fired up with the veteran QB completing 21-of-25 passes for 260 yards and 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. The slimy Saints (4-7) held off the sunken Rams (3-7) by a touchdown, 27-20.

In Atlanta, the Falcons won Joe a pile of money by surpassing their season win total line of 4 1/2 games! Atlanta hammered the ball on the ground with 33 carries for 149 yards, and that didn’t even come close how many times the Bears ran the ball (41). The 1970s football game was won by Atlanta 27-24.

Atlanta moved to 5-6 and half a game behind the Bucs (5-5). The Falcons travel to face the Washington Commandos (6-5) next Sunday.

Joe likes the added pressure on the Bucs. Anything to keep the fire lit under the team.

JW lost his job because JW is a not an NFL QB.

  2. Casual Observer Says:

    Injured ego?

  3. Cobraboy Says:

    Jameis whining?

    What a great teammate…

  4. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

The Falcons play the Washington Commanders next week who should take care of them.
    The Panthers lost.
Hopefully we will have no problem with Cleveland next week.

  5. Davenport Says:

Best case scenario is that all the NFC South keeps winning. In the end, Bucs win a lousy division and all the losers screw up their draft position while chasing them.

As for our old friend JW, he’s still a turnover machine and now he can add divisive whiner to his list of talents

  6. R0n@Tampa Says:

Like many of you I am looking forward to seeing the Bucs become the next dynasty. Win the title this year and next and we are there.

  7. David Says:

I know SUCCOP made a 54 yarder this year and is almost automatic from inside 40 BUT as soon as he lines up for anything 43+ you’re holding your breath. That needs to change next year.
I am watching games this weekend where 50–60 yard kicks are routine. It’s as if they are the new 40- 50 yarders.

I am not saying they need to draft a kicker, but they need a young kicker that has a leg

  8. Sean Says:

Maybe it’s just my cynical pessimism but I wouldn’t sleep on Atlanta. They have an easy schedule and they’ve frankly looked better than the Bucs for portions of the season. I was really hoping they’d lose. The Browns are beatable but this strikes me as a “team-only-meeting-rally-for-dignity-even-though-the-season-is-lost” sort of week for the Browns. The Bucs need to understand that the Browns are not going to lay down and die. Neither is Atlanta.

  9. Hodad Says:

What policy? You lost your job because the other guy is better then you. He’s not the turnover machine you are. Yo, check yo sheet!

  10. Goatfarmer Says:

How many souls did JaMiss hurt when he was throwing 30 interceptions and didn’t seem to understand that it was hurting his team. What a pussoi.

  11. DoooshLaRue Says:

Does this mean that JayMiss finally doesn’t feel blessed?
    😂😂

  12. Deeez NATZ Says:

You lost your job because you are an entitled piece of ash Uber grabber. Spit in that mo foes face! Worst buccaneer quarterback ever! Worse than me- throw boron.

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We need to win the games we should win….Starting with the Browns

  14. NEfan Says:

Oneilsuckyall couldn’t have said it better himself. Jamais, how do you like me now? Cleveland is no push over and Bucs play them in their house at a cooler temperature than they are accustom.

  15. Lamarcus Says:

It just keeps getting harder the BUCS. This division isn’t over. Should of beat those Panthers and Steelers.

  16. NEfan Says:

Hoping others lose so the Bucs achieve is a loosers mentality. Win the games and Bucs are in.

  17. DoooshLaRue Says:

JayMiss be sporting that smoove RG3 doo……

  18. AmauryGuzman Says:

Bucs better beat the browns next week on the road. Have to win that game.

  19. JimmyJack Says:

First off that Saints game is a big game. Win that and the division is ours. I dont see the Falcons holding up til the last week of the season to give us a do or die for the division(thought that would be fun).

Second I am so happy to see Jamies irrevelant 3 seasons later……..Shame, I could root for the kid if he didnt go to my most hated team but he did and that means I am sworn to hate him.

    GOOO BUCS!!!

  20. R0n@Tampa Says:

Anybody want to guess how many titles we rack up the next 5 years?

  21. DungyDance Says:

By Winston’s logic, Drew Bledsoe should have been put back as the Pats starter, and Brady should not have stayed on once he was healthy. (Because that’s the policy). Get over yourself dude.

  22. Buc55 Says:

Ask Bledsoe, Jameis… Or go eat a W somewhere else.. who cares…

  23. Redeemer Says:

It’s all about Jaymiss. Just one year, I’d love for the teams with top picks to pass on these bums. Zack Morris, I mean Wilson is another. What a bust. Same with Trey Lancelot. I get it, everyone gets QB hard-ons close to draft time. But, the pro game is a light year jump.

  24. stpetebucfan Says:

It hurts his “soul”? Jeez I never realized JW had a soul.

  25. Defense Rules Says:

The Rams’ fall to 3-7 (from Super Bowl champion) seems very dramatic. They’ve still got some big-name stars (Aaron Donald, Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, etc) but it looks like the salary CAP caught up with them. Looking at their roster, it appears that a number of players who were rotational players last season have been moved in to starting roles this season (on offense & defense). Doesn’t appear to be working out to well for them, even though their coaching staff remains unchanged.

Appears like even good QBs like Stafford have to be protected and surrounded by quality talent to produce quality results. Their defense is roughly the same, but their offense has fallen off a cliff (#7 ranking last year with 27.1 PPG down to a #29 ranking this season with 16.4 PPG thus far). And that’s with an offensive-minded head coach who took them to the Super Bowl in 2018 & 2021. Hmmm, maybe you really do have to have the horses to pull the wagon.

  26. Goatfarmer Says:

Suh had a very nice debut for the Eagles. Glad we decided not to sign him beginning of the season. He wouldn’t have helped us beat the teams that ran over us or when #45 gets bored. Naw.

  27. Redeemer Says:

DR, at least the Rams will get a high pick. Oh snap, they traded them all away. Blahhahhhahh. Some hard decisions next year. They got a ring out of it anyway.

  28. Goatfarmer Says:

Chris Simms is jabbering away on FBNIA. He makes be want to jab my ears with an ice pick, he’s suddenly decided he’s arrived as a real voice of knowledge.

Throw another batted down pass Chrissie, you’ll be returned to 2nd rate podcasting soon enough.

  29. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

Jameiss reminds this poster of cryptocurrency.
You know, where you put all that money into it, and get no return.

  30. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

    All Fluff and no substance.

  31. Daryl Green Says:

Goatfamer👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 dumb he would have earn all his paychecks
The guy doesn’t take games off, help get Big V back during the SB run( how to eat etc.)

  32. Goatfarmer Says:

    Daryl Green – um….what?

  33. Goatfarmer Says:

Oh you were talking about Suh DG. – sorry man. Yes. You are right.

  34. Goatfarmer Says:

Wow. Chargers explode out of the gate. 3 plays 75 yards with a Herbert 50 yard rainbow. Gorgeous. Three passes.

    Hmmm.

  35. SB~LV Says:

Marcus Mariota is having the best season of his career

  36. Goatfarmer Says:

So is JaMiss. At least he’ll throw the fewest interceptions of his career this season. Almost. Except for the one when he was third string under the cheating coward Sean Payton. But, yeah.

  37. Rod Munch Says:

You win by running the ball, and Chicago is proving that right now.

  38. Adrnagy Says:

Andy dalton and mariota will lead their teams down the stretch for a playoff spot … lol

  39. BringBucsBack Says:

It hurts my soul to see Jameis’ soul hurt! (snark) What an entitled putz! He says this to reporters holding mics in a winning locker room?

  40. DungyDance Says:

Just noticed, earlier today the Texans had 5 total yards in the 1st half against the Comrades. How is that even possible?

  41. Goatfarmer Says:

DungyDance – the answer is a stooge named Lovie Smith.

  42. steele Says:

DefenseRules, yes, Rams (and others) suffering from similar problems as Bucs. Salary cap, Super Bowl-after malaise, and simple attrition. Keeping a team going is not easy. Extremely difficult if poorly coached.

Looking at the schedule, I still see Bucs going 8-9 or 9-8 (optimistic).

  43. Old Sombrero Says:

Where’s Coach Jimbo when you need him,..?

  44. WillieG Says:

Policy? I don’t think that word means what he thinks it means.

  45. SB Says:

    I miss OnieilBucs.

  46. Bucanero Says:

Poor Jameis blaming others for not being the QB that gives the Saints the best chance to win. He didn’t lose his job over an injury. He lost it for being reckless with the football and everyone saw it coming. He may have another shot down the road but this guy has already had too many chances and missed in all of them. I mean the guy saying things like he has to be the leader he needs to be instead of the leader he’ll like to be is already teller that he has the wrong mentality. He seems to repeat what others tell him without assimilating the message.

  47. DoooshLaRue Says:

    SB,

    It’s our fault that Oh-kneel isn’t here.
We just can’t ever develop a true Nuthugger. I mean you either have it or you don’t.
We failed to provide him with the support and tools (namely a dictionary) he so desperately needed to reach his full potential on this site.

  48. kyle Says:

thank god winston is no longer our problem.. he has been coached his whole life how to talk the talk.. he cant walk it.. he always comes off as a dumb ass in his videos..

  49. Buccos Says:

That’s what the Saints get for searching for a new QB in the bargain bin

  50. Manny Says:

See why we all wanted suh and jpp back??? Today jpp had a sack and a pick. In suhs first game of the year, he had like 3 tackles and a half sack

  51. adam from ny Says:

so he will be holding that clip board in tampa in a couple weeks…

and the only thing he will have the opp to throw will be a tablet…

it would have so much more interesting to see him at qb vs the bucs on mnf than dalton

  52. GenocideD Says:

Jameis: “I shouldn’t have played that Tampa game”. 🙂

  53. Your Mom Says:

I think it’s a full game not half a game because the Bucs own the tiebreaker at the moment.

  54. EA Says:

Last I checked Jameis is still collecting a paycheck

  55. rsjcheapseats Says:

The amount of energy this fan base spent arguing about Winston is in retrospect amazing.
