Julio Jones And Multiple Starters Injured Against Chiefs

October 3rd, 2022

Bucs defensive back Logan Ryan is injured.

Joe is starting to wonder if a powerful flatulence emission at One Buc Palace is capable of injuring any of our beloved Buccaneers.

The team is proving to be a brittle bunch this season. Bad luck? Training changes? Counting on injury-prone players? Joe’s not sure, but it’s probably a combination of many factors.

After Sunday night’s throttling by the Chiefs at The Licht House, Todd Bowles said Julio Jones’ snaps were limited because he got tackled  nicked up in the game. Plus Bowles said safety/cornerback Logan Ryan suffered a foot injury and Carlton Davis “got a stinger.”

Joe also saw Russell Gage limp and reach for his left hamstring, and tight end Cameron Brate is in the concussion protocol after he made a catch and collided with Chris Godwin.

As for the rest of the defense, Joe knows there are some injured egos after that ugly beatdown.

That kickoff fumble was a huge kick in the groin. We spotted them 7 and lost by 10 disappointing

  2. Goatfarmer Says:

And apparently the depth we thought we had doesn’t exist, and Mrs Beasley looked like the Family Affair doll that Buffy cuddled when he just fell down catching a Brady pass.

    Cyril Grayson, anyone?

    Thompkins?

    Adam Humphries?

    6th rounder for Tyler?

  3. Goatfarmer Says:

Rachel White should be put on the bus with Leftwurst, DardOn and JTS and shipped off to Hamilton.

  4. SPARKY Says:

The only ones with balls on offense are Brady and Evans and Lenny. Everybody else gets hurt every time they get tackled.

  5. adam from ny Says:

that d was not hungry up front…that d line looks like they were just ordering in room service all week 🙂

  6. ForReal Says:

I could play in the league if you can just be hurt every time you run a route… Pay me…. I can t do worse than not be available… JJ is A BUST!!!!!!

  7. adam from ny Says:

chiefs bs running backs ran over the bucs d like they didn’t give a fugg…

very unexpected again a front that until tonight has almost been impossible to run against…for years…

they ran up almost 200 yards…kinda wild

  8. adam from ny Says:

    against*

  9. adam from ny Says:

yes chris godwin is just looking super fragile in general…

every play you cringe like: “is dude gonna get up”

  10. The Beer Whisperer Says:

This game was really close, until the opening kick-off.

  11. Adrnagy Says:

Easy fix. Sign suh. And run defense get way better. We have good depth in the back end.

Wr we are good. We need to use miller , cole more.

Rb is good. Use Vaughn , white more.

Oline we need to replace Goedeke.

    TE. Sucks.

  12. firethecannons Says:

The fumble by Rachad White was unforgivable and what led to confident momentum for Chiefs and losing spirit for the Bucs. Sorry but it is true, the rookie needs to learn to secure the ball or do not get to play. He needs to start playing better and smarter and safer.

The run defense is gone and JTS is not effective rather see #98 play–he is getting pressure and sacs

  13. Kody Says:

We’re NFL players this fragile back in the 70s and 80s when men were still men? Any of you guys old enough to remember if injuries were this common and abundant back in the good old days when guys were tough-as-nails?

  14. firethecannons Says:

somebody says: This game was really close, until the opening kick-off.

and that is why the rook needs to practice ball security and next time he is careless then he sits the bench preferably before he fumbles it again

  15. adam from ny Says:

    where was julio this time?

    down by the school yard?

but there was a game to play……didn’t anyone tell him?

  16. adam from ny Says:

might be time to bring big suh back into the building

  17. JTHV Says:

The 45yo QB looks washed. Rams, Pack and Chiefs came to Tampa and ripped him. 3 games in a row at home. Blame who?

  18. ModHairKen Says:

What a bunch of $hit. These guys need to get in better shape. Pathetic.

  19. Love them Bucs Says:

I wish Chris Godwin would heal more. He plays so hard as he blocks, catches those over the middle passes and scratches for every yard. He’s out there blocking on rushing plays. He’s obviously hurting so the opponents hit him as hard as they can. It’s a long season and his style of play isn’t going to allow him to last until the playoffs.

  20. Will Says:

This is what happens when guys don’t play in the pre season and are already injury prone. Their bodies are use to it plus there’s hardly any tackling allowed in practice. If there was after this game I’d have them hitting all week in practice.

Kick Julio to the curb and bring up one of practice squad WRs. Sign Suh so someone will hold this Dline to a higher standard and for the love of all things STOP PLAYING YOUR DBS OFF 10YDS!

  21. Buccos Says:

Should have brought back Suh and JPP. Never saw teams run on us like that when we had those two.

  22. Crickett Baker Says:

Almost every single guy the team hired had previous injuries and some were even questionable when we hired them. I had no idea at the time why we did that. But we are not gonna solve the team’s problems blabbing on here. I don’t even know how we scored 31 points! AND it seemed to me that it took 5 of our guys to tackle and stop one of theirs.

  23. Lakeland Steve Says:

How’s that coming out party going Shaq?

  24. teacherman777 Says:

The Chiefs picked Pacheco in the 7th round!

    Pacheco runs a 4.38.

    White runs a 4.55.

    And it shows.

We whiffed again on a RB. Rojo, Vaughn, White.

and Pacheco is better than all 3.

  25. BucU Says:

Unbelievably pathetic effort. This team is NOT who we thought they were. I’m embarrassed to be a Bucs fan.

  26. Sumosam Says:

The team is 2 and 2. We are the best team in the division. We’ll be ok. All you doom and gloom guys need to chill.

  27. Kentucky Buc Says:

Some people can’t handle success. The D got talked up all week by the media. White got D player of the month. White and Shaq talking crap in the media. Look like fools right now. Surprised by Shaq. He doesn’t normally talk trash.

  28. LP Says:

Now I KNOW SMB has been frozen out of the defense room. He was obviously the only one to miss the memo about the defense taking the night off.

  29. Goatwatcher Says:

“Everybody thinks we suck. Can’t win any games. We’ll see. It’ll be fun.”–Tom Brady

  30. Bojim Says:

What? Julio is hurt??? Color me surprised.

  31. MAGAXMAN Says:

Should’ve kept JPP, Suh and Tyler Johnson. You know players who showed constant effort and ability. This equity garbage is helping either. A woman as a defensive line coach?! If you haven’t played the position then you shouldn’t be coaching it.

  32. D Says:

@will bro the way the corners are playing is like 2012-2016 when the corners would play off 10/12 yards and give up easy slants and comeback routes. Like what’s the point to have big physical corners if we’re not going to use them properly. Like when we had Revis we made him play zone smh

  33. Mike Johnson Says:

I see both Goodwin and Evans as on and off again all season with injuries. Goodwin is not fully recovered. And Julio is just about done. Now you see why the Falcons got rid of him. His time has come and gone. Our O line will get better. But its gonna take the whole season, I think this Bucs team will probably make the playoffs. But it is not a championship one.

  34. unbelievable Says:

How many veterans over the age of 30 can you keep signing and expect to remain healthy?

  35. Old School Bucs Says:

So these hamstring injuries are ridiculous! I am convinced now the bucs trainers have the team on treadmills!!! Those things are so bad for world class atheletes!!! Just destroy hammies. Hey Bucs gets your players off the damn treadmills!!!! Run out side or on the fields they will play on!!! The whole fitness industry has just become one of complacent bunch of idiots, and now it has moved into the professional ranks!!!!

  36. scott Hemmingsen Says:

Bradys fumble was worse then Rachaad whites fumble Brady also snapped the ball with 12 men on the field what happened to our QB guy is having stuff happen to him this year that our very un Brady like. But blame rachaad White who out rushed Lenny because of one fumble. Brady couldn’t I’d snead who was clearly blitzing he fumbles right as we got the momentum. Blame a rookie for a rookie mistake but don’t blame a 23 year vet who had multiple rookie mistakes. WORSE FAN Base in football

  37. TJ Says:

Hemmingsen there is no way in a million years that Brady’s fumble was worse. Whites fumble cost us the ENTIRE game plan. Set the tone for a game and the final score was much closer than the actual game. And I don’t know apparently you are the only man in the stadium that id’ Snead. Even got passed the Number one guard in the league Wirfs. And so I guess Brady and his rookie mistakes have costed us. It’s EASY for Rachaad to get garbage yards when the game is out of reach. Lenny only ran the ball when it was close. But hey I’m just a terrible fan and not as smart as some other fans.

  38. Ontario Mike Says:

More play action and pre-snap motion vs empty backfields so the opps only have one thing to defence. Why do I watch the opps and other TV games where innovative plays happen but Bucs have a plain vanilla offence? Lefty?

  39. Purplepirate Says:

” We are the best team in the division.”

That’s like bragging about being the tallest midget. If you can’t beat good teams, your playoff run will be a short one.

  40. Ed in Salt Lake Says:

Julio Jones signing is turning into an absolute disaster!
